SOKKA CENTRIC FICS

Here are some Sokka centric fics! Most of these works are not labeled as Sokka centric and so it’s very hard to find! There’s only 64 fics out of 15019 fics 

Keep in mind I did not do any Zukka or Tokka fics bc I did not want to wade through that esp bc Zukka fics are 80% Zuko centric. It’s also possible that I missed some fics as, again, they are kinda hard to get a hold of. I literally had to block the Zuko tag at one point bc if Zuko was a character in the fic, it was going to be about Zuko, and it was just a lot to wade through to find that one fic where Zuko was a character but wasn’t the main character. I think my chrome shut down at some point which could have caused me to not include some fics. Basically I’m saying I didn’t get everything but I got MOST of it. Like 80% of it, even if I didn't include things I personally don't really like to read-sorry. Show this to anyone who says Sokka isn’t underrated! my man got 64 out of 15019 fics! 

Also, PLEASE KUDOS THESE STORIES 👏👏👏👏 so many of them have far too little kudos and deserve more love! I think bc ppl are kinda bad with tagging, some of these stories hardly get any hits! Give them some love. And reblog this so other Sokka stans don’t have to wade through so much fics like I had to (seriously I’ve seen some crazy fics you would not believe *shivers*) bc it’s hard to find a needle in a haystack

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What have I learned?? People who are writing a story about Sokka should tag that story as SOKKA CENTRIC. It’ll give ur fic more love, and make it easier for ppl who love Sokka to find a fic about him. Also, on tumblr you see all these great analyses on Sokka, with theories like Spirit sensitive!Sokka, or Sokka working for the white lotus, and yet there are hardly any fics on it??? The untapped potential?!?! We also have no idea what Sokka does in the future (still salty LOK) so this gives us a lot of room to imagine and create stories! Like I need a fanfic on how Sokka does wtf??? You’d have thought that with this atla renaissance and people gaining a new found respect and admiration for Sokka’s character, that there’d be more Sokka focused fics, but nope :( 

I’ve noticed that those who like Sokka don’t contribute to the fandom fic wise and guys we gotta step up (like I’m one to talk lol I’m gonna try and write some fics I swear!) 

Also if you still want more Sokka fics I suggest searching in the tags bender Sokka, water bender Sokka, and fire bender Sokka. I also suggest that you go to fanfiction.net. I know it’s old, but so is this fandom, which means a lot of fics are there too. It’s easier to wade through the fics on fan fiction.net than AO3 simply bc of how little tags you can put there, so if Sokka is tagged, you know he actually plays a part in the story (no shade on AO3 I love it but sometimes it’s hard to find stuff bc the tagging system relies on the people knowing how to use tags, and the avatar fandom does not, but that’s bc it’s old)

Anyway, LOVE SOKKA MORE and don’t forget to reblog and let other ppl get access to these fics bc I know I would have loved it if someone made an entire list! (And organized it lol I never thought I was capable of organizing)

Keep thinking about “I don’t think boomerang is coming back this time” and how Sokka realized he couldn’t save this kid they brought onto their team, how he wasn’t gonna be able to save Toph, wasn’t gonna be able to save himself, has no idea if Suki was still alright had no idea if zuko and his sister are alive has no clue where Aang is and he just was HIT with realizing “me and toph will die here and no one will know” like would he have let go? Would he let her fall rather than face the wrath of the firebenders? And then Suki shows up because she’s a badass but god for a moment they accept death and they’re k i d s

warner sibling dance!

Been experiencing two polar thoughts about this scene…

1. There is no way Sokka is expecting to win this battle. He is the one and only warrior left in the village, about to face down a Fire Nation ship all by himself. Sokka has been the epitome of bravery since the very beginning.

2. Sokka can’t draw worth shit, and yet he sure can perfectly apply war paint on himself without even so much as a mirror aksdflj

Me @ the majority of atla fan content featuring the Gaang

Despite all the relationships inside tmnt 2012 and the guys having their ways of interacting with each other (a lot of the time fighting), it wasn't an abusive household...

Yeah it was different to how they portrayed them in Rise and how they were brought up had a massive effect on that, but taking what they had and calling it abusive is a major exaggeration. 2012 has portrayed the love the family had for each on countless occasions but that gets shoved under the rug as soon as they wanna compare it to Rise.

Both iterations showed a great example of what it's like to have brothers, the good and the dirty stuff, but they both had just as many links to the other as well as the differences both shows have

Nah fam 2012 was abusive asdfhjk. No parent is perfect, but the was 2012 Splinter overtly favored Leo to the point where, after his death he only addressed Leo specifically when his other grieving sons were right there. He also never gave them the choice, he put them in a feud with a man he had beef with. He made them soldiers, and pushed specifically both Leo and Donnie to breaking points bc they were under such pressure to find and cure Splinter’s daughter all while Splinter sat back and barely joined the search.

All of this is a byproduct of poor writing but it was still compelling if u looked at it through the lenses of “this is what happens when u live in a toxic, abusive household”. And 2012 could have been successfully less frustrating if they would have just acknowledged that this was intentionally meant to portray a sucky family dynamic instead of trying to play it off as normal.

Ultimately 2012 Splinter fostered the tense and strained relationships between his kids, didnt really make the important decisions and left a majority of it on Leo- who then projected his stress onto his brothers, namely Donnie. Then 2012 Splinter knew his favortism was causing Raph a lot of anger and hurt, and did nothing but teach him how to channel that anger...instead of ya know, not favoring Leo to an extreme. He also never spoke to Mikey asfdghjkkl

And when Leo got beaten into a coma, Splinter convinced him his pain was all in his head to get him to recover quicker just to send him out to fight his battles again. He also taught them healing hands mad late and only taught it to Leo and not Donnie who...was the family medic at the time.

Like cmon this is abusive atp! Still interesting! But still abusive!
