Two things that can co-exsist:

-Writing overly personal fanfiction about real people can be super gross especially if you’re insisting its real, or dramatizing trauma

-Using real events/places & creating fictionalized versions of real people as a baseline for stories is a great way to get inspired and get creative

He loves using his powers for drama. 

When he arrives there is always a convenient gust of wind to blow his hair back dramatically; If someone says something serious there will be a sudden crack of lightning, etc. 

He’s got crazy good control of his abilities, to the point where even when he’s drunk he rarely does anything he doesn’t mean to. 

The exceptions tend to be when he’s both drunk AND particularly emotional.
