Does anyone else still have elaborate music playlists for stories you made up in your head and many OCs? Or is it just me? I'm also not embarrassed to admit I still pace around with music while imagining dramatic scenes from my stories. I might just be better at hiding it when someone else might come into the room HAHA.
I have learned over time to never give your characters placeholder names while creating them because while developing them you will absolutely get attached to the name to the point you don’t want to change it and ur epic character will be stuck with the dumbass name forever became it means too much to you
worldbuilding is what writers do when they want to justify a petty aesthetic choice
The real measure of a writer is what oddly specific tropes show up constantly in their work and make you question What Happened
Someone: Hey! How’s the writing going?
Me: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *clears throat* It’s going well.
Do other writers ever get this like, hyper-specific dialogue exchange drop into their brains and you know exactly where these character are standing and what they’re doing and how they’re saying these words but that’s all you get. You don’t have much other context and this specific moment that exists only at this time in your headspace??
