This. Especially in the wake of the flooding and loss of the Garden. (unless I'm getting the timeline jumbled...) An opportunity for the people of Regalia to contemplate their actions / presence and consideration of 'are we the aggressors here' is abruptly shoved aside / tossed into a figurative dustbin as the majority of their political leadership structure are literally butchered in their own territory. In what they considered safety, as much as there can be in the Underland.

And much later, out of the entirety of the council of Regalia, only Solovet and Vikus survived? Hm.

One of your hottest TUC takes.

Solavet intentionally staged the death of Luxa's parents.

GUYS! I have learned crucial information about bats I think everyone should know. Especially pertaining to Underland fliers.

Bats can purr!

They vibrate and they sound like engines, it's adorable. There is a great video of one on the Maid of Bats Instagram page. And I am also immediately adding it to my headcanon that fliers purr unconsciously under certain circumstances of happiness, and that they can do it at will. Just a deep rumble while they vibrate. Just-

Gregor: *does something*

Ares: *finds it endearing and starts purring unconsciously*

Everyone else: 0_0 WTF, I didn't think Ares could do that anymore.

Or also,

Luxa: *extremely stressed out about something that happened or about being queen and goes to Aurora*

Aurora: *wordlessly wraps her wings around Luxa and starts purring to help Luxa relax*

I'm Writing Again To Bring Attention To The GFM Campaign Of @nourfamily1989, A Mother Of Five In Gaza.

I'm writing again to bring attention to the GFM campaign of @nourfamily1989, a mother of five in Gaza.

Since the last update, the situation for Nour and her family has gotten a lot worse. The area they've been seeking refuge in has been subject to intense bombing, and they've had to flee again in the middle of the night, with no idea where to go or what awaits them.

The despair Nour is describing is heartbreaking:

We see death every day, every minute, and every second??? We can no longer endure all this suffering, and my children are no longer children. Rather, they have become adults. After all this suffering, they have not taken any of their rights. Rather, they have lost their lowest rights. They have to bear what no grown-up person could bear. How long will all this torment and destruction that we live in?? Every day we move from place to place and we do not know where to go and where to go. There is no safe place for us. Every place is targeted and there is no safety. Please help my children from this bitter torment. Please save us from this destruction. There is no home. There is no future for my children. All their dreams are shattered.

Nour has repeatedly said on her blog that she hates having to ask for help, but that, for the sake of her children, she no longer has a choice.

Let's make sure her pleas now don't go unanswered.

You can make a big difference to the family even with a small donation. If you can't donate, then please help by sharing.

For vetting info, see this post by @/killy.

Over the course of a week, we've been able to raise a little over $5,000. Let's aim to reach the next $5,000 milestone as soon as possible, so that if the Rafah crossing reopens in the near future, the family will have the funds necessary to evacuate.

Currently: $14,240 / $20,000

Total GFM goal: $90,000

In The YA Animal Fantasy Genre Of The 00′s There Are Your Warrior Cats, Your Guardians Of Ga’hoole

In the YA Animal Fantasy genre of the 00′s there are your Warrior Cats, your Guardians of Ga’hoole and your David Clement-Davies series.

Then there’s Silverwing. Holy fucking hell, there’s Silverwing. The Silverwing series doesn’t stand out to me in that is groundbreaking or particularly poignant or a valid commentary of society or what have you. What makes it stand out is that it’s So. Fucking. Weird.

Like, ok. There’s a blood feud between the bats and the owls. The bats are under penalty of death if they look at the SUN. And the owls and manipulate fire. Also some scary cannibal bat fuckers are running amok being creepy and murdery and the owls are now waging genocide on the bats because they’ve been framed.

And that’s the first BOOK!

Things that also happen in the series: Canada is at war with Brazil. Humans use bats and owls as bio warfare against one another. There is a BAT HELL. Antagonists make pact with ancient Death God who wants to come to the world of the living and turn everyone into zombies.

