My name is Hayden (she/her)! In ye olden days, I had a semi-popular writing blog that I deleted on a whim, but I’m back now!
I write YA low-fantasy. Clearly (via fairy/walrus post), people want to believe there are bits of magic here and there, right alongside our ordinary world. Or people are genuinely shocked at the very notion of a walrus.
The book I am currently working on features four friends who are dealing with the hardships of life, growing up, deciding who they want to be. That’s boring, add 💫fairies💫
Ella is on a quest to find magic. She fancies herself to be one of the old poets of Ireland. After returning from an island out west, she’s been terribly ill… and all the myths end in death. It’s not looking good. Alongside her, she has Shira who is looking for magic for her own reasons, but she won’t talk about why. There’s Kate, a new student who fits in like she’s always been there, and Jack. He’s very polite. Ella isn’t polite, but she likes that he is.
This idea has been a long time in the making. It began when I was nine and I read a horrible story from the Junior Classics about a girl disappearing through time. It began with a reoccurring dream of a girl wearing an equestrian helmet. It began because of BBC Merlin. Arthurian legends and the like. I started writing this story after I did a deep dive on Irish history and folklore in the 5th in 6th centuries in my first year of uni. I gave a forty-five minute presentation on the subject, and I decided I needed to write or else I might die.

Me as soon as i get out:
i'm AWARE this is a stupid hill to die on, but like. trope vs theme vs cliché vs motif vs archetype MATTERS. it matters to Me and i will die on this hill no matter how much others decide it's pointless. words mean things
I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Vibes for Softly Tortured Characters
For the ones who make you want to wrap them in a blanket and also scream “JUST TALK TO SOMEONE.”
Always looks like they didn’t sleep (because they didn’t)
Talks like they’re about to say something else, but never does
Constantly touches their sleeves/jewelry/lip, like if they’re not holding something, they’ll fall apart
Laughs too easily, but it never quite reaches their eyes
Over-apologizes for things no one noticed
Craves affection but flinches when they get it
Body language = trying to take up as little space as possible
Flashes of unexpected rage, like pressure finally cracking glass
Always says “I’m fine” in a tone that screams “Please ask again”
Cries alone, then wipes their face like it’s a secret
Feels safest in chaos because stillness feels like waiting for pain
Thinks being loved means being a burden
Cannot remember the last time they were truly, fully relaxed
Keeps people at arm’s length, but is the first to drop everything if someone else needs help
Treats their own joy like it's a luxury they didn’t earn
Your drunk father burnt down your house when you were a little girl. You cough up dollhouse plastic from time to time. It smells like your mother's garden where she is buried. When you chase down a bottle of Jack, smoke roils in your lungs. It still smells like your mother's garden.
Obligatory if you don't want a goal either because you don't think you'll do it or because you have one that works for you, then this post isn't for you just ignore or reblog for someone else ^_^
These range in difficulty because I wanted there to be something approachable for everyone
1: Write 200 words everyday
2: Write 400 words everyday
3: Write 500 words everyday
4: Write 50 words everyday
5: Write a sentence everyday
6: Write one paragraph everyday
7: Write a chapter every week
8: Write 1k words every week
9: Write a short story/one-shot every week
10: Write a short story/one-shot every month
I did my best w/ these, again you don't gotta do any if either these are still too big for you [I get that !!] Or if you have a bigger/smaller goal that you do that works for you [or if you simply write better when you don't have a daily/weekly/monthly goal in mind]
My personal daily goal is 200 words a day, which I've been doing the past few days successfully, but who knows if I'll be able to keep it up, but ya know - still good !!!!
my friends r so talented. rb if ur friends are talented
Neil!!!
Rough estimate: It's possible to reach 1000 boops in less than 2 hours (took me 1:30h), if you got some people to spam it to.
If you are a blog where people can spam boop's to, reblog this.
