I think this happened in 'odysseus'
Telemacus: *fighting against the suitors, holding his ground but he's slipping*
Telemacus: *sees ody in the shadows, bow aimed at him and the suitors*
Telemacus: *stops fighting abruptly and goes slack*
Suitor: haha, got him
Ody: finally I can actually shoot my damn bow without hitting my kid
4 year old nephew leaned over to look at my phone screen, pointed at Cass Cain, and said "that's Batban"
This is my fav ship
So, like, I'm sleep deprived and it's midnight where I'm at, but
It would be so cute that while Cass was running away from David Cain, Cass met Danny! She flips Dash onto his back, and Danny was so amazed, he decided to buy Cass a burger from the last of his allowance as thanks.
Cass was so hungry, she just accepted it, and ate while being seated comfortably in the booth.
She didn't know what the boy was talking about, but she learned: the bright sometimes round light is called the moon, and the tiny bright dots in the dark sky are stars.
The boy who is talking to her feels like them.
"Star," she said, getting his attention.
The boy lets out a confused, "Huh?" before Cass points to him. "Star."
The boy was a few seconds confused more, before realizing, "Me? I'm a star?"
Cass shook her head. She points to herself. "Cass." Then she points to Danny. "Star."
"Oh!" the boy exclaimed, before laughing himself silly. "No, no, no!" he said. "I'm Danny! I'm not a star! But I'd like a constellation named after me!"
Cass shook her head. She points to Danny. "Danny. Star." Then she points to herself. "Cassandra. Cass."
"I THINK I GET IT NOW!" Danny said, slightly standing from his seat in excitement. "I'm nicknamed Star! Is that it? I'm Star?"
Cass nodded fervently.
"Hot Fudge!" Danny cheered. When he calmed down, he turned to Cass with a wide grin, and points to her, "Moon."
Cass' eyes widen, then, she smiles a smile full of teeth, close to letting out a laugh. She points to herself. "Moon." And then to Danny, "Star."
The interaction is cut short when Cass catches sight of David Cain prowling along the streets.
She hastily gets up and runs away, never looking back even as Star calls for her.
Years later, they meet again...
When this time he is running away from his own David Cain.
They don't recognize each other at first.
He knocks the assassin that had been chasing Cass unconscious.
From her first meeting with Star, she made a tradition of treating people to burgers when they helped her. So, as she hears her ghostly savior's stomach grumble, she invites him to Batburger.
It is here she realizes that she recognizes him. Somewhat. So she asks about the galaxies and constellations, and if there is a constellation named "Danny" yet.
Danny widens his eyes. "Moon," he breathes out.
Cass puts a hand over his free one.
"Star."
❤❤❤
While this was going on, a bunch of birds and a bat were watching far away, almost all of them with binoculars.
Dick: "B. Please stop growling. And Little D, copying B will hurt your throat."
I love it, thank you~ TAT

One of my favorite sub genres is Asian assassins with questionable morals
There's a serious comparison to be made between how Barbara fails as a teacher for Cass and how Cass fails as a teacher for Stephanie. Barbara's brain is biological supercomputer with an eidetic memory which can learn a new language in like five minutes. Cassandra is likewise superhumanly talented at fighting.
In both cases these aren't just learned skills to them. Cassandra's fists and Barbara's mind are core to their identities. They're the things that make them heroes, that give them agency, that make them matter, it's who they are. The reason they have no patience for teaching these skills to others is they're incapable of contextualizing a world without them.
Barbara can't teach Cass because the prospect of a life without language is simply inconceivable to her. Likewise, Cassandra can't teach Stephanie because she has no context at all for what learning to fight must be like for other people without her natural affinity. Their respective talents are so core to their being that people who can't do what comes easily to them must simply not be trying hard enough.
Ironically it's one of the very few ways in which they're actually extremely alike.
The Batgirls
Alt under cut
Silly Batfam headcanon that David Cain (who introduced his daughter to a lot of his contacts during her upbringing) in his younger days used to be... a lot more involved in politics.
So, one seemingly slow day in a certain american inteligence agency:
CIA agent, entering the room in a panic: Sir, Bruce Wayne has-
Head of the pentagon: The playboy millionaire? Why do I care what he has done?
