Hello,
I am Eman from Sudan.
I hope you are well.
I am sorry for sending you a message, but I am asking you to help promote my campaign.
I hope I have not disturbed you.🙏
Last June, our house in Sudan was bombed while we were inside it, which led to the martyrdom of my younger brother, and this affected our psychology greatly and became my concern. The only thing is to save my family, so I created a campaign in January,I thank you for your love and I hope you will hold our hand until we get out to safety
hi everyone. please help support eman. eman urgently needs to get her family to safety so consider donating and sharing her fundraiser. the smallest amounts can go a long way

As a Black South African, watching these horrific events unfold, I cannot but reflect on my country’s own violent past. I recall the relentless planning and violence that accompanied the last decades of white South Africa’s attempts to make apartheid work. I remember the fears that grew among white South Africans as they put their trust in a sophisticated military capability, a conscription army, a nuclear weapons capacity and steadfast friends in the West, particularly the United States, Britain and France. It was the height of the Cold War and South Africa claimed to be the only democracy in Southern Africa, protecting “civilisation” from the encroaching threats surrounding it. Its military might and expansive police force were accompanied by a series of policies designed to maintain white minority rule. Each attempt to impose new such policies failed in the face of mass resistance. The more they failed, the more brutal the violence meted out by the military and the police with the encouragement of white politicians and a terrified white electorate. The “terrorists”, as the national liberation movements were referred to, could not be crushed by the mightiest army in Southern Africa. By mid-1985 a significant section of the white electorate and some in the ruling party realised that the problem of Black resistance was not going to go away. Something more drastic was going to be required.

Thinking about her (a show that was cancelled unjustly) again
A journalist stationed at a Gaza hospital who has been able to make a call via his Turkish sim:
"We’re in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. We have no idea what’s happening. There’s no connection, no Wi-Fi, no reporters. We’re cut off from everything.. People can’t call ambulances or civil defense. We are being bombed in an unprecedented manner. The sky around us just lights up [with explosions], and no one knows what’s going on. You can’t reach anyone, even if they’re only 500 meters away. Ambulances and medics are begging reporters to let them know which streets are getting bombarded to go rescue the victims but the reporters themselves don’t know where anything is happening [because of the connection loss]. We are trying to report the news but we have no idea what’s happening.”
actually i love being a grown adult because i can stay up till 1am with work in a few hours and like. who is going to stop me. Myself? i have to laugh
hey, so i saw on your old blog that you said you had copies of your old fics - i was curious if you did have links, or something of that nature for the starving artist verse bc i've been wanting to reread starving artists/weather for ducks and the oneshots and was curious if you had them - if not that's fine, but i do want to say when i was in high school you were one of my favorite authors and i think of those stories often, so thank you! 🩵
hey!! I tried to message you the link directly but tumblr was not happy about it, I guess sending unsolicited google drive links does look kinda suspicious. thank you so much for asking - it honestly makes my week whenever someone pops up and says they remember the silly stories I wrote nearly 15 (!!!) years ago even if the stories themselves make me cringe. everything is bundled into a chunky pdf and can be found here. hope you enjoy them! ❤️

Brazil is going through one of the worst climatic crisis ever seen.
i live in the southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. we have been suffering from extreme, nonstop rainstorms for a week now. the rivers are flooding, reaching 4-6 meters above their natural level. people are being rescued by helicopters, neighborhoods are being evacuated. entire cities are slowly but surely becoming submerged in water. 60 people missing and counting. 32 deaths and counting.
and this is not new. last november also had a flood like this one. 50 dead, many material losses. it happened again this january, with thousands being left without power or water for days.
three catastrophical disasters within less than a year. three disasters only a few months apart.
this is not natural.
unsustainable agricultural practices and politics led to this. a complete disregard for nature led to this. greed led to this. always greed.
when it comes to the climate crisis, i cannot stress this enough: we need to act now if we still want to live. disasters like this are going to happen more often and they're going to be much, much worse. this flood is being considered the worst climatic catastrophe in the history of my state. i don't know how long it will take for another bigger one to happen and take its place. i just know it will be sooner than it should.
