Summer is around the corner! Here are some great things to do to get you into summer magic! Summer is the time of abundance and prosperity!
Make Fragrance Oils, Extracts or Waters You can use summer flowers and herbs like honeysuckle, mint, basil, oregano, and lavender to infuse in oils, make flavor extracts with 100 proof alcohol or some like rose and honeysuckle you can simmer and make into a water that makes great flavoring to foods or a toner. Also basil soothes mosquito bites. I rub the crushed leaves over the bites and they don’t itch horribly. I looked it up to see if it was just my weird family methods or if this was a thing but it is kind of a thing. Mint too. Aloe also helps!
Nature Trips!! Go to the beach! To the woods! To the mountains! To the lake! Collect stuff there for your craft! Make cool things into runes like seashells, fallen sticks and branches, mountain rocks or lake stones. I like Bree’s simple runes cause its simple and you can be very creative with it. Make those cool things I just said into talismans, necklaces, here’s a simple guide on how to wire wrap. Go camping in those places, bring some witchy friends! Make a bonfire (if it’s legal). Leave offerings to the fae or mermaids where ever you go, leave offerings to nature.
Use Aloe and Mint in your Bath Witchery and Beauty magic Aloe is soothing for sunburns and moisturizes the skin while it’s not a heavy substance so you feel light. It is also very cooling. Mint cools as well but remember to dilute mint essential oil or else it will leave an icy burning feeling!! Be careful not to put it in any open crevices. Add herbs like citronella, sweet grass, catnip etc in your body oils to ward insects and Mosquitos! (The three herbs also smell super summery like camping trips and freshly mowed lawn lol.)
Witchy Friends!!! And attraction spells A lot of witchy meet ups happen in the summer!!! July 9th is the 5th Annual Witch Festival in Astor Place Manhattan. Go to meetup.com or find ways to meet other witchy friends! I made tons of witchy friends this time of year last year! Also network! People are out and about and looking for people during the summer. Its easy to connect with people that can help you in your career! Its a great time to meet people in general so attraction spells are fantastic now.
PROSPERITY!!!! Summer is a time of Prosperity! BOOST THE PROSPERITY SPELLS AND MONEY SPELLS you see that green all over the newly sprouted trees?? USE THAT SUMMER GREENERY AS MOTIVATION TO GET SOME GREENERY IN YO POCKETS But seriously, this is the time of year that brings wealth for some reason. It has always been for me personally until I realized in some pagan lore this is the time of year of working hard, advancing career and gathering wealth. Maybe its because the sun is exerting the most of it’s energy on the land and it is bringing forth a lot of potential. Use that potential and energy, and people being about to bring about wealth in your life. This Summer Solstice (June 20th, next Monday) is also on a FULL MOON so that day will be a powerful day for prosperity magic!
Tend to your garden If you are lucky to have a lovely garden make sure to tend to it as summer can dry it out easily. If you tend to it well and lovingly it will return the love during lammastide which is the time of reaping what you sow and benefiting from your hard work.
Grow Aloe Plants if you can Having indoor plants is great as well but growing and tending to an aloe plant can be very beneficial this time of year to help the skin. It’s also fantastic to drink as it is very hydrating and great for the hair.
Make a bee fountain and sanctuary! Bees are wonderful and are working pretty hard this time of year. Here’s how to make a little bee fountain! Here’s how to make a little bee house! Make these honeypots for unwanted insects and Mosquitos These jars use yeast to create CO2 which attracts them but they get stuck inside. Working with yeast can be tricky. Hopefully this guide is helpful and straightforward
Make Summer Candles with Citronella and Sweet grass Mosquitos hate that. It also smells wonderfully summery. Add fragrances like cedar oil and sandalwood to give it a summer woods and bonfire fragrance.
Enchant a glass bottle to use as your water bottle. It’s important to use glass or stainless steel cause on incredibly hot days plastic leaks into the water. If you a bougie witch here’s a water bottle with a crystal inside. If you’re a crafty witch you could see that it’s just a glass bottle with a glass capsule inside full of crystals and you could just get a big mason jar, or recycle a voss glass water bottle, buy one of those small glass jar capsules, fill it with crystals, find a sanitary way to attach it to the lid of the jar and bam. Your own, not $100 costing crystal water bottle.
Gathering energy by sunbathing If you love sunbathing, take a moment to absorb the sun’s rays and convert it into energy! If you love working with sigils then cut out some sigils with a piece of thick paper and stick it to your body and let the sun charge it with it’s energy. As you tan the sigil will be tattooed into your skin!

