something that i've always found really funny is catra's s5 plot armor, or rather, design armor i suppose.
to start with, adora (and bow and entrapta) had no idea catra was with glimmer on the velvet glove.
so they rescue her, and surely her chipped outfit, which she's wearing, is the only one she has after prime discarded her former horde uniform.
but then we see her in the same pajamas that she wore in the fright zone, just without the horde symbol, and remember that adora's looks different.
in the next episode, she's wearing an alternate version of her previous red & black uniform, which there's no way could been packed on the journey to save only glimmer, and they wouldn't have cared about leaving replaceable clothing behind on the ship.
also another thing i want to point out is that the back of the torso is mostly removed, likely by catra's claws due to the fact it had the horde symbol on it and she was now part of the rebellion. but i'm not counting this part since it makes sense.
anyway, she gets a whole space suit made for her by entrapta, who, again, wasn't aware catra wasn't on etheria anymore, let alone would want to leave prime.
and here's a bonus just because i can't tell: was this cloak made with a place for her cat ears to fit into, or is she just poking through the original fabric?
overall, this isn't a plot hole and i don't actually care about these inconsistencies since it's not a serious issue, if one at all. but this has always been something i wanted to share with the fandom since i love details!

Communication is a human right! We demand access to whatever form of communication we choose, including unconditional access to Augmented and Alternative Communication technologies.
We demand autonomy over our own bodies and rightful decision-making powers over our own lives as we see fit.
We demand freedom from police brutality and all forms of abuse, including seclusion and physical and chemical restraint in schools and hospitals, and we demand freedom from all forms of violence, including filicide.
We demand that the shameful Judge Rotenberg Center in Canton, Massachusetts—and all other institutions like it—be shut down. #StopTheShock
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is conversion therapy for autistics. We demand freedom from all oppressive “interventions” or “treatments” and quack “cures” for Autism which seek to rob us of what—and who—we are.
We demand unsegregated access to an education alongside our peers.
We demand access to our own communities and our own cultures, and we demand access to knowledge of our people’s history!
We demand meaningful employment and an end to sub-minimum wage for all disabled people.
The way we move is political, and we demand freedom from all pressures to “behave” in accordance with neurotypical standards. Embrace the stim!
We must commit to cross-disability solidarity and cross-movement solidarity.

Learning anything about marine mammal training will make you re-evaluate so much of your relationship with your own pets. There is so much force involved in the way we handle domestic animals. Most of it isn’t even intentional, it just stems from impatience. I’m guilty of it myself!
But with the exception of certain veterinary settings where the animal’s health is the immediate priority, why is it so important to us that animals do exactly what we want exactly when we want it? Why do we have to invent all these tools and contraptions to force them to behave?
When a whale swam away from a session, that was that. The trainer just waited for them to decide to come back. If they flat out refused to participate in behaviors, they still got their allotment of fish. Nothing bad happened. Not even when 20-30 people were assembled for a procedure, and the whale chose not to enter the medical pool. No big deal. Their choice and comfort were prioritized over human convenience.
It’s almost shocking to return to domestic animal medicine afterwards and watch owners use shock collars and chokers and whips to control their animals. It’s no wonder that positive reinforcement was pioneered by marine mammal trainers. When you literally can’t force an animal to do what you want, it changes your entire perspective.
I want to see that mindset extended to our domestic animals.

Hi everyone! Let’s take a look at one of the most important callbacks in She-Ra, “It doesn’t matter what they do.” This phrase is very important because it is a part of Adora’s and Catra’s childhood promise to one another. Just as Catra’s and Adora’s relationship and the status of their promise evolve over time, the context in which we hear this line also changes.
01x11 “Promise”: Chronologically, this is the first time we hear the phrase “it doesn’t matter what they do.” The scene takes place after Shadow Weaver hurts Catra, despite Adora’s efforts to prevent this. Finding Catra alone and upset, Adora makes a promise with Catra that they will protect one another, no matter what hardship befalls them: “You look out for me, and I look out for you. Nothing really bad can happen as long as we have each other.”
01x02 “The Sword Part 2″: In this scene, Catra confronts Adora and attempts to renew their promise to one another. Unfortunately, it seems that she and Adora have diverging perspectives on their place in the world. Despite Shadow Weaver’s abuse, Catra is content to remain within the Horde with Adora and rise through the ranks; she even describes the Horde as “home.” In contrast, Adora now sees the Horde as evil and cannot bear to fight for a malevolent cause, accepting her destiny as She-Ra instead. In this way, Adora breaks her promise with Catra.
05x03 “Corridors”: After years of conflict, Catra and Adora encounter a common enemy in Horde Prime. Catra regrets her past decisions and resolves to “do one good thing in [her] life” by saving Glimmer, who is Horde Prime’s prisoner. In doing so, Catra begins her process of redemption. Importantly, she renews her promise with Adora, in a self-sacrificing way. It doesn’t matter what Horde Prime does to her, but he will never get his hands on Adora. Catra is willing to suffer if it means that Adora will be safe.
05x05 “Save the Cat”: Although 05x03 is the last time we hear a variant of the phrase “It doesn’t matter what they do,” it’s worth noting that Adora also renews her promise with Catra in 05x05. She isn’t willing to let Catra go easily, and she insists that she will take Catra home. Of course, in this case, “home” doesn’t mean the Horde: it means being together, which is what they both wanted all along.
fuck why is disco elysium so good
thank you disco elysium for the best idle animation ive ever seen
Ugh I don’t have time to write the fic yet so here’s what keeps bonking around my brain
Jayce becomes Viktor’s internal monologue for taking care of himself and his chronic issues.
It takes months of observation before Jayce starts piping up when he knows Viktor is doing something that will cause him pain later.
First it’s just big things— moving him to the couch when he falls asleep on the desk. Getting him a rolling stool and then making him sit on it when he’s spent too long standing at the chalk board.
Then it becomes smaller things. When Viktor has his bad leg bent across his other knee, twisting his back and hip and leg all in the wrong direction, Jayce will come over with a chair and a pillow to prop it on. Jayce clears all of the top and bottom shelves in the lab, only having things that are within Viktor’s normal range of motion. He tuts when ever he hears Viktor get up to go across the lab briefly without his cane, not even looking up as he goes “nuh uh” until viktor sighs and picks the damn thing up. “It’s only 12 steps, Jayce, I can go 12 steps” “you make that walk 25 times a day. It’s adds up.” He’s even started setting an alarm for 2 pm every day where he makes them both stop and do stretches to combat the stiffness of sitting and writing for hours on end.
Slowly, viktor’s internal voice that tries to remind him that something he’s doing will make him hurt later shifts to sound like Jayce. “Be nice to yourself, V” “that’s gonna hurt later, don’t do that” “if you leave your leg like that you’ll have a hard time walking home.” Even things that Jayce has yet to see, like the correct configuration of pillows on his bed, the way that he has to lay his arms so that his back doesn’t tweak in his sleep, start getting corrected in his mind with a “nuh uh” instead of the usual “whatever”
By the first anniversary of their meeting, every thought he has that encourages him to be kind to himself comes in Jayce’s voice, Jayce being so synonymous in his mind with the desire to treat himself well and be mindful of his limits. Jayce has no idea how much of viktor’s routine now consists of choices fueled by the thought that Jayce would be disappointed if he knew he was doing something that would cause him pain later all because Jayce can’t help but love viktor until he loves himself.
