I feel like when we criticize Filbrick Pines, we tend to focus more on how he kicked Stanley out, and don’t acknowledge enough how he only seemed to give a shit about Stanford because he thought Stanford was going to make a bunch of money. Like I know people have talked about it, but I feel like it tends to more often get overlooked when being compared to what he did to Stanley.
These two aspects of Filbrick together paint him as a father who only cared if his children could benefit him. They’re not bothering him and generally staying out of his way? They’re fine, legally his responsibility too so it’s better that he just doesn’t give a shit. One has the potential to be extremely successful and make a bunch of money? Suddenly he’s “impressed” and excited (whatever this man’s way of expressing excitement is). The other has now ruined the chances of the former getting into a college where he could be successful, and has now prevented the former from “being our ticket out of this joint”? That son is now not allowed to be part of the family at all.
He’s not impressed when they’re are just being themselves, he only cares when it benefits him, and if they cause him any problems, they’re out of the picture.

"I made this video for Gravity Falls' 7th anniversary, and I wanted to include in it as much stuff and references that only a fan who was there during it would understand. It was a sort of way to preserve in video as many things about the fandom as I could before they were lost to the depths of the internet and forgotten as those who created them moved on. I know I didn't get all the references, but I did my best to get as many of the well known and lesser known ones as I could.” -HK
Hey! This was initially submitted to me but I messed up so I’m reposting it. Here’s what @hkthatgffan, the creator, had to to say about the video itself.
Anyway, I was dying over the video. I’m an old GF fan and it was like a whole trip through memory lane. I miss how connected and broad the fandom was, but I suppose all good things must unfortunately come to an end. We had our occasional ship wars ofc, but I think most people could agree that the GF fandom was extremely welcoming and creative.
The FINAL installment
This ends on a very hopeful and bittersweet note.
Ford will be okay, I promise
This was a very cathartic experience for me, but also emotionally draining. I had to pull real life dialogue and memories into these comics. Losing someone is always painful. I’m sorry to those who found this series uncomfortable. But I needed it out
This was more for me than it was for you, but it’s here if you want to see.
Some Billford things that give me life. Bill leaving little hearts in Ford’s notes for when he is given back his body.
Ford taking some time to make a nice dinner for Bill to eat in his body so Bill could have some human foods he never has had before.
Bill playing with Ford’s hair and massaging his shoulders while Ford is figuring out really troubling problems to relax him.
Bill constantly giving Ford esteem boosts at times of self doubt. Ford getting more and more vocal about how amazing he finds Bill and returning how touchy Bill can be.
Ford wishing for a way for Bill to be able to be in their world with him, perhaps having a body of his own. Bill finding it cute and teasing him, but also feeding the idea and asking things like would he get his own room or would Ford share his bed? What kinds of things would Ford what to do with him? What would Ford want him to look like?
Ford saying he wouldn’t care how Bill looked, as long as it was him in there.
Bill at times getting flustered with those kinds of answers. Stop being so cheesy and cute.
Ford finds Bill cute when he gets embarrassed.
I saw a post about how Bill "isn't ACTUALLY the villain" of Gravity Falls, given his ✨tragic backstory✨. Y'all know you can be sad and evil at the same time, right? You know Bill maybe feeling kinda bad for his actions does not make him the VICTIM of his own actions, right?
He gleefully drew little doodles of 12-year-olds in puddles of blood and you people are like "but his parents are dead." YEAH. HE KILLED THEM.
Thank you for such a high rating, it makes me happy! I am glad that I managed to convey the right atmosphere. I really like your fics, and I thought I could express it this way.
I drew this under the impression of the fan fiction "Not So Different (And We're Dying For It)" by @jacky-rubou
This was a good reason to experiment a little.
He thinks alone.
I think it happens at a time when he was forced to be away from the band.
