This is from a friend who found the prompt, and we want a fic from it but are too lazy to write it. If you do take inspiration please send me the link.
Anakin getting drugged with an aphrodisiac on a mission but instead of making him want to fuck ALL THE THINGS he instead wants to cuddle EVERYONE and is high as all get out?? He cuddles Ahsoka and tells Rex that he’s his FAV CLONE1~EVA!When Obi-Wan has to get him off the ship to go to medical he wraps his arms around him and demands to be carried. (And Ahsoka is DYING of laughter because Obi-Wan is just…so resigned by this point.)
He sees Mace and goes super quiet and hides his face in Obi-Wan’s chest, like a bloody child, and when Obi-Wan explains what the hell is going on, Anakin apologizes for always fucking everything up and “maybe next time I’ll come back missing more limbs, that’ll make you happy, right?”
And Mace is horrified because he doesn’t hate Skywalker or want to see him MAIMED??? WHERE DID HE GET THAT IDEA FROM??? And Obi-Wan is like “HOLY SHIT ANAKIN”
And then Anakin sees Yoda and is all bubbly and cheery again, babbling about how he totally felt Dooku’s presence and he seemed healthy and more stable and even though they didn’t get him, he’s still alive and isn’t that great, Master Yoda?? I’m sure we’ll get him and bring him back so he stops making you so sad all the time by being a complete failure.
And Obi-Wan is just like “OKAY, GOING TO MEDICAL NOW BEFORE THIS GETS ANY SADDER. REPORT LATER, BYE!”
And then Anakin’s just in the chambers of healing high as a kite and not letting Obi-Wan leave because he wants cuddles and Ahsoka has Important Padawan Learning to do that can’t be disturbed by him being needy.
And during his high cuddling of Obi-Wan he ends up telling him all about his marriage to Padme and how much he loves her and wants her here because she gives awesome cuddles and he misses her so much. And maybe says some rather creepy shit about Palpatine that makes Obi-Wan’s “ALERT, ALERT, SOMEONE IS CREEPING ON YOUR PADAWAN” senses go off.
And that’s how the Speratists inadvertently saved the Galaxy.
…if Anakin accidentally gave Obi-Wan cause to think that Palpatine had been perving on his padawan since he was a CHILD holy FORCE there would be no power in the galaxy that could save the Sith Lord Sidious.
“No, it wasn’t like that, Master, really, he just patted my head and told me I’d do great things and to trust only in him because he cared for me and wanted what was best for me and told me that everyone else was a lying sack of poodoo and said I’d look good in these kinds of clothing and gave me a set and he said I’d look good in them and it’s like he can see inside me sometimes, master, he’s always saying the right thing -”
(Obi-Wan is freaking out BIG TIME)
…ditto if Obi-Wan confides in his suspicions to a horrified Padme. The two of them would combine forces to form an unstoppable murder duo.
But imagine what would happen if someone from the 501st overheard this. Palpatine would be dead before Padme and Obi-Wan make it out of the temple.
(When asked later why he didn’t wait for them, Rex just shrugs and says “Plausible deniability, sir”)
Ahsoka *in the council room*: …So why are we here?
Mace Windu: I need to ask you - both of you - a favor.
Anakin: What? You need someone hurt?
Mace: No-
Anakin: Do you need someone to disappear? Because I can-
Mace: NO!
It’s incredibly important to me that the anime decided to include this scene that wasn’t in the manga. In the manga, Maomao does pass out in Jinshi’s lap after saving him from what was obviously an assassination attempt.
HOWEVER, the manga cuts off at this point, keeping strictly in Maomao’s perspective, and cuts straight to when she regains consciousness in bed after being treated for her injuries. The manga doesn’t show how she got back. They SAY how, and she briefly mentions, “wow that must have been embarrassing; he carried me back,” but we don’t SEE it. We don’t get to feel the true impact of what that means. But the anime DID show us, and holy shit.
They SHOW us how taboo this is. They show Jinshi carrying her out of the temple, after a public attempt on his life.
They show us the shock and horror on Lakan’s face as Jinshi silently walks past him. Horror at the state his daughter is in, horror at another man—a man with a status he could never dare to question—staking such a public claim over his child, horror at the fact that he could never have this level of closeness with her (as Maomao would never allow it).
Everyone hides their gazes, as is their custom when someone of his rank passes by, but the air is different this time. Jinshi is furious, he’s terrified, and he could not give a single shit about how inappropriate it looks to these palace officials.
The shot that slowly follows her trail of blood—even though it’s a small detail—that in particular leaves such a intense impression of how poignant this is for him.
Maomao talked about this scene in the manga like it was nothing to her. She did what she set out to do: she saved the person who was targeted by the attack. She didn’t even know the target would be someone she knew. But she has no idea that this happened afterwards as a result of her bravery. To her, it likely wasn’t even an act of bravery at all. She acted on impulse; she did what she knew was the right thing to do.
The anime didn’t need to include this, because the manga didn’t show it. But damn, I’m so glad they did.
Padme: …maybe Obi-Wan could help us. Anakin: [wincing] Nah, I can’t…can’t talk to Obi-Wan about this. Or anything. Ever. Padme: Why not? He cares about you; have you tried asking him if he – Anakin: Look, I’m telling you, I can’t talk to Obi-Wan! I have tried! But every time I try, he’s all…him about it, and it never works. Padme: [nodding knowingly] Why, because he’s all [pompously] “No Ahhhhnnakin, I’m a Jedi and we don’t talk about this stuff…” Anakin: What? No, no, it’s not like that at all! I just…can’t. It’s not possible. Padme: Ani, I don’t understand. Anakin: Well…
[smash cut to Anakin and Obi-Wan’s quarters] Anakin: [seriously] Obi-Wan, I need to talk to you about something. Obi-Wan: [sitting down right next to him, making intense eye contact] Of course, Anakin, what’s the matter? Anakin: [flustered] …I gotta go.
