Like yeah, Sam deserves better, but why is everyone acting like Bucky did this all by himself and that he needs to defend him all the time

What people need to understand is that it isn’t just that dialogue that’s disrespectful to Sam, it’s also the fact that we’re seeing Bucky put together and lead a team, before we ever get to see Sam, Captain America, put together and lead a team. It’s the fact that the team gets revealed as The New Avengers, before we get to see Sam with his Avengers. It’s the fact that the Fantastic Four is probably the MCU project that most of the MCU fandom, and most casual viewers too, are excited about seeing this year, and instead of having their ship show up in a Brave New World post credit scene — something that would make sense considering, again, that Sam is Captain Fucking America, and you’d think Captain America would be the first to know about an incoming spaceship — it shows up in a Thunderbolts* post credit scene.

It’s like they’ve been giving and keep giving Bucky moments and plots that rightfully should’ve been given to Sam too or to Sam alone. Bucky gets therapy, love interests, flashbacks, a cameo in another movie, and now a team, not only a team but a team being called Avengers 🙄, and it’s suspect as hell.

If TPTB at Disney/Marvel respect Sam the character or Anthony, the actor who has done such a great job for them over the years, then they should damn well start acting like it!

Well, it’s not like Sam’s fans aren’t used to seeing people talk shit about him. So many people in the MCU fandom seem to hate him for simply existing. But, still, we really should prepare ourselves, because we’re about to see the dumbest, most offensive fucking takes about Sam that we’ve ever seen in our lives, and it’s all thanks to that dumbass post credit scene. People who already didn’t like Sam and even people who were ambivalent about the character are going to use a scene he wasn’t even in to talk so much weird hateful shit. They’re about to call that man everything but a child of God. In fact, they’re already starting.
