hug :D
I said in my last post that Maglor needed hugs and now he has a big hug!!!! :D
This drawing has me very emotional, I wanted it to be the 7 brothers hugging each other, Maglor in the center, after many years of him being alone and sad wandering the coasts. Is this a dream? A hallucination? Or is this a miracle and his brothers came back for him? :) ……I actually wrote a whole super silly fic about it but I don't think I'll finish it soon haha mmm we'll see haha
It's 2am and I'm happy, I love this drawing, even though I had a bad time at some moments because of mistakes that were completely avoidable but because of who I am I decided to take the more complicated path hmmm….This whole drawing is on the same layer haha….that wasn't a good idea haha but I love it anyway.
I just found your picture of Celebrian and Elrond's wedding...oh god my sides hurt from laughing so hard! The reception must have been awful
maybe! but then I thought of the last two surviving grandchildren of finwe in middle earth getting to reunite and celebrate and at least they could have fun for once ;u;

Shout out Haleth. The It Girl of the Edain. Centuries later and all these shield maidens have posters of you on their walls. Showed up, served no nonsense badass, refused to elaborate, left.
Rían’s story breaks my heart.
She was only 10 when her dad was killed along with all the other outlaws except Beren. We don’t know anything about her mom; who knows if she was even around?
Then she fell deeply in love with a great man, they married, she got pregnant, it looked like they’d have a life together, but then he went off to war and disappeared. The grief and trauma coupled with anxiety about Morgoth’s looming presence was clearly almost unbearable for her - and she carried all that pain while pregnant.
She took all the necessary steps to ensure her baby was born healthy, but then she knew she couldn’t take care of him. She was in no mental state to do so. Postpartum depression seems likely in this situation, which must’ve only added to the emotional agony she was already in. So she let him go and went looking for the ghost of the love of her life.
Then she found a pile of bodies.
And finally she just snapped and lost all hope, and her suffering was so great that her spirit left her body behind to lie among all those brutally slaughtered by the enemy, including her husband’s.
It just guts me whenever I think about how hurt and alone she was. Morwen was clearly too preoccupied to help her and she did not seem to understand the Elves. She was completely isolated and depressed and couldn’t handle it.
I wonder if Tolkien was inspired to create this tragic character upon witnessing the grief of young WWI widows.
The Feanorians like to scare each other just for the hell of it but not one of them dares to try and scare Maglor. Maedhros warned them all the one (1) time he did, Maglor screamed so loud and powerfully that every piece of glass in the house within fifty feet shattered
a list of some of my favourite, most ExtraTM Fëanor moments :
showed up to his dad’s house in full military gear just so he could throw a hissy fit at his brother in a public square , sword-waving theatrics and all
straight up slammed a door in Morgoth’s face , after quite literally yelling at him to get the fuck off his lawn
“Fëanor, lending us your Silmarils to save the Trees could prevent the world from plunging into complete darkness” / “And then what , do you waNT ME TO DIE is that it”
“So dad , are we going back for Fingon now?” / *manic laughter* “Oh, Maedhros, my sweet summer child,”
pulled a total Patroclus and charged on the gates of Angband without waiting for backup , then promptly got into a swordfight with a bunch of Balrogs
couldn’t help being dramatic even in death and turned into ashes on the spot before his sons could bury him
if you ever feel like your job is hard , just remember that Mandos is gonna have to put up with this dude camping out in his office until the end of Arda
Fingon.
Thinking about Fingon all day long because he sang in defiance, your honor, and resolved to heal the feud that divided the Noldor, and he won great praise and then in sorrow took the lordship of the house of Fingolfin. A shadow of doubt fell upon his heart, and even still, his heart was uplifted, and he shouted aloud: ‘Utúlie’n aurë! Aiya Eldalië ar Atanatári, utúlie’n aurë! He sought not his own, neither power nor glory, and death was his reward.
What am I to do with this guy.
“[Galadriel] was the greatest of the Noldor, except Fëanor maybe” that feel when your mum drains her entire immortal life force to make you maybe better than your random niece 😔
Again, about how the Legendarium begins and ends in fire...
Melkor being drawn to the Flame Imperishable started a whole story. The One Ring perished in the fire, and new beginning was made.
Fëanáro born in fire started a compilation of his actions. As he died in fire, a new era was made.
Maedhros coming back as fire provoked a flipping of narratives. Dying in fire started a new Age.
However, Nerdanel, while starting in fire, did not end in fire. She ended in water, where her story will remain to be written and mourned, and never ended and never started anew.
The same goes for her son, Maglor, who held fire in his soul, and did not end in fire, instead walking along the shores that separate him and his kindred.
In Tolkien, fire is of endings turning into new beginnings.
In Tolkien, water is of a story that never quite ends and that never quite begins afresh, forever haunting the timeline.
Now I can’t get the idea out of my head of Finrod talking to every sea creature he can, trying to get messages to Maglor. Everything. Crabs, seagulls, pelicans, you name it. If it’s a creature that inhabits the sea or wanders the beaches, he makes friends with it.
I bet you anything he sings to whales and speaks dolphin.
Maglor doesn’t understand why he can swear he hears them singing his cousin’s songs to him.
