Decided to make my second Nevermore meme đ
I'm sorry.
âfluff with Gamin Yoon
Saint speaks; This feels like the only time i can actually be called dionsaint, because literally no fluff comes on my blog anymore , just hcs bcs why not
âââââââââââââââââ
シ・ ⺠⌠â Every moment with Gamin to you is a precious one. One so precious that you cherish and savor every last moment of it.
᯽ You love telling him about the things you notice about him, from how he smiles when talking with his mother and uncle, or talking about his friends in the Study Group.
᯽You both dont really go on things people would call dates, but rather just small outings. A coffee shop or a study room is what you two opt for.
᯽He makes memos & keeps dates of everything that happens in your relationship, from the day you first shared a meal, to your anniversary, down to when you both met eachothers parents.
᯽You frequently see his mom, willingly or not. She always wants to see you, make sure youâre eating well, doing good in school, and being a good example for her son.
᯽His uncle on the other hand is very weird out by the fact that youâre both so normal. You both have never drank, never been under the influence, or driven without an adult present. He says that you both should be out and about breaking laws.
᯽The study group cringes whenever they see you both together. Theres no nicknames or anything, but just pure adoration whenever you both are together <3
So since weâre making pacts with the 7 brothers again, do you think itâll be the same order?
I personally canât see Mammon making a pact with a stranger while his brothers need him.
I also donât see Levi being willing to make a pact with some random rn, mans got tons of deep rooted hatred for demons after fighting them for years
No idea,
But I think it makes the most sense if Mammon's the first because;
⢠Mammon being MC's first friend/companion/tour guide is consistent throughout different AUs in om! (that we see in events and devilgrams). So it'd be odd if that suddenly breaks off here?
⢠He's also instantly intrigued by them/interested in them when he meets them as an angel in the celestial realm. I just imagine this is a constant for Mammon?
⢠Mammon in S3 says he wouldn't make a pact with a random human. Which is exactly what he did in S1 because despite being intrigued by MC at the time he didn't know them. However, S3 also shows that MC wasn't a random human. They travelled back in time to when the brothers were still angels, made a lasting impression on the them (they encourage Mammon's dreams, laugh at his pranks that no one finds funny and according to him they keep staring at him despite being called out twice). And though MC's and the brothers' memories of this time are erased, Michael says that the effect of their presence will be felt. Angel! Asmo & Lucifer also dream of MC though they can't remember who exactly they're missing (which means the others definitely had similar dreams). So then Mammon's decision to make a pact with MC in S1 could have been subconsciously influenced by this encounter (and it was a decision because being much stronger + faster than Levi & MC he could have easily gotten Goldie back without having to make a pact). Nightbringer happens after that encounter in the Celestial Realm. So the impact of that encounter would, realistically, still be felt in Nightbringer. In other words, the brothers may still feel drawn towards MC/feel like they're familiar
⢠In S1, MC is also instantly comfortable with him (enough to talk back to him over and over again) while they're reserved with the rest of the brothers until right before/after they make the pact. They've also been called out multiple times (in the main storylines or chats or devilgrams or events) for having a bias towards Mammon. Beel in S1 also said that MC had a tendency to seek out Mammon to talk with him. <- MC, themself, might just gravitate towards Mammon without him having to do anything
⢠They also never register Mammon as a threat, even during circumstances where they should (vampire devilgram, first paws event, s1). They're comfortable enough with him that they start regularly sharing a bedroom in S1 before they're even proper friends. So again, they may just gravitate towards him.
