𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲

Ekko x Black! Fem Reader

A/N: this is more self indulgent than anything 😭

Recently, you've taken the liberty of tending to Ekko's locs for him. 

It goes without saying that between firelight duties and underside stuff, he has practically no time for hair care. He was currently letting you wash his hair in your bathroom, head leaned back into the sink. His eyes were first trained on you, then they moved to the ceiling, eventually sliding closed once he was comfortable. 

You favorite part of wash day is watching allll the tension slowly melt away from his face as you gingerly lather shampoo into his white locs, massaging his scalp. It's an expression you rarely get to see with how hard-pressed he's been lately.

With the day and age you were living in, you were always around people who possessed inexplicable abilities; magical even. You weren't anything like them- you couldn't invent intricate little gadgets, or whip up chemical concoctions- (and you damn sure couldn't manipulate time) But to Ekko, they had nothing on you, because you could take his pain away. And that was more special and rewarding than any supernatural power could ever be. 

You'd soon finished washing his hair and instructed him to go sit by your bed while you opted for some music- an r&b oldies playlist, of course- tunes winding out from your speaker softly. You gathered all the necessities- gel, rattail comb, mini clips. 

Meanwhile, Ekko sat on your floor with heavy, damp hair, resting against the foot of your bed. He watched you bustle about the bedroom with this relaxed, far-off look in his eyes, subconsciously nodding his head along to the music playing softly from your speaker. Seeing him in this state, so comfortable, and safe..made you feel all warm inside.

You were now sitting on the edge of your bed, your lover sitting calmly between your legs.

Ekko never did much talking during evenings like this. But you never minded, the silence was always comfortable. Granted, he'd always be exhausted and it hurt you to see him worked to the bone like this so you were glad to soothe him in any way you could. You softly hum the melody of the song that's playing as you retwist his locs. You'd been at this for about an hour and a half now, finishing up.

You lubricated his scalp with tea tree oil and some other mielle brand hair product with a nice scent. You carefully ran your fingers over the neat parts when you were all done. You put one of your satin bonnets on him for good measure and pat the top of his head twice.

"Alright, you're all done." You hum.  

Ekko stirs to life, blinking his eyes open slowly. It's only now that you realize he had been half-asleep against the inside of your thigh. 

"Mm- thank youu," he slurs, turning around to look at you with sleepy eyes and a dopey smile on his face. And you can tell he means it. Your heart swells. 

"Mhmm," you respond sweetly, no words needed to express he's always welcome. He stands and stretches, you following suit.

A few seconds go by and suddenly, you feel strong arms wrap around you and pull you into an affectionate hug. You falter for a moment, taken aback at first- but you soon relax into him, reciprocating it. He closed his eyes, head hanging over your shoulder- and you feel how much he needed this. 

Moments pass as you two stand flush against one another contently, him oozing with silent gratitude. And then you feel his arms slide down to your back to tighten around you, and you realize that you just might have needed this more than him.  

You pressed your cheek into his chest as he held you, you two beginning to slowly sway side to side together, in time with the music.

You two were just slow dancing in the middle of your bedroom now. You feel Ekko slide one of his hands down to yours, interlocking your fingers and raising your arm to spin you around. You let him, becoming putty in his hands and now it's your turn to smile goofily. He pulls you close by your waist, enclosing your torso, you two now back-to-front as you rocked to the beat. You tilted your head back and closed your eyes, just being one with him, the both of you in absolute bliss.

Eventually, you turned around to face him and craned your neck to capture his lips in a kiss. He happily kissed back, leisurely and passionate, like you had all the time in the world. His hands snaked down to your hips and squeezed tenderly. 

That seemed to awaken something in you though- you, gradually backing Ekko up into the edge of your bed until he found himself on top of it- and you on top of him. Your lips continued to dance in this heated fashion, the both of you becoming handsy. You push Ekko down on the bed relatively rough, breaking the kiss. His pretty eyes widened, blinking up at you a few times- he didn't mind, he just wasn't expecting it.

You, however, misread his expression and your stomach begins to turn in embarrassment. You immediately start apologizing profusely. 

"S-sorry, I- you're probably tired, I just got a little carried away-" you sputter, moving to get off of him- but 2 strong hands grab your thigh and waist at lightnings speed, effectively stopping you. 

You froze as he trapped you. Hazel-brown eyes bore into yours. He shook his head.

"I'm absolutely fine." He reassured. It dawned on you that this man knew your body better than anyone and had probably long since noticed the telltale signs of you getting worked up: how your heart was pounding, and the way you couldn't seem to stop squirming and squeezing your thighs together. You now felt a little silly for even trying to get off him.

"Hey; you took care of me all evening. Now let me take care of you."

And with that, he pulls you back down on top of him, his lips latching onto your neck slowly.