It’s a great read for Halloween.

Here’s some characters. I LOVE Bats. So it was a joy to portray each of the characters based on their respective species.

Art is mine. Characters belong to Kenneth Oppel bless his soul.

murderfloof rolled a 1 on that check, lol bat's definitely caught red-han-... red-chested? red-faced? red all over, really.

exceptionally creepy. terrifying. (great work!) ... TUC had zero flier antagonists. closest to such could be Ajax, I guess? but, like, that dude got zero characterization other than 'nobody likes him' and being Solovet's bond.

so,, why not have a floof-flier be a malevolent bitch? albeit not to the same scale as the other malevolent bitch that affected damn near everyone in the North American Eastern Seaboard region of the Underland with their machinations, and 'just' limited to those that she might encounter by roaming around.

Hoary bat but underland. Maybe hiding a body beneath her. hoaries sometimes kill and eat smaller bats irl. jus surreptiously extretching her wing to conceal a bloody hand, foot, or limb. expression of who, me?~

dunno name. Who was the Greek bloke with the carnivorous horses? Sisyphus? Typhon? Could be selffulfilling prophecy, girl got a rotten name, shunned for rotten name, succumbed to inner demons or malign thoughts because everybody expected the worst from her so why not?

Possibly unrepentant manipulator. Exploits lack of knowledge or innocent assumptions. Missing people? Oh drat the gnawers got them.

Hoary Bat But Underland. Maybe Hiding A Body Beneath Her. Hoaries Sometimes Kill And Eat Smaller Bats

You always ask me to draw such depressing bats 😢

Disturbing image under the cut, you were warned

Hoary Bat But Underland. Maybe Hiding A Body Beneath Her. Hoaries Sometimes Kill And Eat Smaller Bats

Krita always de-saturates stuff when I export it (yes I've seen that srgb post going around, no the fix suggested didn't work), so I have to manually re-add the saturation after export. I hope I got the caught in the act feigned innocence expression right. To make the bats as expressive as they are in the books I have to give them binocular vision, larger eyes, and usually brows and eyelashes. It kinda makes them look 30% dog 70% bat. I hope the fur patterns and colors still make the species recognizable.

I don't know who needs to hear this but anyone saying "Just stop- You sound like Trump voters after he lost in 2020" in regards to those considering asking for a recount are either psyops or woefully ignorant of the situation.

You don't sound like a sore loser for taking note of the well documented cases of burned ballot boxes in at least three states, and multiple bomb threats to polling places in heavily democrat-populated areas in swing states, which shut them down for hours on election day.

Or taking note of other alleged voting interferences such as mail-in ballot tampering, or the case where a mail carrier has been arrested for stealing and forging mail-in ballots in Colorado.

Or for taking note of the fact that Trump constantly told us he "had a secret plan" to win the election on election day.

Or the fact that conservatives (and Trump) have a long history of cheating, and the fact that there's literally evidence that they meddled in at least the last two elections.

And no, I won't be linking sources, because I want you to look this up yourself instead of just taking my word for it.

My point is that it's reasonable to be suspicious and want to double check, especially given all that I listed above.

The reason we called Trump voters sore losers wasn't because they asked for a recount- they had every right to do so, just as we do now.

They were called sore losers because not only had there been no evidence of tampering or fraud (unlike this election), they didn't stop at asking for a recount- they got violent and started not only multiple riots, but also an attempted fucking coup where they stormed the capitol and chanted that they were going to hang Mike Pence because he refused to overturn the election.

Ask for the damn recounts if you want them. Every party has the right to ask for a recount.

Is there a good chance it changes nothing? Of course!

The worst that might happen when asking for a recount is just finding out that the count was accurate and needing to accept that and move forward.

But that still doesn't make it stupid for someone to ask for one given the fact we saw in real time several reports of election tampering. Besides, even if it doesn't change the outcome of the presidential election there's still a chance it might influence the outcome of the local elections, which are also very important!