⢠Like in S1, Mammon might be the only safe option for MC in the beginning. He's clearly the only one who's got his shit together right now, while the others are visibly heavily traumatised. He's the only one with no regrets about his decision/who seems to have come to terms with what happened. It makes less sense for the ones who are Going Through It to make a pact with a random ass human than the one who is actually (considering the circumstances) extremely well adjusted
⢠MC's being dropped into Nightbringer to be a therapist to the brothers during their worst moment of life. Previously, Mammon's the one who took on this role (as seen in "The Rulebook" Devilgram). As you said Mammon's brothers need him and literally the best thing he can do right now is team up with the person who's also trying to help them in the same manner he is. It makes so much sense for them to be working together towards their common goal from the beginning, than to be at odds with each other until they make a pact later on
⢠By the process of elimination, Mammon's the only one who's mentally in a place to make a pact right now. AND at this point his brothers see him as extremely competent (because he is) and reliable - someone who can do anything he puts his mind to. After they Fall he's calm and collected, he's the one who talks them down/soothes their injuires and nightmares. They trust him. They'll, therefore, be much more open to making a pact with MC if Mammon already has one, if they feel like Mammon trusts MC.
⢠Mammon was literally created by the writers to be MC's "sidekick". It'd be weird to suddenly break away from something that was a major defining point during the creation of his character
I don't know what order they'll go in to make the pacts but listen,
I'm not even saying this as someone who's simping for this idiot;
It's just, objectively, it makes much more sense for Mammon to be MC's first pact again, than for any of the others.
This is canon now. Wow
So @jayherrans (on ig) decided to add little snippet song (the next one to Unreleased Saga) about Athena being a wingman. WING-man. You get it? I love this with all my heart, so have a few sketches.
Hello! My current hyper-fixation and maladaptive daydreaming scenarios center around Epic the Musical, created by the amazing Jorge Rivera-Herrans!
However, because I have a female main character bias, I tend to imagine the songs as if they were sung by best girl Penelope.
Thankfully, two artists have went ahead and drew this into reality! @vioofc and @too-much-flynnolium (please check out their art, it is really good!)
Inspired by their works of perfection, I have went ahead and wrote the first of many vignettes based on this AU! There is also a version on Ao3, if you prefer that platform over Tumblr:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/59221033
More will be coming soon, so be on the lookout for that if you enjoy this kind of thing!
Some important notes before you begin reading:
In this AU, Ares and Artemis have worked together over the years to train a bunch of Greek women and make them formidable warriors. After Ares break his promise to Hera to support the Greeks during the Trojan war, he offers his favorite student and her closest sisters-in-arms to fight in the war (as Hera is in favor of women gaining more power and influence in the Greek world).
This is what leads to Penelope being forced to fight in the war. Odysseus and the men of Ithaca are not allowed to take the places of these women, as Athena (on Hera's orders) orders him to stay in Ithaca.
Telemachus is also a girl in this AU, because I say so!
Epic! Swap AU #1 - The King of Ithaca
Odysseus tries to cope with single handedly running his kingdom and raising his daughter without his loving Penelope by his side. Unfortunately, the first of his suitors have made themselves at home in his palaceâŚÂ
âOdysseus.âÂ
Odysseus did not respond to the call of his name. He did not want to leave his designated seat: the left side of the klines. It was picked out in collaboration with his wife upon their first week of marriage, with Penelope declaring that the right side belonged to her. Odysseus remembered laughing, saying that it made sense, âconsidering you are always rightâ.Â
