The club was alive with energy, the sound of music and chatter filling the space. The podium celebration was still fresh in your mind, the high of the race, the rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins. After a long, hard-fought race, you had finally made it to the top three, standing on the podium with a huge smile on your face. You had earned it. You had worked so hard for it. Fernando Alonso had finished alongside you, and both of you were now celebrating the victory with close friends and teammates.

As you stood surrounded by Fernando, Carlos Sainz, and George Russell, the four of you were laughing, sharing stories of the race, and enjoying the excitement of the moment. Fernando had his arm draped around your shoulders, a proud smile on his face, his voice full of excitement as he spoke animatedly about the race. Carlos was teasing you both about how you were going to beat him next time, and George was raising a glass to your hard-earned success. Everything felt perfect — until he walked in.

Lando Norris.

The moment your eyes met his, your stomach twisted into a knot. There he was, striding confidently into the club, a slight smile on his face, as if nothing had ever happened. He was still the same Lando you remembered: the boy you once loved, the boy who had shattered your heart.

You immediately tensed, your grip on your drink tightening. Fernando noticed the shift in your demeanor, his brow furrowing in confusion before he glanced over his shoulder to see what you were looking at. His expression immediately hardened, and Carlos and George followed his gaze.

Lando, oblivious to the sudden shift in the atmosphere, walked up to the bar with a casual air, nodding at a few people in the crowd. It wasn’t until he caught sight of you that his smile faltered, though it didn’t disappear entirely.

“Didn’t expect to see you here,” Lando said, his voice light, as though nothing had ever happened between you two.

You couldn’t help but scoff, your anger rising quickly. Fernando, sensing the tension, took a step back, giving you space, though he kept his eyes on Lando with a wary look. Carlos and George, too, gave the two of you some room, but they didn’t hide their discomfort.

Lando leaned against the bar casually, his eyes flicking over to Fernando. “Looks like it’s been a good day for both of you,” he said, motioning to the celebration around you. “Podium, huh? Congrats.”

You could feel the heat of frustration welling up inside of you, all the old feelings coming back to the surface. How dare he waltz in here like everything was fine, like he hadn’t betrayed you? Like he hadn’t destroyed everything you once believed in.

“Don’t act like you care,” you said coldly, your voice sharp as a knife. “You have a funny way of congratulating someone, Lando.”

Lando blinked, clearly surprised by your hostility. His smile faltered, and he glanced at Fernando and the others, as if searching for something to make this moment less awkward. But you weren’t giving him that luxury.

“Are you serious?” Lando’s voice hardened, his earlier casualness replaced with something darker. “I come in here to show some support, and you act like I just killed your puppy? It’s been years.”

You could feel the anger building up inside you, the emotions from all those years ago surging to the surface. “You don’t get to act like nothing happened,” you shot back, voice tight with fury. “You don’t get to pretend we’re fine. You cheated on me. You humiliated me in front of everyone. And when I got hurt, when I was out for a year, you didn’t even care. You didn’t even apologize.”

Lando’s eyes widened at the intensity of your words, but he quickly recovered, a defensive look crossing his face. “That was a long time ago. You think I don’t regret it? You think I don’t feel like an asshole for how things ended?”

“Oh, so now you regret it?” You laughed bitterly, the sound cutting through the noise of the club. “You should have thought about that before you—”

“Before I what?!” Lando snapped, stepping closer to you now, his voice low and fierce. “Before I made a mistake? You think I don’t know how badly I messed up? But you’ve been holding this over my head for years, and it’s not even about that anymore, is it? It’s about holding onto your grudge.”

You didn’t back down. “I’m not holding a grudge. I’m holding onto the truth. You left me broken, and for what? Because you couldn’t stay faithful? Because you wanted to feel good about yourself while I was dealing with the aftermath of your mistakes?”

Fernando stepped in, placing a hand on Lando’s shoulder, his expression stern, but calm. “This isn’t the place for this,” he said quietly, his voice laced with authority. “We’re here to celebrate a win, not dredge up old wounds.”

Lando looked at Fernando, clearly irritated by his intervention, but he didn’t argue. His eyes moved back to you, and there was a flicker of regret in them. But you didn’t care about the flicker. You cared about the damage he had done.

“You should leave,” you said, your voice colder now. “This is a celebration, not a pity party for you.”

Lando’s jaw tightened. For a moment, it seemed like he was going to lash out again, but instead, he took a deep breath. His eyes briefly met yours — there was a faint trace of apology, but it was clouded by his own pride.

“You’re still angry,” he said quietly, as if finally understanding. “I get it. But I’m not going anywhere.”

“You should,” you shot back, your eyes blazing. “Go anywhere but here.”

The tension between you two hung in the air, thick and suffocating. Fernando gave Lando one final look, his expression hardening before he stepped away from the group, signaling the others to follow him.

Carlos leaned in toward you and whispered, “Are you okay?”

You nodded, though the emotion was raw in your chest, and it would take a lot more than a few words to heal that wound. But for now, you were surrounded by the people who truly mattered — the ones who had been there for you when Lando had abandoned you.

The music played on, and for a moment, the weight of the past started to lift as you turned your attention back to your celebration. But Lando’s presence, even from across the room, lingered.

summary : you call for help, and max is the first person that comes to your mind. and to say that max is baffled is an understatement.

warning : unedited, harsh words, maybe ooc driver?, and bad grammars.

a/n : i am girl-bossing through exam today, and i decided to write this as a reward. i also listen to asmr roleplay by gibi asmr and moonlight cottage asmr while writing this and its good KSJNSKDJNAKD SORRY-

max was in the middle of doing his daily exercise when his phone suddenly rang. he press the slow down button on his treadmill as he simply answer the call from his earbud.

"good morning to you, ice princess." he happily answer, still walking on his treadmill.

