This is one of my favorite scenarios to think about when it comes to the Hewitts. I love cleaning for other people so whenever I see their house I just wanna start scrubbing away at the floorboards or something.
Part of me wonders if Luda May would view it as an attack on the family. As if youโd be silently telling her that the house is dirty and that the family is dirtyโฆ in fairness Iโm sure the family has been treated poorly by the community and wouldnโt know how to feel about someone doing something nice for them.
(Iโm a strong believer that people deserve to have a clean and safe home, thatโs why I personally love cleaning for others)
The urge to just clean the Hewitt household is incredibly strong, I know that Luda Mae is old and is having difficulties doing a couple of things. But for dear god, that house looks like it has been abandoned and vandalised for years!
Oh absolutely. The pictures were taken before and after filming was complete - The actual house was built in the mid-late 1800s, with little care. Cleaning teams were hired to conceal the mold and rot within the wood and wallpaper so they cast could actually perform. It's definitely a house full of dust, mold, rot, rust, and overall poor circulation.
I love stinky men ๐ฅฐ
Anyone who says Thomas should be / is hairless is being robbed. Anyone who says Thomas smells like "pine trees and outside" is being robbed. Anyone who says Thomas is "capable of nothing wrong" is being robbed. You're being robbed of the complexity and realism in his character ๐ญ
Thomas smells gross. Can we be honest here - For a minute?
Thomas is sweating all day. Every day. With minimal hygiene. That INCLUDES laundry. Covered in blood, bodily fluids, guts, sweat, dirt, and exhaust from his chainsaw - He's going to smell like a cadaver bathed in animal feces and musk. It's not gonna be the "regular" musk - It's going to be putrefying. Give him a shower NOW ๐ฃ๏ธโผ๏ธ
Also..Thomas does not will not shave. His facial skin is really damaged which leads me to believe the hair follicle is also damaged - Meaning no beard or mustache for Tommy. Everywhere else tho..no way bro's bald. No way bro's chest is bald. You've seen his arms, they got hair on 'em. His chest is the same.
--
Thomas is a grown adult with complex trauma - not a child who doesn't understand right from wrong, you bozo {with love}
Do not deny yourself - Give Thomas his disgusting revolting qualities NOW ๐ฃ๏ธโผ๏ธ
"B-But, but Tommy is my poopy!!! He smells like riverbeds and Texas pine-"

This is so interesting.. and if it had ended that way, it would have created much more space for a sequel. Iโm reading through the script right now.
I would have loved to see more interactions between the family when they aren't killing people. It would be cool to see them just in their every day lives and interacting with one another. While the family is far from healthy and normal, they do love each other.
I feel like people in the TCM community donโt talk about Chop-Topโs and Bubbaโs relationship enough. Itโs obvious Chop-Top loves Bubba, but just doesnโt like showing it (Which is normal or siblings). Considering in TCM 2, he got mad at him about messing up his metal plate and ruining his wig, but realizes that he canโt get mad at him, just asking if he got Stretch good. I just need more fanart of them being brothers who enjoy each otherโs company, is that so much to ask for?
This album is also so fucking good. Like its goofy and entertaining with some pretty good instrumentals. Maybe I'm just glazing...

Happy Valentine's Day I think
As someone who grew up in the church its really uncanny and unnerving seeing the word of god be used to justify evil deeds. Yet at the same time its grotesquely fascinating to me. Every time I think about how religion is used as both a tool and a shield for the Hewitts I cant help but shudder. With each twisted religious reference they make I can't help but think of one of the many teachings of the church that would condemn them. It makes me wonder if these characters ever actually read the bible or if they cherry pick the scriptures that best suit them in their situation. I'm inclined to believe they cherry pick scriptures.
While I no longer let the church or teachings of god guide me in my life, I still have those lessons engrained in my memory. They come in handy whenever I come across characters who use it to justify their motives.