This obsession with the left needing to appear constantly stoic and poised and unbothered, to the point of being too embarrassed to stand up for ourselves or even ask questions in fear of "looking as bad as them" is going to be the death of all of us.

If you're still taking requests for doodles... (quoting from Code of Claw)

"Next, I will sing one for you!" announced Boots, pointing at the bat, who actually flinched.

Or maybe a hypothetical scenario of Angelina and Larry meeting Luxa, with Gregor in attendance? (Gregor having brought Luxa on a topside excursion for pizza, and then his friends just randomly show up at some point through sheer coincidence.) Ooooor, maybe Gregor's school friends dropped by his apartment to meet up, with one of the other tenants directing them to the laundry room 'cause they saw the kid in there as they left… Gregor juuuust departing to the Underland but suddenly hears his friends' voices coming from the approach and he can't just dip because what if they find the access point on their own and the currents at that moment aren't favorable for a non-assisted descent. So he has to get back up into the laundry room quickly and so manages to do so in time but the grate either makes noise as it closes and thus invokes curiosity, or Gregor tries to be stealthy and quietly closes the grate but the other two kids catch him in the act... ...this is all a lead-up to hypothetical scenario/image of Angelina and Larry encountering/maybe chatting with Nike. (Or, maybe it's Ares in the shaft...)

apologies. can't make up my mind on which to choose.

Any Woobat/Swoobat facts? <3

I already did Swoobat facts, but I haven't done Woobat yet!

Woobat Facts

Any Woobat/Swoobat Facts?

-The scientific name for Woobat is "Cardilorus Chiroptera" which roughly translates to "Courting-heart bat"

-Like their scientific name suggests, Woobat are chiropterans, and their closest relatives are Zubat

-It's a common misconception that Chiropterans don't bump into each other in the dark. That isn't true. Zubat bump into each other constantly when they're not using their echo location. But, Woobat bump into each other a lot less in larger colonies. Researchers believe that it is their psychic abilities allowing them to sense the other Woobat easier

-It's also a common misconception that Woobat don't have eyes, however, this isn't the case. Woobat have beady little eyes under their fur, but they dint have very good eyesight, so they instead use echo location and psychic abilities to navigate their surroundings

-It was a common belief in Unova and Galar that the heart-nose that Woobar has is good luck. In Unova, it's still a common practice to try and get a Woobat to stamp something in order to bring good fortune to thst item, so many people will try to have a Woobat stamp their forehead in hand. In Galar though, this belief made people in Galar hunt Woobat in order to take their nose

-Woobat crossbreeds are very common since Woobat aren't at all picky with their mates

-Woobat sleep by sticking their suction-cupped noses to a surface and sticking there. They always leave a heart-shaped mark when they are done. When it's cold, Woobat will huddle close together to keep warm. It makes them look like a giant ball off fluff, and leaves a clump of heart-stamps wherever they slept

Any Woobat/Swoobat Facts?

-Woobat live in large colonies in either caves or forests. The ones I. Galar are more likely to be found in caves (I think it was to avoid being hunted)

-When a male Woobat courts another pokemon, they will bring them food, flutter around them, and emit ultrasonic waves from his nose

-While Woobat shoot their psychic powers through their nose, their psychic abilities don't come from their nose. Their psychic abilities come from a part of their brain known as the psycholobe, but they just shoot the beam through their nose bcuz it's there

-Some old civilizations mistook Woobata for baby goblins. I blame Swoobat'a appearance for that

-Despite bats like Zubat and Noinar hibernating, Woobat and Swoobat do not hibernate. Instead, they'll gain a lot of fluff and fat during the winter and scrounge for the food they can

-While many people find Woobat and their antics annoying, Woobat are actually very good for the environment. They eat pests, and their waste is good fertilizer. Many farmers enjoy Woobat a lot, and some farmers will purposely try to attract woobat to their farms