"max, I think I made a big mistake."

hearing your soft whimper he stop the machine.

"y/n, what's wrong?"

"i kiss daniel."

"what?!"

"i kiss him, max. we kissed."

max had to hold himself as he listen to you, leaning his body on the railing of his treadmill. his lips are sealed in thin line, trying to think of a reaction.

he is conflicted about this; in one hand he want to cheer on daniel for finally man up and make a move. on the other hand, you sounds so scared and he understand that this whole territory is foreign to you. so he just keep his mouth sealed.

"max, say something!"

"i–uhh–i don't know, y/n. it was just a kiss right? is it a bad thing?" he answer.

max decided that he is done with workout, so he got off from the treadmill taking his phone with him as he grab a towel. he glance at the clock on the wall. its 5:34 and he wonder why you already wake up this early.

"wait, where are you right now and why you up this early y/n?"

"i'm.. i dunno where i am right now. i was heading back to szeged from budapest but i just stop, i'm not even in highway right now. i dunno where i am, and i need a breather."

"god, okay calm down. are you alone?"

"yes."

"shit, y/n. send me your location so i can check on you. and also, how did you end up in budapest? what happen?"

and after 45 minutes of you rambling in your car, on the side of the road, in the middle of god knows where, you finish your story.

"- and that is how i end up in this shit. just lost me ol' cobber for doing something stupid." you said, a little aussie side of you were showing.

max just open his mouth in disbelief or in silence? either way he don't know what to do. yes what you and daniel did are stupid, but from his perspective this is a long-awaited miracle. finally daniel grew a pear and you being smart. but damn, that was something.

"that's it max, i'm gonna fly my ass back to straya before daniel catch me in my house. i'm running away, maybe move to-i dunno-alaska?" you said.

"what? y/n, don't do that! you guys had just reconcile, now you want to run away?" max answered as he walk back to his room, straight to his computer as he open discord.

"well so much for reconciliation! i fucked up!"

he open discord from his phone and quickly type 'sos' to the discord server that he had made few months ago, back when the party-planning were made. lando had call themself 'project y/niel' and there are few drivers there that willing to help daniel and you; lewis, lando, charles, carlos (surprisingly), george, and lastly alex.

"maxie, wil je dat ik met dit ga doen?" maxie, what should i do with this?

"y/n, je zult toch tot kalmte moeten komen, en de enige manier omdat te doen is door te ademen. okay?" y/n, you have to calm down and the only way you're going to do that is to breathe. okay?

"okay."

"alright here's what i want you to do, you're gonna go back to your place and sleep. its almost 7 now, like it or not you will have to sleep. i'll deal with daniel so you don't have to worry." he command you, biting his lower lips as he wait for any reaction on the discord server.

"alright then, i'm gonna drive home first. talk to you later max."

"take care y/n. don't do anything stupid."

"max, i know you know where y/n is. please let me know where she is–or just tell her to answer her phone!"

"daniel, calm down."

max massaging his throbbing temple as he walk to the fridge, taking a bottle of water before opening it.

"max i kiss her! i–she–i can't help it! and now she's freaking out i–"

"mate you're also freaking out, calm down."

"god i am such a loser..."

he took a chug of the water, emptying the bottle in no time. he chuck the bottle on to the trash bin before reacting to the sad daniel.

"yeah, you are. but it already happen, so you need to calm down."

"what should i do?"

"i'll talk to her dan, don't worry. for now, she need a space okay? and you need to go home. or sleep. either way i need you to calm down."

"all things aside, i am not regretting this. now that i know what i've been missing, i need her okay? she–god she is going to be the death of me max."

Seeing this look into a post Endgame Bucky is JUST what the doctor ordered. Rabbit (you) is super fun, quirky and the perfect "sidekick" for Buck. READ IT READ IT READ IT!

Ya’ll this fic is a MASTERPIECE. The story and world are built out larger than life. We get so much historical context, Howlies banter, MULTIPLE POV’s and an INCREDIBLE OFC Sadie Ried. I tell you what, the romance that is crafted through this story is so incredible, and it is a SLOWWWWW BURNN. I cried, I laughed, I had a mental breakdown when it ended. Just the research ALONE this author put in to make this 1940’s fic feel true to history but also the MCU was so impressive and unique. Highly recommend.

LOTS OF 1940's BUCKY IN THIS FIC!! This fic beautifully juxtaposes two timelines. Bucky had a girl during the War; and she ends up being captured and turned into the Summer Soldier and is the Winter Soldier's Partner. The chapters during the War are some of my favorite, I'm obsessed with the interactions between the Howlies. It's a love story at it's core, but it is also SO SO SO much more.

The Supernova Series by Madscientist1313- Ao3 (Multipart Series- In Progress)

Relationships can be tough, especially when one person is a recovering-from-being-brainwashed-and-tortured former assassin and the other is an overworked mutant scientist.

You are in it for the LONG HAUL with this one kids. Fasten your seatbelts. The OFC Dr. Tessa Sullivan is a mutant - with the power to control and manipulate energy - who was raised in Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. This series is near and dear to me. It's an amazing fic that goes a bit off cannon but ADDS so much to the story while sticking to the basics. PLUS it adds the X-Men into the MCU world. And it's basically perfect. Trust me. MUCH ANGST. MUCH FLUFF. Be prepared to have your heart ripped out once you get to the events of Endgame. Cause yeah.

Ya’ll A.J.the ofc of this story is amazing. I love her. She's so badass. The writing style is so fun, super sarcastic and witty all good things. Admittedly this one is very different from my usual since there isn’t a lot of “Romance” per se. The story is more character driven and hints at the possibility of A.J. Ending up in a triangle with Stucky. Which. Hello. Yes please. The sequel is ongoing and I’m reading that currently!
