my thing with jack is like I do find him tragic just not on the surface level I don't think people finding him generally distasteful disliking him and throwing him to eldritch beings to save their own skin is sad I think it's funni I laugh when these things happen to him. the tragedy of jack is that he's become such a piece of shit throughout his long sordid life that he Does deserve every bad thing that comes his way. like the tragic character isn't present day jack sparrow the tragic character is the misty lady's cabin boy who maybe could have been dealt just a slightly better hand by life.