The klines was placed in the side-corner of their bedroom balcony, with a perfect view of Ithacaâs beaches on one side and the villages of the common folk on the other. Penelope always loved this spot, for if she wanted she could see the sky kiss the ocean on one side, or the hustle and bustle of her people, satisfied and content with their lives, on the other.Â
He had a ritual for mornings. Every sunrise for the past 12 years, from the moment he wakes the King of Ithaca will spend a few minutes staring at the beaches surrounding his Kingdom; it was not long, but the minutes always lingered with a heavy sense of despair.Â
Itâs been so long since Odysseus last saw his wife lounging in this seat, beckoning him to join her in the morning whilst the kingdom was in a state of loving calm and peace.Â
âOdyâŚâÂ
Odysseus flinched, knowing the other only called him by that name when he was concerned.Â
Finally turning to look at his visitor, Odysseus saw Eurylochus leaned against the doorframe of his bedroom balcony. His best friend, his brother, was watching him with a sad look in his eyes.Â
âThey arenât coming back-â
âYou donât know that.â Odysseus yelled out sternly. Though he immediately regretted it when he saw Eurylochusâ shoulders slump as let out a heavy sigh.Â
âEury⌠I-Iâm sorry-âÂ
âItâs okay, Ody,â Eurylochus said with a small but sad smile. âI know.âÂ
Odysseus wanted to kick himself. After all, he and Eurylochus were stuck in the same horrible situation.Â
After all, both men were in a state of longing. Odysseus longed from the moment he first awoke alone in his big, empty bed. Eury, who too woke in a lonely bedroom, longed in the exact same way.Â
Both men longed for the return of their wives: Queen Penelope of Ithaca and her best friend and second in command, Ctimene. Â
It had been 12 years since the God Ares ordered his favored student, Penelope, and her sisters-in-arms (trained by the God of War and Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis) to Troy on his behalf, all to âmake upâ with Hera after first siding with the Trojans on Aphroditeâs request.Â
Odysseus remembered how he pleaded, begging to fight in his wifeâs place, pride be damned! Especially since it had only been months since Penelope had given birth to their beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately, not even the Kingâs friendship with Athena could have spared his wife of her mentorâs decree; nor could it spare the many other women trained in the art of bloody war.Â
It took 10 years for the war to end; Helen was reunited with Menelaus and the royalty of Troy were killed off to the last drop of blood. Rumors circulated within the Greek world that Penelope had a great hand to play in their victory, but the specificities were never clarified.Â
The people of Ithaca could never forget the look of pure joy in their Kingâs eyes upon first hearing the news. However, whilst they thought their Kingâs happiness was because of his wifeâs cunning and battle prowess being praised by all who could speak, those closest to Odysseus knew the truth.Â
Odysseus was ecstatic that his wife was finally coming home.Â
Penelope would once again be inside his arms, her warmth and scent no longer reduced to a distant memory. The people of Ithaca would once again have their queen, and Telemachas could finally meet the mother she had heard so many wonderful stories about.Â
Thatâs how things should have been by now; and yet, 2 years after the war ended, the wives and daughters of Ithaca had still not returned.Â
Presumed to now be widowers, the husbands and fathers of Ithaca reacted in very different ways. Many remarried, desperate to once again have their homes filled with the comfort of a wife and care of a mother. The rest could not bear the thought of remarriage, taking up vows of celibacy in honor of their fallen wives and praying to the Gods that their love alone would be good enough for their children.Â
The one thing they all had in common: they knew their wives to be dead.Â
This was where Odyesseus differed from them all.Â
His people, Eurylochus, and now even Polites had tried telling him how likely it was that Penelope perished at sea. They reminded him that as the King of Ithaca, it was his duty to find a new Queen that could help rule and lead their Kingdom to prosperity. This was the standard procedure for Royalty in Greece.
