TODAY, August 12, 2024, The Animation Guild begins negotiations with the AMPTP to win a new contract for animation. This is a huge fight with severe stakes for the future of the Animation Industry in the US, and the guild needs your support!
TAG is fighting, Right Now, to stop exploitative practices that are weaponized against animation professionals across the globe, and working hard to ensure this industry has a future here in the states.
If you are a fan of animation, whether it's major or independent studios, eastern or western, tv or movies, we need you to get LOUD in support of The Animation Guild. The crews who work so hard to bring these works to life are struggling to pay their bills, if they can find work at all, while studio CEOs are getting multi-million dollar raises to cancel projects and gut streaming libraries.
We can win this fight, but we need public outcry and support. If you work in animation, if you've ever dreamed of working in animation, or if you just love animation, please stand with TAG and support the union effort to keep animation a viable career and a valuable medium!

You know the longer that I work in customer service the more I think kids should not be allowed to work here. Not that some of them don't have great work ethic, hell I've had teenagers work better than some adults. It's more to do with customers they say the most vile things about you just for minor things. I Have even had several come in pissed just to use me as and my fellow coworkers as punching bags. It really drags on your mental health I can only imagine the kids going through puberty having to deal with these vile people with a hairline trigger it's gross.

"she's a cop" yeah! everyone who serves as president of the united states fucking sucks lmao. but yk what?? she can beat trump. she doesnt wholly embrace fascist policy. she generally aligns with a lot of important issues-- abortion, the green new deal, lgbtq+ rights, fact-based public education-- and that buys us time to organize our communities, to improve safeguards and community care and uproot the fascism taking hold without a fully fascist president breathing down our necks. "the democrats suck too" yup they really do!! and yet i still prefer that to the gop's wholehearted embrace of true fascism, of overturning free and fair elections and shifting power to unelected federal judges. so!! enough of the hand wringing please!! we need to buy some fucking time so yes kamala harris will need to win and yes she is very capable of winning there is strategy there, there is money there, and the american people above all rn want someone who isnt decaying into the literal ground thank you that is all.

I think the invention of the term "traumadump" has done discussion of mental health a lot of harm. I keep seeing discourse vs whether or not it's okay to talk about heavy topics with your friends, and like... I feel like there is a very big and important difference between my definition of traumadumping (ie. Frequently and habitually diverting your conversations with others towards your own misery, often with the goal of focusing attention and sympathy towards yourself at the expense of those around you, and without recognizable effort to reciprocate your empathy towards those you are speaking to or to ensure their comfort) VS the mere act of having heavier conversations with those around you. I've seen a lot of backlash to the idea of traumadumping as a concept lately (they paywalled human connection etc etc) but I think it's worth recognizing there is absolutely a kind of behavior that can create a negative feedback loop with this stuff. Especially if you navigate a lot of spaces in social media, it's not uncommon to find people dropping really heavy stuff on complete strangers unprompted. Idk, I think there's a degree of nuance to be had that's maybe getting a bit lost due to everyone having different definitions of what it means to "trauma dump."
