Snippet from The Ithaca Mandate

Ardent, 2765

“She was so excited to see that god-awful ship,” Judith whispered, and Kalor bit her lip as she nodded. “Meanwhile, I can’t get away from it fast enough.”

Kalor set her hand on her arm and squeezed.

“It’s just a ship, Quinn,” she said. “Just as fragile and vulnerable as the rest of us.”

The simplicity of the statement refused to settle. Ithaca wasn’t fragile. She’d never faltered. She was an entity all her own, an impenetrable metal veil that wedged herself between two realities Judith could no longer reconcile. For years she had known Ithaca would take Lyris, and Rilka–that she might even one day have taken Zoey.

She wasn’t just a ship. Not anymore.

She was a threshold, a snare–a patient, immutable gravity that Judith knew was now finally seizing her, too.

Ithaca was always going to take her.

But her pull would drown them both.

Star Trek: Voyager, J/7: The Measure Of Logic - Chapter 17 Posted

“My Federation no longer abides by this decree,” she said, and this time, the electronic voice was lower, more thorny. The mechanics of her eyes ceased revolving as she and Janeway watched one another. “They sanctioned my research and my mission. We were losing the war against the Klingons. This was all we had left.” “It seems we won’t need any specialized equipment to locate our differences, then,” Janeway said in return, raising a brow. “War or not, meddling with this kind of tech is wrong.”

Fandoms: Star Trek: Voyager x Star Trek: Discovery

Relationship: Kathryn Janeway / Seven of Nine

Rating: Mature

Synopsis:

After Captain Janeway contracts an illness during an expedition to an uninhabited planet and orders USS Voyager to leave her behind, a certain hardheaded Astrometrics officer isn't so keen on abandoning her Captain. As Janeway and Seven learn to navigate the strange new dynamic forming between them, it becomes apparent that the planet they now call home has a much deeper story to tell--one that seems to defy logic, reality, and even the natural order of time itself. ----- This is a standalone fic but can be read as additional worldbuilding to my "For the Optics" series. Timeline runs about a year prior to the events of "A Binding of Stars."

Happy Monday, everyone. ***SOMEBODY*** did that thing again where she sneaks in and helps me with the muse to write an entire chapter in one afternoon, so, here you go!

This is SO PRETTY ❤️

But they did not do these two justice in the show 💔 😩

Digital fanart of Raffi Musiker and Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Picard. Raffi has medium-brown skin, curly blonde hair with darker roots, and she is wearing a black tank top. Seven has pale skin, long blonde hair, an ocular implant above her eye, and she is wearing a dark olive-green sweater. They both have their arms wrapped around eachother.

Subversion Theory Chapter 9

“If I were to let my crew board your ship, I would be killing them,” Michael explained, a part of her struggling with the concept that she was trying to appeal to a monster. “Even if we survived you, we wouldn’t survive the Federation cull.” “Then there is no quandary,” Control replied. “You are already lost.”

-----

Three years after the attack on Section 31 Headquarters, Control has the Federation on the brink. When the USS Discovery begins receiving encrypted transmissions from someone claiming to be Starfleet who seems to know everything about their enemy, Captain Michael Burnham sees one last shot to turn the tide. But as Control's obsession with her deepens and the boundaries between ally and adversary begin to unravel, its objectives evolve into something far more dangerous--and lead Michael to question if she's still in control of her own game.

A Snippet From My Current Work In Progress, The Ithaca Mandate.

A snippet from my current work in progress, The Ithaca Mandate.

Genre mix: Sci-Fi, WLW Romance, Psychological Thriller

Synopsis:

When Lieutenant Judith Quinn is jolted out of stasis by Commander Lyris to find their starship crippled and adrift, she’s dragged into a nightmare unlike any she’s ever known. But as they work to piece together what brought Ithaca to her knees and salvage what remains, Judith feels an unsettling shift in her Commander. The woman she once knew—once loved—is different, marked by the accident that drove them apart, burdened by the augmentations that keep her together, and driven by a desperation that feels frighteningly personal.

As the ship descends into ruin and old feelings transform into a lifeline, Judith must confront the disturbing realization that the real danger may lie not in the wreckage surrounding them, but in how much of herself she will abandon to reconnect with what matters the most.

The Real MVP Here, Carrying Me Through Another Major Life Event. 15 Years With This Dude And I'm So Grateful

The real MVP here, carrying me through another major life event. 15 years with this dude and I'm so grateful for every moment he's here.

My father's Honor Walk was held yesterday, and we are able to move forward now. I try to take comfort in the knowledge that he may save at least three lives, but the experience and attention that comes with being the family of a donor has been quite overwhelming for someone who is an introvert and a recluse on a good day.

I've gotten a bit of headspace to finish up the next chapter of Subversion Theory as I try to have some moments to take my mind off everything. It's been difficult not to have this outlet, and I suppose that's why I'm writing this here. My father was more well-known and more well-liked than I ever knew, and fielding calls and messages between the three of us has been exhausting. I am grateful to have a night of quiet in my home with my pets and some space to breathe and process on my own before the actual service this weekend.

Still, my mind is on something else as well.

My father was an engineer--someone who enjoyed solving problems as much as creating problems to solve--and in classic fashion, upon searching for his credentials to access his computer, etc., my brother and I found what appears to be a 100+ page long cypher.

I'm uncertain which is more likely: he left it for us to solve because it's important, or he left it for us to think we needed to solve it but it's actually nothing important at all.

In either case--that's my dad ❤️

Add some leather and a few questionable morals and you have Farscape.

I want a reverse Star Trek, where instead of there being only one or two aliens on a crew full of humans, there's only one human on a crew full of aliens. And like, balls-to-wall weird aliens. Like one of them was bred for low-gravity asteroid mining, so he lives in a little hutch on the outside of the ship; one of them is just a cloud of birds with each individual bird being nonsentient, but they form a hivemind together with natural radiotransmitters in their brains; one of them is a liquid, but not the kind of liquid like Odo where it can take other shapes, so it just needs to be wheeled around everywhere in a tank, etc.
