Sally died in the rain. Do you think Poseidon felt it? Do you think there was a moment Sally thought he might come for her? She knew he couldn’t, but maybe for just a moment she thought she’d be safe in the rain.
harry muttering to himself as he tries to pick a lock, remembering what parker taught him: not too much pressure on the wrench. nice and easy, like you're holding a woman's hand. gentle, gentle...
me: parker can give that instruction because she has held women's hands because she's bi
nah since marvel is trending again I’m going to say it again louder for the people in back — canon steve rogers would never have chosen an “idyllic 1950s white pickett fence life” because the only place that man belonged was a picket LINE. the whole point of his character was that his work was never done. there was always going to be another oppressor, another bully, another person who takes advantage of the underprivileged for him to stand up to. from the moment he gained consciousness he, a chronically ill son of a working class mother living below the poverty line, used his voice and his body to protect & fight for what he believed in. I’m not sure there was ever a time pre-super soldier serum where he didn’t have a black eye. he could put the shield down all he wanted but he could never retire from being steve rogers — someone who never once turned a blind eye, who never once wanted a “reward” for his work, who never once abandoned his friends. this isn’t up for debate. this is almost a century of comic book & film/animated precedent. he may have been a man out of time, but in his words “it’s tempting to want to live in the past. it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. but it’s where fossils come from”
We love having happy gays for once
I fucking love bottoms. its like the gay teen sex comedy of the year. We need more movies like this- like enough of the sad love gay stories, I want movies with funny lesbians- absurd football players and that gay loser all of the internet is in love with
“Be all the beautiful things you are, and be them without apology”
i think it’s noteworthy that parker finds a way, multiple times, to pretend to be with hardison in a con. she kisses him in the first david job, she pretends she’s meeting him to have sex in the wedding job, they pretend they’re getting a marriage visa in the zanzibar marketplace job, and they act like they’ve been making out in the jailhouse job. and i can’t think of a time that she’s done that with any of the others?? tell me if im wrong but i don’t think she’s fake-made-out with anyone else, at least.
i mean, parker stabs or breaks the fingers of guys who flirt with her or touch her. yet in the first david job she kisses hardison. in season one, when she’s still so resistant to touch and her heart is so guarded. its just for the con, of course. but a fake kiss, something she can easily write off - that’s all she can do at that stage. she can’t offer her heart, she won’t let herself get attached, and really it takes until the long way down job (ie season 4) for her to start accepting that she is capable of loving and being loved. in season 1, when she was entirely closed off, a fake kiss is all she can do with her feelings for hardison pretzels. she keeps taking the opportunity to kiss him or be together, without the consequence of Having To Talk About It and all the problems she knows would come with that. her method of coping with Emotions is to let herself get into a bunch of mini fake dating AUs with him lol.
i think its worth bringing up because ive mentioned how sweet hardison is with her, and we all talk about how much he cares for her and shows patience and understanding, but its certainly not one-sided! parker’s enamoured with him since pretty early on. her way of showing it is just different and somehow both far less and way more direct lol. they both put effort into figuring each other out and learning to be in a relationship, not to mention that trying to be capable of a healthy relationship with hardison is one of the biggest driving forces behind parker’s character growth. he’s so important to her (and they’re so important to me <3).
Revisiting this point from an earlier post of mine about how much I love that Lockwood & Co. specifically does not do this to Lucy:
Can we TALK for a SECOND about how the writers wrote the whole Towel Scene (which admittedly did not make the final cut but still) and managed to make LOCKWOOD the most uncomfortable out of three?? Because he's a massive dork??? Instead of the girl who's literally standing in a towel in a hall with two boys???
Like they put the love of Lockwood's life in a towel in front of him and rather than taking it as an opportunity to objectify her and make her an object of lust, they turned it into an absolutely hilarious moment that showcases not only how much of a dork Lockwood is, but how SAFE Lucy is in that household. Yes it's funny and very awkward but it doesn't broach the sickening feeling of a girl being exposed and unsafe and objectified.
I can't even begin to express how comforting it is, the way this series lets Lucy be safe in this area. I wish I could explain it more clearly but the words aren't wording. Y'all get it.
There’s an underlying bitterness in Percy’s tone in this scene, despite the fact that he’s making a “joke,” that couples with the way he doesn’t look at his mom while he says it but kind of just stares distantly. And also the way his eyebrows go up and down in a quick, wry — and almost judgmental, even — way.
This one singular line hit me so hard as a neurodivergent person because it’s all you need to see the way that Percy feels about his own inability to do “basic” things, like pay attention. He’s making a joke that’s also a dig at himself for “screwing up” in some way and it felt so relatable.
And the fact that it’s basically setting up him the next scene when he tells his mom that he thinks there’s something “broken” in his brain?
It hurt in all the best ways that seeing an accurate representation of yourself in a series that’s been your comfort series since the moment you picked it up 🥲
Once again talking about missed causal touches of the leverage ot3 in season 4 in “The Cross My Heart Job” Eliot puts his arm around Parker just a little as he’s leading her and Hardison away from the hospital viewing window at the end. And I think he nudges Hardison’s shoulder too to get them moving like!!
(Quick little gif I did just to show it so sorry about the quality but still!!!!)
Like!!! I still stand by something happening in between season 3 and 4. You cannot tell me otherwise the ease this ot3 has amongst each other this season even after arguing for half this episode about the last con
@werewolfsmile I’m tagging you because I know you’ll agree
Random stuff I love. Currently obsessed with Lockwood and co. Pls go stream it on Netflix we need season 2!!