But Odysseus was never one to follow the standard procedure.Â
âSome of our⌠visitors⌠are making themselves at home in the throne room.â Eurylochus reminded Odysseus of the very thing he was trying to avoid. âTheyâre asking when youâll go to see them.âÂ
Odysseus couldnât mask his frustration.Â
2 years. Thatâs all those selfish dogs had given him to âmournâ for the love of his life, for the mother Telemachas never had the chance to know.Â
And now that the two years were up, they expected him to move on.Â
âAlready?â Odysseus commented as he rose from his seat, almost impressed with his âguestsâ desperation. âHelios hasnât even placed the sun in its morning spot.â
âCâmon, you and I know human nature better than anyone.â Eurylochus scoffed, looking down to see the Palaceâs yards beginning to pack with various women and their guards. âWho would ever resist the chance to obtain more power?âÂ
~
Odysseus, now wearing his royal chiton, walked down the halls of his palace with his head held high. Eurylochus walked by his side, hand strategically placed near the handle of his broadsword in order to quickly protect his King from strangers with ill intent.Â
Eurylochus tried to lead Odysseus away from the hall of bedchambers, but the King stubbornly stopping in front of a familiar door forced both men to stop in their tracks.Â
âOdy!â Eurylochus whispered-yelled through his teeth, obviously stressed beyond all doubt.Â
âOne second.â Odysseus had already pulled out a key he trusted only to himself, quietly unlocking the door. âI just want to check on her.âÂ
Odysseus could feel Eurylochusâ glare, but he knew his brother was not too bothered by his actions. After all, his most proud and precious achievement in life slept peacefully behind the once locked door.Â
Telemachasâ chest rose and fell in a slow, steady rhythm. The princess was curled up in the middle of her bed, smiling in what must have been a pleasant dream. Laying right beside her was Argos, who had awoken the second she saw someone trying to enter her ownerâs room. The dog immediately returned to sleep though when she saw it was only her past owner checking in on his pup.Â
For a second, Odysseus forgot about the devastating cataclysm that was his life.Â
He forgot that Athena was angry at him for allowing his wife to aid the Goddessâ rival brother, despite them both not having a choice. He forgot about the low morale his kingdom now felt, having lost their daughters, sisters, wives, and mothers. He forgot the anxiety he felt at the thought of betraying Penelope by marrying another far less worthy of her title as Queen of Ithaca.Â
In that second, he even managed to forget that Penelope was no longer by his side; for a younger, less turmoiled version of her slept so happily within the safe haven of her room.Â
A sudden mirthless chuckle, a depressing one, roused Odysseus from his thoughts.Â
âSometimes I wonder what mine and Ctimeneâs would have looked likeâŚâÂ
Odysseus felt his heart twist in pain at those words. He remembered how excited his sister was at the prospect of a child, especially after having met her niece. Eurylochus spoke to him in private about how excited he was to soon be a father and give Telemachas a friend.Â
Imagine that: both couples laughing as they watched Polites and Circe play with the children, basking in the warm sun and ocean breeze of a peaceful summerâs day.Â
So much they could have had, if not for the will of the Gods.Â
âEurylochus-â
âWe really need to go.â Euryâs frown was quick to disappear. âI donât think theyâll appreciate waiting any longer.âÂ
Though he could hide the sorrow on his lips, Eurylochus could not mask the despair in his eyes. However, even if Odysseus wanted to stay and probe, all to better comfort his friend, he knew that Eurylochus was right.Â
If he wanted to keep the piece in his palace, he didnât have a moment to lose.Â
~
Odysseus and Eurylochus knew the throne room was busy due to the various voices coming from behind the closed doors.Â
âWhatâs the hold up!?â
âWeâve been waiting for two hours!âÂ
âWhy canât we find the King ourselves?!âÂ
They all sounded feminine. And very annoyed.Â
âLadies, please!â Politesâ muffled voice sounded from the other side of the doors. âThe King will arrive in just a moment! So, in the meantime, why donât we all conduct ourselves in a polite, orderly fashion?âÂ
Another chorus of exasperated groans; if there were any words spoken then they were undecipherable due to the sheer loudness of the crowd.Â
Odysseus saw Eurylochus toss him a look, one that had âI told you soâ written all over it.Â
Ody let out a deep breath, praying to the Gods above that he looked much more confident than he felt. With a nod to the other, Eurylochus took the hint and made his way to the double doors of the throne room.Â
He threw the doors open, attracting the attention of every guest within the throne room, welcome or otherwise.