[smash cut to Anakin, sitting in a ship next to Obi-Wan] Anakin: Master, I have something that I need to tell you. Obi-Wan: [trying to fix something on the ship, leaning over Anakin and pressing up against him repeatedly] Certainly Anakin…just…give me one second…I need to just adjust this…oh blast, hang on, I’m getting grease all over my tunic, I’m just going to remove it. There. [settling back into his seat, shirtless and sweaty] All right. What did you want to talk to me about? Anakin: [dying] No…nothing. I…let’s just go. On. The mission.
[smash cut to Anakin, nervously biting his nails at the kitchen table] Anakin: [gathering up the nerve] …Master? I really need to talk to you about something! It’s important! Obi-Wan: [strutting in from the refresher, wearing nothing but a towel] [taking Anakin’s hand] You know you can talk to me about anything, Anakin. Whatever is the matter? Anakin: [squeaks]
Padme: [nodding] …I see. Anakin: It’s horrible! He’s the worst!
Hey folks, I live in Seattle and up till a couple years ago I lived on Capitol Hill. I still have friends living there. So I thought I’d provide some local insight into the CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone).
There is a lot of misinformation out there, especially from Fox News, which photoshopped a gunman into pics, wow.
First, the best resources to find CHAZ info are local to Seattle: The Seattle Times, Capitol Hill Blog, and the CHAZ livestream where you can see the streets for yourself.
Capitol Hill is a very densely populated neighborhood full of apartment buildings and bustling restaurants and bars. If you work there, you live there (because it is hard to navigate by car, like NYC), and if you live there, you are probably super liberal. It’s also the center of counter-culture and LGBTQ culture in Seattle.
Are the protesters terrorizing the locals?
No, the protesters ARE the locals. They live in the many, many apartment buildings on Capitol Hill. Having lived there for years, believe me when I say “fuck the police” is a prevalent opinion there even when there isn’t a nationwide protest.
Is there looting? How are businesses protecting themselves?
The local businesses are not being looted; they are open and are doing a booming business. Also, a lot of workers / business owners ARE protesters.
I saw a picture of Seattle on fire!
Actually you saw a picture of a protest in Minnesota that Fox News pretended was Seattle because they are frauds and shills.
How big is the Autonomous Zone?
Six square blocks.
How did this situation come about?
There was a peaceful march. The mayor abruptly set a 5 pm curfew. The protesters ignored it and marched anyway. Then the police set up barricades to stop the march. The cops started using tear-gas and flash-bangs and the situation devolved from there. (You can find videos of this on Capitol Hill Blog.) What prompted the tear-gas was … one of the protesters thrust a pink umbrella over the barrier. Yes, really.
The situation deteriorated for several days/nights running until the police abandoned the East Precinct on Capitol Hill. The violence was very one-sided: the police attacking the protesters.
Then the police left. From what I heard the mayor ordered them out due to rumors or fears that the police station would be burned down? Which didn’t happen. Anyway, they abruptly left. As in, hired a literal moving truck and emptied out their headquarters, in almost a comedic beat.
Do you have to show your ID to enter the Autonomous Zone?
No. People come and go freely. City services are also allowed to come and go (and I presume delivery trucks but I haven’t looked into that.)
What’s with the physical barriers if people can come and go freely?
They’re to keep vehicles out.
Backstory: While the protests were ongoing, a guy (whose brother was an East Precinct cop) tried to ram his car into a crowd of protesters. A brave man eating a hot dog threw himself at the side of the car, grabbed the steering wheel through the open window, and stopped him. Whereupon cop-brother-car-man shot him with a gun.
Personally I think cop-brother-car-man was planning a mass shooting because he had extra ammo taped to his hoodie sleeve. You can see the blue tape on his arm in the pic above. (The protester who was shot thankfully survived. Check out those brave medics tending him while an ACTIVE SHOOTER is standing feet away!)
But anyway, that’s why there are barriers. I believe they move them aside for approved vehicles, like emergency vehicles or deliveries.
Are there people with guns roaming around?
Not on a regular basis, although I’ve heard a local gun club had some members there one night when it was rumored the Proud Boys (a Nazi group) might show up. (They didn’t.) But in general, no.
Is it scary??
No. The neighborhood is fully on board and overall there is a festive atmosphere. There are speeches about BLM, about discrimination, about what people want for the neighborhood. There are first aid stations, medics and counselors, and people offering free pizza. If you watch the livestreams, you can see people walking their dogs, out with their kids, etc.
Where will this all end?
I don’t know. The barriers can’t stay up forever and I think everyone knows that. The “Autonomous Zone” name is tongue-in-cheek, the protesters aren’t actually trying to secede from the United States. Basically, this is a boiling over of frustration. The police have never been good-faith neighbors on Capitol Hill. Also Seattle police have always been pretty racist and had a problem with excessive force.
Look at this whole situation. All the police had to do was stand back and let the protesters march; they would have marched and gone home and that would be that. All the police had to do was nothing. Instead they turned a neighborhood into a warzone.
By the way, did you know that yesterday (6/12) in a different Seattle neighborhood 60,000 people marched to support BLM? And because the city had learned its lesson about dumbass curfews, they let everyone march and nothing bad happened.
Weird how the national news didn’t report on that march, huh? Almost like they cherrypick the protests that will appear “scary” to their audience.
