Crazy post WaT theory: Dalinar’s cognitive shadow is still alive.
When Retribution tried to save and use him, what stopped him was that Dalinar was “claimed by another”. And that he slipped through his fingers. This suggests to me that while Dalinar was connected to both Honor and Odium, there was a third shard he was more connected to.
He previously rejected Odium for Honor in Oathbringer, and at the climax of this book, rejected Honor, favoring growth over adherence to the oaths.
He rejected Honor in favor of Cultivation, and she now has his cognitive shadow.

I never posted a video on here before so I hope it works. It’s a Wayne animation! I posted this on instagram a couple months ago. I used a small clip from Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson so I could practice lip syncing. I sped up the clip and removed the narration so it’s just the dialogue.

Anyone know if Scadrian seas experience tides? Kind of difficult for life to thrive without a moon to facilitate ocean currents/energy transfer/etc.
Then again, the seas were boiling for a millennium, then refurbished upon harmony’s ascension, so who knows what the rules are.
I find it so funny that for a planet with no moon, two of the main characters are named Wax and Wayne. 🤣
