THE MAIL MOUNTS ARE DONE!!

Continuation of the snail mounts!!! Once again, these take long but they are super fun, especially trying to figure out how to saddle them. Here's some ramblings about them:

Pearl - she gets a chocobo! Mostly because I was thinking of chococraft at the time.

Etho - a very big grey wolf. The saddle is mechanic and shifts based on the wolf's position, that way it can sit down without Etho falling off!

Tango - a ravager of course! It's design is based mostly on a bison

I wanna make art of other things so I'm taking a break from these, but I still have a lot of ideas for other hermit's mounts!

I've been thinking about TSotS a lot lately, and I can't stop thinking about how I didn't realize BOTH of them didn't know eachothers hybrid status.

I've already talked a bit about how this effects Skizz and his perception of what's going on, but I've been thinking about Impulse a lot more.

At first, in one of the first chapters, 3, I think, when we first see impulses not-a-crush-crush on his angel classmate, and I thought it was fueled by his.. let's say growing fondness of his angel bestfriend (id specify "online" but... he doesnt seem like a very social creature)

But now that I know he doesn't know Skizz is an angel (which tbf i probably should have picked up on lol, i feel like if he knew it would have been a much more major plot point by now) it makes his crush feel a lot more real and present and important. Because at the end of the day, it is. His crush wasn't influenced by Skizz, making it (unknowingly) more important to him because this is his first crush, ever. He truly did just become enamored with an angel for seemingly no reason. And it's scary.

This makes for a couple interesting directions this story can take when he does eventually learn skizz is an angel (assuming that happens before he meets Skizz in person and they live happily ever after with no problems at all. Definitely.).

A) he becomes even more enamored with his classmate

B) full on falls head over heels for skizz

C) unintentionally ghosts Skizz (and avoids his classmate at all costs) because he's having multiple gay panic attacks ("skizz is an angel? Like that guy in my class? Are his wings as pretty? Is the guy just as nice as skizz?")

D) begins to put the dots together and starts to freak out... or alternatively does the opposite and sees no connection what so ever. Silly guy.

Or E) some secret 5th thing that only an author could come up with because being a writer is actually just playing 3D chess with the characters (and readers)

Also I'm so. So. normal about the apology pastries. I will not survive that interaction. (And for the sake of this ramble, we're not thinking about the outcome possibilities. Because i will be here for hours if i so much as think about how that will go down + the aftermath)

Insane rambles that make little to no sense, probably missing some stuff I wanted to mention, and also very rushed because. Well I need my thoughts on some kind of paper or I will explode/pos. They take up an insane amount of my thoughts. Send help. (And to think, i was somewhat normal about skizzpulse before this fic... i regret nothing)

I feel like I've achieved absolutely nothing with this long ask, but, oh well. As always love your tippy taps and your scritchy scratchs (writing and art) remember to drink and eat! Don't Let the concerned-for-your-wellbeing Skizz bite!

Hi hi hi it's been like,, a month since u sent this in. I'm so sorry lol. I LOVE to get asks (THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU-), I just don't always respond in a timely manner rip.

Anyways! THEORIES AND STUFF my beloved >:))))

I don't think it's been mentioned explicitly, mainly because I don't like to do straight exposition and prefer to work information into the plot naturally, but they know next to nothing about one another's personal information. They've both been very strict about protecting their privacy for a variety of reasons, so yeah. Skizz didn't know Impulse was a demon, and while Skizz has certainly hinted that he's an angel, he hasn't explicitly told Impulse.

And that's one thing I really like about how their relationship is going to develop; it said in the tags, but it's simultaneously friends to lovers and strangers to lovers, because at least at the beginning, the online and in-person personalities have no direct association with one another. So yeah, Impulse just likes this random angel for no reason other than SMOKING HOT, and it has nothing to do with Skizz (yet ;))

ughh I love all your theories, there are SO many things that could happen from here. And of course, nothing is going to be directly confirmed or denied, but I will say at least part of several of your theories are going to happen >:)) With angst, naturally. ughhh you don't even KNOW. lots of 3D chess with multiverse time travel going on.

Hehe the apology pastries. An idea like that will pop into my head and I'm just like,, yes. this is it. I have been ✨enlightened✨ They're just cute and stupid and they deserve to have good things to eat, and PURRING ehehehehehe >:))))) fool's gonna fall so hard, he doesn't even know what hit him

And, like always, I don't mind rambles!! Ramble as much as you want!! Ramble more!!!!! I just don't always get to them in a timely manner rip, but don't take that as me being annoyed or uninterested because I want to knowwwww your thoughts, please and thank you :))) And don't say you've achieved nothing! It all adds to my motivation :D These asks and the comments I get really help to get me out of slumps in motivation and such, so I really really appreciate it <3

ok first impressions, I love the distinctions you made between galactic and english writing and why it exists, as well as notes on the purpose of the journal. I'm so happy you're thinking so deeply about all this!!! "The more silly comments are in English, so Skizz knows that if someone does get ahold of the book that they’ll be reading the English portions" is such a great piece of analysis. (Also right off the bat, Skizz seems VERY lonely/paranoid from your descriptions lol)

Impulse - great ideas on why Skizz wrote that, not gonna confirm or deny bcuz it's spoilers, but great theories...