Agent: Because he has publicly adopted Cassandra Cain, sir!
Pentagon head: Cassandra Cain?
Agent: Yes, sir.
Head: Daughter of internacional assassin David Cain?!
Agent: The one, sir.
Head: THE GUY WE HIRED TO KILL KENNEDY AND COVER IT UP THIRTY YEARS AGO??????
Agent: Exactly.
Head: I thought her daugther had disappeared and was missing or something, how has she been adopted by Bruce Fucking Wayne?!
Agent: We're looking into it. She's using forged legal documents but it's definitely her, should we arrest her?
Head, grabbing the agent by the collar: That's the girl who beat every single UN-wanted assassin on earth before her age hit double digits, you idiot! If you so much as lay a finger on her she will break it and then come after me for seconds, no one touches her!
Agent: Ok, sir, put me down, please. *Head lets go of him* Should we put all of Wayne Mannor under official protection, then?
Head: Yeah, yeah, that sounds about right, wouldn't want something bad to happen to Cain's new father that could send her on a vengeance quest.
Agent: Do you think the Batman knows the Waynes are harboring the singular most dangerous non-meta teenager on Earth?
Head, about to have a heart attack: Oh, God, if the Batman goes after Wayne it could send Cain into a rampage. Establish emergency communications with Batman, appeal to his good nature, offer him whatever he wants, he can't go after Cassandra Wayne!
*One day later, on a rooftop in Gotham*
Batman: Speak, I'm busy.
Agent: Yes, I won't take much of your time. My bosses want to- who's that?
Batman, without turning to look at the figure behind him: That's Batgirl, my partner. But you were talking to me.
Agent: O-of course. Listen, there's a new dangerous criminal here in Gotham you will wanna hear about.
Batman: I thought your bosses didn't like working with me?
Agent: we don't wanna work with you. We want you to leave this criminal alone, as we believe she's looking to turn a new leaf. That, and she might probe a greater threat if provoked. *hands him pictures of Cassandra during the adoption announcement*
Batman, thirty years of poker face training:
Agent: She is Cassandra Wayne, new adopted daughter of Bruce Wayne.
Batgirl, noticing the inmediate shift to proud-happy-proud when the agent refered to her as his daughter:
Batman: I've heard about her, Bruce Wayne seems very fond of her already. Very well, I will leave her alone, she hasn't done anything bad as far as I've found in my investigation anyway.
Agent, sighing in relief, looking down a second to pocket the pictures: That's great to hear, it's a pleasure to- *looks up and both vigilantes have disappeared*
*a few roofs away*
Batman, walking in absolute silence:
Batgirl, pullings his sleeve: Fond of me?
Batman, nodding, red under the cowl: Fond of you.
Interviewer, catching Damian in costume: Robin! Can you explain the process of picking up Robin or passing on the mantle?
Damian, mildly annoyed at Bruce at the moment: It's quite simple. Batmam steals young children from their bed, usually nine or ten or so. Then he takes you to his lair and give you a deal.
Damian: If you can beat him in a game of your choosing, he will train you to be Robin. If you lose, you are eaten. I beat him in a classic fencing game. He's quite good with swords, but he wasn't very good with the sport itself.
Tim, standing next to him: Yeah, I beat him at a memory card game. I like totally cheated, but I'm too old for him to eat now, so ot doesn't matter.
Damian, nodding: Yes. The worst part of the job is disposing of failed Robins bones. He usually sucks them clean and leaves them all over the floor.
Tim: Yeah, its messy. But after you hit, like 15 he stops trying to eat you, so that's cool.
Damian: I have not yet reached 15. I'm still in danger. If you have more questions, ask Nightwing, as he was the first to avoid being eaten.
-
Same interviewer, at a different date: Mr. Nightwing. Is it true Batman tries to eat potential Robins?
Dick, who has no idea what she's taking about: Yeah, it's really scary. His jaw unhinges like a snake.

Gotham purple-clad female vigilantes that started off unaffiliated with the batfam due to their families criminal pasts and ended up being treated like shit by Bruce while working with him.