{Literally just these three but y'know - Monty's sleeping as usual with his lazy ass}
I think Luda Mae fears God; Hoyt doesn't..at least not as much. They were both raised the same, by the same people, in the same environment, of the same religion. But Hoyt was - is, a product of sin, in my interpretation. Hoyt was born of sin and will die of sin; Born to commit the sins of his father. Because of his "predestined" behavior, I think Hoyt views what he's doing as either a form of redemption {for himself and his mother} as well as a final 'fuck you' to God. {Inconsistent ahh religious relationship}
its seems almost as if Charlie views himself as someone who's predisposed to hell. "I was born of sin, I'll die of sin - Might as well have some fun." His experiences in the world most likely drove him away from religion and weakened his faith in God overall - Further fueling this mindset.
In some individuals, religion can develop into a form of psychosis.ย I don't think Hoyt has that {on the surface}, but Luda definitely does. I doubt God is going to make you burn for fucking up, Jesus didn't care as long as it was genuine mistake. If he did, everyone would be in hell right now. The only reason Eve was punished is because she prioritized herself and her pleasure over the boundaries of God. That's not the same as messing up, people forget that. But in the case of the Hewitts - They chose the same path as Eve - Just more viciously.
The Hewitts {Hoyt more specifically} prioritized family pride over the lives of other people. They'd rather stay on their land than move away. They'd rather be forgotten by society - Kill and consume outsiders, instead of adapting to another town.
Remember the dinner scene in TCM: The Beginning? Just before Bailey dies, as Chrissie's insulting the family. That right there is the perfect example of the family's philosophy.
C: "I have a question for you, it involves the family tree - the lineage, if you will; So I guess this one's for the table: You guys fuck all your cousins or just the ones you find attractive?"
H: "You blasphemous bitch! This is redemption, lady, that's what this is! Oh, you're all gonna pay for your sins, that's right! And especially you."
Hoyt knows what they're doing is wrong - they all do. Yet they reframe it as "cleansing the world of sin." The mindset "we do what we have to in order to survive."
H: "You starve to death, or survive."
Hoyt views what they're doing as means of survival. They were starving to death - which he explicitly says in the 'first supper' scene
H: "Thanks to the good sheriff here, we ain't gonna go hungry tonight. Matter of fact, we ain't never gonna starve again."
____
Dean deserved to die because he failed his country. His fellow soldiers. Morgan, Kemper, Pepper, Andy, Erin, they all deserved to die for their possession of weed and their disrespect towards the family. Chrissie and Eric deserved it for the same reason. Bailey was with those 'disrespectful draft dodgers.' She was a whore, too - Just as sinful in the eyes of the lord.
stfu Hoyt as if you haven't done worse
Erin and Bailey disrespected Thomas - This would set Luda Mae off so bad. SHE LITERALLY SAID "Get her out of my sight" to Thomas in reference to Erin. She's disgusted by them - Disgusted by anyone who insults her, Thomas, {anyone in the family really}, or God.
L: "I know your kind - Nothing but cruelty and ridicule for my boy, all the time he was growing up. Does anybody care about me and my boy? Huh?"
--
E: "What's wrong with you fucking people?"
H: "Nothing wrong with us..?"
L: "Tommy; Thomas Brown Hewitt, you get in here right now! Get her out of my sight."
--
None of them deserved a second chance. As soon as they stepped onto the property, they solidified their fate. The Hewitts view themselves almost as a necessary evil - Angels of Death, if you will. They kill who they do based on how 'sinful' they are. That includes how they treat the family. {Which I doubt is based on 'respect' being one of God's values - I think it's because of how prideful these people are.}
____
Luda fears God. She fears The Rapture. When Jesus walks the Earth to gather his sheep. The day he waltzes into the Hewitt household taking the form of a 'helpless draft-dodger.' When the molded wallpaper and dusty lace tablecloth aren't enough to hide the rotting carnage, seething beneath the decaying floorboards. As he takes his place at the table, looking down at the family -
"This is redemption, lady, that's what this is! Oh, you're all gonna pay for your sins, that's right! And especially you."