Tango - no particular thoughts, but you analyzing Skizz's analysis is making me happy wiggle in my seat :P

Mumbo - also love that you're thinking about the hermits as a community and not just them as individuals with the redstone thoughts + noting that Skizz comes from a very different place from Hermitcraft. Also interesting to me that you notice Skizz's familiarity with shulkers (side note: we have the most interesting shulker lore in this that will probably never be discussed, but still makes me happy)

Galactic translations and theories of lils au

Hi! I will be translating and theorizing @enkays-den and @cannibal-walleye’s lils au posts at the end of every 7 days :)

So, let’s start for the first 1-7 days! 

I will also say that I am a beta reader for this au, am in a gc with the two of them, and I don’t know if I know information that the public isn’t supposed to know… so if you see this and I say something and enkay/walleye don’t shoot me down before it’s too late uhhhh congrats!

I entered this au wanting Skizzpulse kissing and here I am… they hate eachother/silly

This is also my first time ever making a tumblr thread like this, so if it’s messy I’m sorry :,(

Spoilers if you want to translate days 1-7 on your own

I’ll do a summary here on what I think these journal pages are exactly

The general thought of these galactic messages are that Skizz is analyzing how much the hermits are threats to him, depending on their abilities, and he is most likely preparing if he needs to ever fight them. Knowing how they are and their strengths and weaknesses are probably the only way he can beat them if he has to.

It’s a journal but it’s also maybe a strategy guide, so Skizz knows as much as he possibly can about each hermit.

He intends for only himself to be reading it, so hopefully no one gets ahold of his journal and knows galactic, maybe it’s a prominent language from where he is from.

The more silly comments are in English, so Skizz knows that if someone does get ahold of the book that they’ll be reading the English portions

Skizz’s true thoughts/analysis is in galactic though.

Skizz is on high alert, no one is truly a friend in his mind, no matter how nice they seem.

Day 1: Impulse

IX (9) very tall, can fly, extremely heat resistant

Can shed disguise instantly.

Armourer 

Axe and sword proficiency

Taught daughters how to fight.

In human form he is unarmoured could have demonic traits without the form.

Tail and talons and horns human form.

He can hurt me.

-The thing that prompts “He can hurt me” is probably on the way back to the hermit settlement thing imp and skizz run in to something/someone and they aren’t friendly, impulse kicks their ass

Alternatively, Skizz is generally scared of Imp cuz of what he’s learned of him so far

Impulse could have some talent that he shows off at some point that scares Skizz

This is just guessing tho idk-

-From these first days I’m PRETTY sure the first letters are Roman numerals for the threat/strength level of the hermit, so there will be numbers next to them.

Day 2: Grian

V (5) can fly, seems to be very agile in the air.

Others complain that he starts wars, presumably not real ones, but seems to be a menace for sure.

Likely a decent fighter.

Sneaky, impulsive

Day 3: Tango

V (5) Heat resistant, not to the extent of Impulse.

Very smart, but does not seem like a strategist.

Not very confrontational.

Despite his attitude, seems unlikely to initiate combat.

-The fact that Skizz says “strategist” instead of like “strategic person” makes me think that Skizz is grouping all the hermits together like they’re an army.

Ex: strategist tango, fighter false, etc

-“Unlikely to initiate combat” also adds to this

Day 4: Jimmy

III (3) Doesn’t seem like a fighter, no significant muscle definition, all bark no bite.

Taller than average, can fly.

Learning the ropes, so he’s not experienced.

Very loud voice, could easily warn others if he needed help.

Day 5: False

IX (9) Twice the arms, twice the danger.

Extremely skilled with weapons and fighting.

May have teleporting and night vision depending on how any end abilities she has. Not that she would tell me if she did.

Uses elytra but is probably very good at flying from all the tests.

X openly said she’s a good fighter. Is this a warning?

-Poor Skizz is realllyyyy on edge, I bet X was just very proud of False and just told Skizz that just to do it. But Skizz thinks he has an ulterior motive-

-The fact that both Impulse (who what we’ve seen so far of him in the actual fic, seems less than a 9) and False (who has 4 arms and amazing fighting skills) are both 9, what makes a 10?

-WHAT DID IMPULSE DO TO GET A 9 WITH THE SWORDFIGHTING 4 ARMS LADY??

Day 6: Mumbo

V (5) depends on phantom traits but even then they’re not that powerful.

Don’t sleep around him.

Very smart but not a fighter.

Smarts seem more technical than strategic.

His flight ability has no physical limitations like the elytras or winged hermits. 

I wonder if he can tire out.

-This is a note from the whole page, Skizz comes from somewhere (world? universe?) that doesn’t have redstone. Either the hermits are rich, their land is rich, or Skizz’s old world specifically just didn’t have it.

Skizz’s old world had shulker boxes but not redstone, though maybe getting shulker boxes/pouches are easier in the lils universe

-Also, the scribbled out part was confirmed by Enkay to be Skizz crossing out sprites, and

I find it cute that Skizz is starting to use their phrasings :D

I may see if I can timeline it like which was the first entry which was the last and which are kinda in the middle. But who Skizz meets in what order could already be answered in future lils chapters, no clue, and it does seem like a lot of work but I have it noted down here sooooo maybe.

Day 7: Bdubs

IV (4) literally not a worry at night.

Aggressive personality but doesn’t seem like a fighter.

Don’t know if his abilities are different to a classic tree dryad.

His sprites like to spy.

-Bdubs’s lils are the biggest threat of Bdubs LOL

-On a less angsty note, love the thought of the army of impys and clocks following skizz

And that is all!

This is an amazing series and I love talking to Walleye and Enkay about it bec it’s loreful, angsty, and silly at the same time very cool stuff :)