Eurylochusâ booming voice could be heard from every corner of the large room:
âPresenting the King of Ithaca, Odysseus!âÂ
Everyone within the throne room, friend, suitor, or guard, either kneeled or bowed at the sight of the King of Ithaca.Â
Odysseus paid them no mind; he stared straight ahead at nothing in particular as he walked to his throne. He sat in the left royal seat, despite royal customs declaring he sit in the right. The right seat belonged to Penelope, and Penelope only.Â
He would make sure every suitor in his palace remembered this.Â
He took note of the amount of women littering his throne room, 32 in total. So far.Â
Odysseus knew he had to find a way to delay this âinevitableâ remarriage. If not for his fidelity and loyalty to Penelope, then for the sake of his daughter. Who knows what would happen to her if he remarries, for what Queen would allow the daughter of her predecessor to take the throne?Â
No, he needed to be smart and tactical about this. Telemachas was already 12, well on her way to 13. All he had to do was keep his suitors at bay for 8 more years, then the princess would be allowed to ascend to the throne without any complaints from his adversaries.Â
He could do this. He will find a way. For himself. For Telemachas. For Penelope.Â
~
Odysseus didnât notice the look one suitor in particular gave him from the moment he walked into the throne room.Â
She couldnât look away from his body; his tanned, lean, toned body. Oh, how his chiton stuck to his waist and showed off his fit figure. The way the fabric couldnât cover his abs at a certain angle. The way one of his pecs was in full view, teasing the wonderfully flat mound of flesh that was begging to be bitten.Â
He was beautiful.Â
He was perfect.Â
He was hers.Â
Based on rumors circulating around the palace, it appeared that he planned to make his remarriage a difficult process for his suitors.Â
That was fine.
She can be patient. No matter how long it took, sheâd find a way to force him to accept her. After all, she was blessed by Zeus himself. Anything she wanted would belong to her. Â
Ithaca. The Right Throne. Odysseus.
One day, all of it will bear her name.Â
Calypso.

<This is Part 37!>
* The ground beneath you feels thin, like the fragile crumbs of a flakey biscuit
* You open your eyes and see dust
* No, not dust, sand
* You sit up with a groan.
* Sand extends out as far as the eye can see, piled high in sand dunes, only interrupted by sparse growths of pale green plants that look like grass but meaner
* You hear water in your ears, and you think your fall into the ocean might have permanently affected your hearing
* But you turn around and thereâs the ocean
* âItâs purple.â
* You didnât think the ocean could be purple.
* Weirder things have happened.
* Youâre tempted to sit down, back into the crumbling beach, and to stare at the mesmerizing purple tide drawn back and forth. The sky dulled gray overhead, the rocks in the sea the only constellation you need.
* You squint.
* Thatâs not a rock, thatâsâ
* âDad?â
* Youâre up then, running towards him.
* The closer you get the more familiar he becomes. Heâs wearing a black turtleneck and a pair of slacks, they look new. And heâs staring off into the ocean.
* âDaddy!â you call out as you wrap your arms around him.
* He feels warm, and you take a deep breath in, relishing in the scent of amber and peonies.
* âWhat are you doing here?â you ask..
* You look up, and you see a hint of confusion trace his face until he sees your face and itâs replaced by suprise.
* A scarred hand cups your cheek, the affection conveyed through the action insurmountable.
* His gaze softens until his eyes are so warm it feels like youâre melting under his gaze.
* âWhy didnât I see it before?â he whispers, and your head tilts.
* See what?
* âYou look just like your mother.â His thumb caresses your cheekbone, and you swallow hard.
* He never really talks about her.
* He used to before, when you were a kid and you thought your mom was some minor goddess.
* He always said she was the love of his life though
* Is that why he stayed?
* Youâre not ready to talk about this.
* âYou know, youâre the only one who says that. Everyone else thinks I look like you.â
* âEveryone else?â he asks, confused when his hands leave your face and rest on your arm
* The symbols of the gods lighting up
* âWhen did you meet all of them?â
* You guess heâs never seen all of the marks at once, thinking back you donât think youâve ever mentioned most of them.
* âUm, well, you got the ones from Hades and the others when I was too young to remember.â You always picture your father with you wrapped in a golden yellow blanket, showing you to all the gods and letting them caress your small arm with gentle fingers, painting a mark in their place.