TeaLC --- Ten Herbal Teas for the Body and Soul
Here are a few of the herbal teas that I like to use when I’m stressed, anxious, tense, worried, or just want a nice calm evening with my partner. These tea recipes and formulae are my own creations, and I retain copyright on all of them! If you want to use them in your own works, please contact me first and I’ll be happy to give you permission.
All herbs mentioned are dried, and all seeds and pods are crushed or ground. It is recommended to use 400-500ml of water in each tea, and all water should be poured at boiling point unless otherwise stated. If the water is not brought up to boiling point before adding, the medicines in the herbs will not fully disperse into the water.
Steep all teas for at least 10 minutes in a covered container/teapot unless otherwise stated, otherwise the volatile aromatics in the herbs will evaporate into the air or will still be trapped in the herbs.
Remember! 1 tsp = 1 teaspoon 1 tbsp = 1 tablespoon 1 h. tsp/tbsp = 1 heaped tea/tablespoon

A Little R&R
2 tsp German chamomile
1 tsp spearmint
1 tsp marshmallow root
This gentle tea is soothing and calm, its properties relatively mild and suitable for both adults and children alike. It helps put the mind into a calmer state and begins the process of running the body down before sleep, and for that reason it makes an excellent bedtime drink. It can also be used after a long day at work to switch the body out of “work” mode and into “R&R” mode, hence the name. Due to the marshmallow root, it tends to thicken up if you leave it to steep for more than 30-60 minutes, but this is actually good for you!
A Bedtime Kiss
1 tsp German chamomile
½ tsp passiflora (passionflower)
1 tsp oatstraw
This warming and pleasantly earthy tea is an ideal addition to the night-time rituals of anyone who struggles with persistent insomnia or restless nights. With the usage of chamomile for soothing, passiflora to encourage restful sleep, and natural oatstraw to calm worries and anxieties, this tea is like a gentle bedtime kiss from mum before curling up in bed. Also useful for those who suffer from nychtophobia, otherwise known as fear of the dark; its calming formula eases worry and makes sleeping at night just a little easier. This tea is only suitable for 7-year-olds and above.
Cuddle My Hot Water Bottle
1 h. tbsp shredded fresh ginger
½ tsp cardamom
1 tsp fennel seed
500ml boiling water
This spicy and fragrant brew is an aromatic mix of warming herbs and spices that will calm the body and invigorate the mind. Ginger and cardamom are a powerful combination of potent healing and soothing herbs that will ease out any pains or aches whilst energising your mind, whilst the calming properties of fennel will relax your body and prepare it for the rest of your day. This is the perfect tea for a long day in the office or for pulling an all-nighter, simultaneously rejuvenating your senses and kickstarting your mind for quick, creative thinking.
Twinkle Twinkle Morning Star
1 tsp liquorice root
1 tsp fennel seed
½ tsp cardamom
1 tsp elderflower
1 tsp honey
This punchy little number packs a kick, and is highly recommended for when you wake up in the morning with a stuffy nose you just can’t clear. The aromatic properties of liquorice and fennel will wipe away your sinus troubles in time for your journey to work, and the gently soothing and potently antiviral nature of elderflower and natural honey will help your body rest up faster and recover more effectively from colds, flus, and a bad night of poor sleep. Paired with “Cuddle My Hot Water Bottle”, this combination is devastating to colds and flus! Those with high blood pressure should avoid long-term usage, because chronic consumption of liquorice raises blood pressure.
A Midnight Breeze
1 tsp marshmallow root
1 tsp peppermint
½ tsp passiflora
1 tsp elderflower
When chronic coughing and two-week colds have left your nights sleepless and your evenings exhausting and stressful as you struggle to breathe, this aerating super-tea is here to help! The potent antiviral properties of natural elderflower help to fight back against viruses like colds and flus, whilst the expectorant and easing qualities of marshmallow root will calm your coughing and help give you a phlegm-free night. Passiflora and peppermint combine in this tea to prompt natural rest and relaxation from the body and to encourage it to get some much-needed healing sleep, to help you recover faster and get better sooner. This tea is best left to stew for at least an hour, and should be drunk every evening for the duration of your cold or flu. Not suitable for children under 7.
Tickle My Tummy
1 h. tbsp shredded fresh ginger
1 tsp lemon balm
1 tsp German chamomile
1 tsp honey
A warm and snuggly tea that calms nausea and eases indigestion, this tea is suitable for anyone who wakes up in the night with nausea or starts to feel sick during the day. Tender tums and sensitive stomachs are quieted and calmed by the warmth of ginger tea, whilst the lemon balm and chamomile eases indigestion, soreness and bloating. A little honey for taste is all that’s needed to cap off this pleasant, easy tea for those whose tummy is simply not cooperating!
A Midsummer Night’s Tea
½ tsp mugwort
½ tsp wild lettuce
1 tsp German chamomile
1 tsp vervain
1 tsp spearmint
A mysterious tea for mysterious people, this dreaming potion will have you off playing with the fairies in no short order. Combining the calming and soporific powers of vervain, spearmint and chamomile with the dream-enhancing effects of mugwort and wild lettuce, this Shakespearean brew will produce vivid mental images and deep, dream-filled sleep that will leave you refreshed and inspired when you awaken from fairyland each morning. Not suitable for children under 13, or for those on sleeping pills, anti-anxiety medication, or anti-psychotics. This is a very potent dreaming potion, and should be discussed with your doctor before usage to ensure it does not interact with any of your medications or health conditions.
Better Than Oysters
1 tsp vervain
1 tsp damiana
1 tsp saw palmetto
Best served with chocolate
Sometimes, sleep and therapy and soothing music just isn’t enough to calm down all the tensions in your body and mind, and perhaps something else may be required to allow your energies to burn themselves off in a healthy, regular way. This tea is designed to allow consenting adults who may have the mutual desire to engage in such energy-raising activities but lack the physical ability to do so to gain a little edge in their quest for such potency. Using the temporary boost in testosterone caused by saw palmetto, combined with the neurochemical switches triggered by damiana and vervain, this tea is truly better than oysters when it comes to stimulating what should be stimulated and supporting what one desires be supported. This tea works for anyone of any gender, and will allow anyone of any gender or orientation to feel comfortable in their own latent sexuality and give you the confidence to bring all parties to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. Please note that usage of such products on another person without their consent is strictly illegal in all jurisdictions. Not suitable for children, or those with polycystic ovaries, or ovarian or prostatic cancer.
A Quiet Night In

