Been watching Yellowjackets recently and I may have some favourites…
saltburn is about a gay little freak fumbling a boy bad bitch so hard he decides to kill him and his entire family about it. and then he's like no yea I wasn't IN love with him or anything I just wanted to get their estate. drinking his cum and fucking his grave were necessary to the plan ok.
one of the biggest things I can advocate for (in academia, but also just in life) is to build credibility with yourself. It’s easy to fall into the habit of thinking of yourself as someone who does things last minute or who struggles to start tasks. people will tell you that you just need to build different habits, but I know for me at least the idea of ‘habit’ is sort of abstract and dehumanizing. Credibility is more like ‘I’ve done this before, so I know I can do it, and more importantly I trust myself to do it’. you set an assignment goal for the day and you meet it, and then you feel stronger setting one the next day. You establish a relationship with yourself that’s built on confidence and trust. That in turn starts to erode the barrier of insecurity and perfectionism and makes it easier to start and finish tasks. reframing the narrative as a process of building credibility makes it easier to celebrate each step and recognize how strong your relationship with yourself can become

May we please get more cute daddy Baal, Luci, and baby Cain facts pls? 🥺🥺
Baal loves Cain so so much. When Cain is a baby, Baal somewhat struggles with how to hold and care for him, but once he gets a hang of it, he really likes carrying him around (though clumsily). When Cain is a toddler, he really likes sitting him on a knee or on his shoulders. Baal will also stop whatever he's doing if he feels someone tugging on his tunic, then smile down at Cain, and scoop him into his arms.
One of the first things Lucifer ever did with infant Cain was lay some of his jewelry on him and watch him play with it. Lucifer carries baby Cain with him all the time, if not in his arms then wrapped up against his front or his back. Lucifer's favorite thing to do with young Cain is go out walking with him into the forest and teach him about flowers and nature. When Cain is older, Lucifer tries to be less fussy, but he stills scolds Cain if he's ever out too late or slightly injured for whatever reason or his clothes are askew. Whenever Cain isn't there, Satan is visibly sadder, at least in private, maybe sitting on a chair and staring at the fire place silently.
Oh and I think there's a little family-esque portrait of the three of them somewhere. It's probably not an ornate oil portrait or anything, but a painting of them a stone slab somewhere, just small enough for Lucifer to bundle, then have Baal carry when the migration happens. It's just Lucifer, Baal, and a very young Cain. I think an artist suggested it to Lucifer since Cain ages and they should try to immortalize this moment, and Lucifer decided it wouldn't hurt. (i think lucifer looks pretty stern but if you squint, you can see a tiny, soft smile)
Krobus is enjoying the new waterfalls...
is anyone else always desperately attempting to understand absolutely everything they possibly can about the human condition and experience in the futile hopes that they might understand themselves a bit better (if at all) by doing so.
or to at least find some sense of comfort. or relief.