* âI got the one from Circe that summer I had to save you,â he coughs but you pay it no mind. âOh, and I got the one from Dionysus before that, I donât think I have one from Hecate but theyâve mentioned it before, Heraâs was last spring, and the ones from Ares and Hermes are newââ
* âAre they,â your father interrupts you, looking at you with a tense expression you canât quite place.
* âAre they trying to make you a hero?â
* Thereâs so much anguish in his face you canât look him in the eye, instead you focus on your feet, bare and pressed into the jagged sand
* âMaybe, but I donât want to be a hero, I told you that.â
* You have no interest in glory, not even in the name of your fathers honor.
* âI just want to save my friends.â
* He squeezes your face between his hands, brushing your hair back.
* âYouâre a kind child arenât you?â
* Heâs never said you were kind before.
* Heâs never had to, you know he thinks highly of you from the way he supports you
* But something about hearing what youâve always suspected makes it truth, and it brings tears to your eyes
* âI learned it from you.â
* You see his watery eyes and smile before youâre enveloped in a sea of light so bright youâre forced to close your eyes, and when you open them youâre met with the sight of turquoise water
* The ocean is blue, you think
* Youâre dazzled by the sight of blue sky melting into the ocean, the sound of the waves, and the loneliness you feel that you donât notice the heavy sensation cloaked around you isnât from mere exhaustion
* Not until you see the tanned arm placed against gravelly rock, an arm with unfamiliar veins and muscle definition, and arm that definitely isnât yours.
* You stir and notice thereâs another arm wrapped around your midsection and itâs grip tightens around you.
* â(Y/N).â The voice is familiar, and you relax when you hear it.
* Of course, everything adds up now
* When you feel from the stern of the ship, he must have caught you before you fell in, saving you from the perils of the sea.
* But the tremor in Percyâs voice doesnât keep you relaxed for long. âI need you to be calm okay?â
* Calm?
* Why would you need to be calm?
* And then it hits you like a pile of bricks.
* Of course.
* Percy is a good boy, but heâs still just an adolescent teenager. Youâre his friend but itâs perfectly natural.
* Your tongue is geared to tell him that much, analogies about how a body is just like a computer and when you put in a function it gives a responseâcompletely normal
* Your head tilts up, and you see a flicker of gold.
* Eyes wide, as you take in the outstretched jaw as the creature yawns.
* âIs that a lion?â Percyâs grip on you tightens in affirmation.
* Your eyes narrow, thereâs something familiar about the sight of a female lion, a thin gold chain glints around her neck, and you realize why.
* You extend your hand.
* âWhat the heck are you doing?â Percy hisses as loud as he can. âYouâre going to get your armââ but he stops when the lion gives your hand an intent sniff, and then kicks your palm.
* âThatâs you, isn't it a Hypatia?â
* She nuzzles her face against your hand.
* âClymenstra,â you whisper.
* Sheâs sent her favorite, she must know youâre here
* You hear a mutter from Percy, something equal parts incredulous and impertinent that you canât entirely make out
* Being near the sea makes you weak, because when you move to stand it feels like your entire body is pinned under the weight of the ocean, itâs a small miracle you can even breathe
* Percy has to hold you up, and though reluctant, he finally relents and places you on Clymenstraâs back.
* "So that really was just your sword?" You mumble, and he looks at you with a confused expression that confirms your doubt. You'll consider it a small victory for now.
* Her forest passes by you in a flurry of green and orange, you manage to stay awake long enough to see the familiar orange shingle on her Mediterranean cottage, the green of rosemary and thyme that had grown unruly in her garden, and begun to creep on the staccato walls of her cottage.
* Gold eyes, like Liquid sunlight, drenched in concern youâve only ever seen from your Father
* âCirce, itâs okay.â Is the thought that struggles to creep of my tongue, but all that passes through my lips is her name before darkness overcomes me once again.
