Some drawings of these two from the past week!
More silly attempts to summarise my headcannon for these two.
[OK before I knew it these paragraphs appeared out of nowhere!]
After Ford starts dimension hopping I like the idea of them having a kind of cartoony back and fourth "I'll get you next time!" dynamic for a bit, except both end up in the position of the pursuer swearing vengeance and they switch back and forth depending on the context.
Bizarre banter during a chase scene, trying to outsmart the other's quips, deliberately prolonging they're interactions for very important and strategic reasons, stuff like that.
Point is they become very familiar with eachother, for better or worse, over the course of this 20 or so year long dynamic and it starts to become surprisingly fun? (Not sure what word to use exaclty it's very clear in my head but- agh words-)
I also imagine many times where they just... talk. No chasing or fighting or theatrics, they just chat over tea, usually in Ford's mindscape, with his encrypted thoughts it becomes safer to interact. Although they're are rare and very breaf moments when they're actually in person for once and they're also just chatting.
Until something serious happens, once again reality ruins all the fun, one thing leads to another, Ford's got a metal plate fixed into his skull, is building a quantum destabiliser, and Bill is furious.
Tale as old as time.
There was no particular idea here, I just found a picture on Pinterest that was interesting in terms of lighting, and I wanted to practice.
Well, the boy looks so that you want to feel sorry for him. We can imagine that something is really bothering him.
I would like to introduce you to Thistlebert, cousin of Fiddleford McGucket. He was once mentioned in the Third Diary and I decided to draw him according to my idea.
Hippie, loves tea, enjoys playing the guitar. By nature, a calm guy, careless, prefers not to worry about anything.
Opposes any kind of violence. He is optimistic about the world, always ready to help his friends.
So, for the sake of interest, I edited one old work of 2020 ...
As you might have noticed, I changed some details ...A red shirt would be very suitable for Ford
lazy eye charles 🖤 how else can he keep such a good eye on the band!
also pouty murderface!
I wanted to remember how to draw Bill Cipher.
And also that ship Billford I also like.
You should draw Fiddleford trying to solve a rubix cube :0
Saying Ford's worst character trait is ego is like saying Stan's worst character trait is greed.
I swear if people talked about stan the way they do about ford. He would be so hated.
Ford's worst character trait is not having enough screen time.
Screen time stan got, in spades by comparison, to make you feel bad for him or have over the top hero moments to balance out the overall crappy-ness.
I guesse ford just wasn't as funny about it.
I don't dislike stan, I dislike this fucking golden boy treatment he gets.
It's like saying dipper is the only one who's obviously neurodivergent.
Or that fidd is only either sunshine or evil genuis.
It's fucking nauseatingly surface level.
And in the case of ford even the shows creator is like "oh yeah he's just an arrogant prick" agh it's awful
...it also has undercurrents of ablism...
Like... dipper and stan are the "straight men" to their "eccentric twins".
Like "ohhh poor dipper and stan they're so underappreciated.. with all their hero moments, having the majority of the main emotional beats focus on them...ect"
cha cha in the moonlight~

I've always found the end of Journal 3 a bit strange, but one of the specific things is ford throwing his journals into the bottomless pit. It's kinda cool as a concept, but it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
The bottomless pit basically makes it so the fate is unknown of whatever goes in. it could come back, it could end up somewhere else, or it could continue falling for eternity.
ford has attempted to hide his journals before, but they were all found. Gideon even dug up the 2nd one and used it to terrorize the town and even ford's own family.
so I don't think ford would be blind to these outcomes, its happened before why wouldn't it happen again? I think the thought of the journals falling through the pit and wounding up in the hands of someone more powerful than an 8 year old would be enough to keep him up at night. the forever uncertainty would kill him.
then I think, well maybe he would burn them with everything else?
however, I think it's important to remember how much these journals meant to him. despite the memories they carry now, they were once his sole confidant in six years of solitude.
even if ford felt any sort of connection to them now, he probably felt like he had to get rid of them.
he probably felt that his work was a burden to those he cared about. that he would have to make the sacrifice to part with them.
I think it would be a great dilemma for him. So I believe he gave them to someone. I think a lot of people would assume it would be Dipper, but to me what it comes down to is that it would have to be someone ford could fully trust.
it would be someone who could see the value in his work despite his mistakes. someone who could fully understand where his passion came from at the very start.
so i believe he gave them to fiddleford
I think fiddleford has had an interest in Ford's old journals ever since his memory started to recover. he remembers something new each time he reads them. fiddleford would be able to keep them safe, keeping ford's mind at ease knowing someone was keeping an eye on them.
and I think that would be enough for him
