I'm Cicada, and I like to yap about things :D mostly warrior cats, stranger things, and whatever I'm currently hyperfixated on. On my blog I'll probably post the occasional art, rant about warriors, delusionally hope for byler, and talk about anything that comes to mind ✨
I'm autistic+mentally ill so I struggle to interact with people; please keep that in mind. Also I've never been on Tumblr before and I'm sort of terrified 😭
Favorite warriors characters (not in order): Shadowsight, Frostdawn, Dovewing, Ivypool, Squirrelstar, Hollyleaf, Crookedstar
Navigation:
For fandom-specific stuff, it'll just be tagged as the fandom
For art, it'll be tagged #cicada draws
For non-fandom thoughts or monologues, it'll be tagged #cicada yells (do. do you get it. cause like. cicadas, they yell) (I'm really funny trust)
OCs will be tagged with both the name of the OC and their overall story
"Before there is peace, blood will spill blood and the lake will run red" - Starlight, pg. 5
erin hunter never dug deeper than half an inch into the emotions of their characters but one of the most conceptually gut wrenching scenes for me in the books is honeyferns death, where leafpool is staring at cinderheart hoping, praying, that some bit of cinderpelts wisdom and guidance will surface and tell her what to do so she can save honeyfern, and cinderheart is staring back at leafpool wondering why she can’t save her sister
here are some doodles for will’s birthday <3
"While You Were Dead"
This issue serves as a goodbye to our two most prominent deceased characters - the killer and the victim both. Two of my favorites to write (though not necessarily to draw; their designs are agonizingly complicated), and whose deaths both made huge splashes in the readerbase.
It still really charms me how popular Rainhaze ended up being, and I'm just glad everyone else liked him as much as I did. I got to explore a lot of interesting and complicated ideas within his character. Asphodelshine I sometimes wish I hadn't killed off, but only because it makes me miss her. Which I suppose is how I know I did a good job with it.
The title is taken from Cat Rambo's story "Tortoiseshell Cats Are Not Refundable": “He and Mindy would laugh about that together eventually. He wondered what that would be like, to be able to say, “While you were dead.”

ok maybe there's something wrong with me but can I just say im very obsessed with the use of foxes in hollyleaf and leafpools stories. leafpool finding comfort in finding the fox that just almost killed her and her sister curled around its babies, keeping them close to her even in her sleep. remaining their mother as blood seeps from her wounds. and despite everything, all leaf takes note of is the warmth emanating from the den, not the imminent danger or threat on their lives. Conversely, holly also finds comfort in foxes, in the kit she takes in and is almost killed by in the snow. The thing doesn't recognize her as any figure in its life, just like she refuses to acknowledge leaf as her own mother, and would rather kill her to keep the order of things.
They're the same but different, parallel and never intersecting. I heart them forever :3

Was going through my old middle school playlist and rediscovered this gem
