the two-faced god of klein

A contrapuntal poem, where two poems are placed side by side so that they can be read as a third, combined poem. The three poems are as follows.

poem: the vessel
I tire of my role.
I do not understand why
I follow the path You set for me.
tell me
must I suffer this lonely vigil?
to carry out Your will
it is an endless task

this vessel
is incapable of
freedom, of
wanting
of free will

and yet
something shifts
in spite of
my reason for existence
so I will make a wish.
for understanding
and for the chance
to love another person

poem: the servant
O Lord in heaven,
you are both kind and cruel,
and I have been faithful. so
why
can I never be good enough
despite my best efforts
that cannot be achieved.

that I am
yearning for
a life other than this one
must be a sign
of brokenness.

I know that
within me
my conviction
is deeply rooted still
I pray to You, O Lord,
for redemption
to be saved
is to see the face of God.

after this event, dante and garu are an adventure duo, right? this is the second intense crime(?) they'll have dealt with. lowkey, they've got the perfect groundwork for an adventure serial first adventure like: first adventure (solaria history) --> beach episode --> second adventure (yokai circus)

they really fit the mold of a hardboiled guy and his bright eyed companion. plus, out of all of the clan members, dante actually likes garu and respects his skills. garu can keep up with dante's rigorous standards and he's a cute puppy. perfect synergy. (technically, they're an adventure trio with eiden, but eiden is kind of a given lmao)
