I tried to post this same video earlier and it immediately/automatically got flagged for having adult content. I appealled the classification and was told that Tumblr determined it did not contain anything inappropriate, but the post seems to be forever in “appeal mode.” Trying it again here.

Had a lot to say about this video, but also had several issues while trying up upload the video to Tumblr. Annoying.

Started working on this a week ago. I will probably replace the Llobet piece with this one by Tarrega.
Displeased with the left hand sounds (squeaky).

This is the excerpt I promised myself I would make a recording of in yesterday’s post. This is where the Preludio and the Danza blend together. ‘Attacca’ is the musical direction.
With these lighter strings, I tend to feel that my guitar is tuned kinda low. Although, I know they are turned to 440.

Played this entire piece for an audience. Here I’m working on one of the variations that I’ve had problems. In this video I’m trying to make a new habit with my lefthand pinky. When I do a glissando with my fourth finger, I have a habit of landing on the far right side of the finger. This can make the pitch sound out of tune. So, I’m trying to land closer to the left side of the finger.
This is a hard piece to pay if you haven’t had much time to warm up.

Working on memory here. Pavan no 3 by Milan. I have all the notes in my head, but I sometimes skip a section or do a wonky repeat at times. Memory has been a challenge this past year. I suspect it has to do with the extremely slow recovery post hurricane Michael.

I’ve been worried about school everyday since my home was hit by Hurricane Michael last October. I had hoped to graduate in May, back before the storm hit. It’s over a year now and I’m still living in a travel trailer. There have been many hurricane-recovery-related tasks that have greatly interfered with my practice and studies in school. I’m even more worried now.
Anyway, I’m doing some slow practice here in this video. Beginning to commit the piece to memory. It’s easy to find where I have trouble with memory here (jolts in the performance). I have taken note of these instances and will work them out.
Florida’s Panhandle took stock on Thursday of the hammering destruction wrought by Hurricane Michael, with homes obliterated or reduced to rubble and power lines and trees ripped up by the third most powerful storm ever to strike the U.S. mainland.

Starting to run through several minutes of my pieces in these daily recordings. I feel that it ads some healthy stress to performing the piece. Playing through nerves will definitely help with the final recital.
This is from today’s faculty recital I played on at GCSC. Corranda by Agustí Grau. I think overall that my default right hand position could be closer to the sound hole. I’m glad my student sent me these videos so I could catch that.