You.
The wailing. The begging. The prayers falsely spoken by your forked tongue.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, honey."
Liar.
A shepherd? No, - Vicious wolves clothed in the skin and cloak of the fallen guardian. Harboring the sheep to their intemperate slaughter - You selfishly feast upon.
Did you feel it?
Do you feel it now?
Whilst the blood spilt from between her legs; Staining your sheets - The same ones Mama's washed over and over for the same selfish reasons.
Rewarding, was it not?
Did the screeches of pain exhort you? - Ravish you. It feels good to take what you deserve.
Except you didn't deserve it; Did you, Charlie.
Not by my teachings - and certainly not by your mother's.
"You poor thing; Sweet mourning lamb. There's nothing you can do - It's already been done."
But she deserved it.
She sinned - Did she not?
And sinners don't deserve patience - Nor do they deserve mercy.
They're vessels possessed by the Devil - You were only doing what's best.
Clearing them out.
And the cowardly - I didn't teach my children to be cowardly, did I? No, I did not. You're not a coward, are you, Charlie? Most certainly not - Not with what you've done to serve your country. No; You're a hero.
Heroes don't rape
Our Hero.
Heroes won't yield
My Hero.
Coward.
And cowards heroes like you deserve a special place in hell Heaven.

I was listening to "I Don't Smoke" by Mitski and I couldn't help but think about Thomas Hewitt. There's something about that song that makes me think of him. Especially the lines:
Just don't leave me alone wondering where you are
I am stronger than you give me credit for
I feel that this can be taken in 2 ways. 1) his fear of losing his family of 2) how he'd feel if he had a S/O.
Thomas has been a victim of bullying and of his own mind. He has insecurities about his face, his mental state, and you could make the argument that he could also be insecure about his size. (Considering he towers over almost everyone he comes across. Its another thing that makes him different from most people.) He has to be strong and he knows he is. He also knows that he is the only able bodied member of his family. He knows they rely on him for a lot of things. If something happened to him the family would suffer. He'd be as strong as he could for them, if they asked him to be stronger then he'd find a way to be stronger for them.
If Thomas had a S/O he'd be terrified of the idea of them leaving. He probably need a lot of reassurance from his partner that he is good enough, that he is worthy of love, that he's not some brute. While I don't know if he'd try to keep his partner in the house locked away in the Hewitt house, assuming that he had met his partner through his job or somewhere in town, I do believe he'd want his partner within his line of sight. Once again, I feel like he would need a lot of reassurance from his partner. He'd need to be both told and shown that he is good enough as he is. I don't think that verbal reassurance would be enough for him. He'd been called all sorts of nasty things both to his face and behind his back. As his partner you'd have to dedicate time to show him that he is worthy of love.
Maybe I'm just relating too much to him and maybe slightly projecting onto him but I feel like over all I'm pretty spot on.
The lines:
If you need to be mean
Be mean to me
I can take it and put it inside of me
This section of the song makes me think about when he was being fired form the slaughter house. When that one guy called him a "dumb animal" he chose not to attack that guy. He seemed to have hesitated and contemplated hurting the man before putting the knife down and walked away. It was only when his boss insulted his family when he acted out violently. He killed the man not because the boss insulted him, but he insulted his family.
I think about Thomas a lot... I'm sure that is obvious with how much Tommy content I have been reposting lately. I see some of myself in him, obviously not the cannibalistic murderer part but in how he interacts with the world and some of his other characteristics.
I'm sorry if this seems disjointed or if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I just needed to get this out of my head. Let me know if ya'll agree with me or if ya'll have any differing opinions in the comments. :)
New stickers came in and this is my favorite bit of my laptop Iโve decorated. I got the horror stickers from Aliexpress and the rose stickers from a store in a mall close by. Iโm happy to have Carrie, Freddy, and Tommy stickers on my laptop. It feels a lot more personal than just a plain silver laptop.