A cuddly tea for cuddly people, this one could be considered the “baby sibling” of the above “Better Than Oysters” tea. Designed simply to calm your body and mind and help yourself enter a warm and emotional state of being, this soft and snuggly tea makes a wonderful end to a quiet night in with the significant others in your life. This simple tea is no outright cure, but will help cut the duration of jetlag significantly and also improve your mood when you do finally arrive. The melatonin-stimulating effects of ginseng, combined with the absorption-increasing powers of gingko and the calming properties of oatstraw harmonise to produce an excellent and fragrant tea for the neutralisation of the woeful symptoms of a jetlagged mind. This should be taken one day before departure, as well as for at least 3 days after the flight 1 hour before bedtime. Suitable for all ages.

Crystal and Stone Cuts
How Different Shapes Can Influence Energy Flow

This post a little spinoff from my “Explaining Crystal Healing” post, and describes how energy is directed throughout a stone based on the different, both cut and raw, shapes of gemstones. Enjoy ♡
Natural Point(s)⌇Best used when energy is meant to be concentrated and pointed in a specific direction. If a stone has more than one point, the energy will also tend to be directed in those multiple directions. Larger points make wonderful wands!
Grounded Point/Obelisk⌇Stronger version of the (natural) pointed stone, as the bottom of an obilisk-shaped crystal is flat, and allowing for a more grounded directional energy. Because these are meant to be placed standing and pointing upwards, they are best used when energy is needed to be pointed up from a flat surface.
Double-Terminated⌇Think of these cuts as having two poles, like the earth, moving energy in a elongated sphere around the crystal. Energy is taken in by each point and added to the ‘bubble’ of energy the crystal can work with.
Tumbled⌇Crystals and stones that have been tumbled (yet not quite into a perfect sphere) will have energy that softly emits in all directions, sometimes directionally varied if the stone is a little more abstractly shaped.
Natural/Raw⌇Energy flow with naturally shaped and formed stones, while being stronger than man-made stones, tends to be more sporadic than smoother or more even stones (unless, of course, the stone forms naturally with a smooth texture). Energy flow depends on the shape and texture of each mineral - Rough, cubed, pointed, etc.
Faceted/Multiple-Faced⌇Energy in and around faceted gemstones, such as those commonly used in jewelry, will be given off similarly to how a mirror or glass pane reflects/directs light; In this example, think of each face of the stone as glass, and energy as the light. This method of energy flow also applies to multiple-faced, non-pointed stones, such as some varieties of raw minerals that grow with cubed or edged faces.
Spherical⌇Crystal balls and spheres will give off energy in an evenly distributed way, as you expect a perfect sphere would. Spherical gemstones that are translucent and able to focus light (similarly to how a magnifying class can focus sunlight) can also direct energy in one direction if used in certain ways.
“Palm” Stone⌇Palm stones are similar to spherical stones in that they emit energy in a constant way, though these stones are more grounded. Because of their grounded nature and palm-like shape, these types of stones are ideal for emotional healing, grounding, or stress.
Worry Stone⌇Worry stones are created to, just as the name suggests, decrease or eliminate worry! These are made to work a bit differently than others; the piezoelectric energy of the stone is made to be given off as a trigger to physical touching or rubbing one’s thumb on the slightly concaved area of the stone. Besides metaphysical healing purposes, these are also made to give a person something do fiddle with in their hands to take the mind off worry.
