Sneak-Peek at the header to my Brother Day (Cleon XVII) x y/n (f!ancient!reader) fanfic I'm writing right now. Trying to experiment with cryonics for this one, let's see how this goes lol! Currently proofreading.
"Why should I care about his feelings, when nobody cares about mine?"
- this line by sansa stark is more feminist than any of the tripe hotd has tried putting forward lmao
🗣️ every word that came out of alicent's mouth in s2 in regards to aemond and aegon is bad writing. she condemns aegon to public death and aemond to death in battle because she believes - and the writers believe - and we are meant to believe - that they deserve to die, that they are both so irredeemable and fundamentally worthless as human beings because of their crimes (many of which they committed by c&h's own creative choice) that their continued existence is a shameful thorn in alicent's side. the only one she cares about now is helaena because of her "innocence." to have them wiped from existence would be a sort of cleansing for alicent and a reasonable price to pay for her freedom and the end of the war.
like.... in what world??? how am i supposed to buy that aegon and aemond are any worse than daemon?? than viserys? but only the men who support rhaenyra get redemption arcs, even when those redemption arcs do nothing to address the rot in their characters. daemon's most problematic trait isn't that he coveted his wife's throne. it's that he's a misogynist who was physically violent with said wife after he groomed her as a child in retaliation for a conflict with his brother (and i happen to like the guy!!!). it's that he's dismissive of women in general, including laena and his daughters, and was downright nasty to rhea for the entirety of their marriage until he onscreen!murdered her. and okay, some of these, like aemond and aegon's, are fanon crimes, but none of this is ever brought up, none of this is addressed in any meaningful way, it's okay because he bends the knee to rhaenyra and builds her an army and swears to never leave her. redemption. he is a man cleansed of his sins and we must accept him as such.
but aegon and aemond? who are much younger than him? were written off by the narrative long ago. it doesn't matter that aegon got a few sympathetic scenes this season; the fact that they made his mother offer up his life to rhaenyra (and that the scene approves of her decision by framing her as finally free underneath an open sky, with the belief that it's just her and helaena now) tells us everything we need to know.
baela not wanting or caring about driftmark for herself or rhaena is soo emblematic of hotd s2’s aversion to having women involved in any kind of compelling conflict its insane. noo grandpa you can name the toddler i have every reason to believe my aunt cheated on my uncle to get and then had my uncle unceremoniously murdered so she could immediately marry my dad. i dont mind ❤️. failing that i’m sure your bastard son my grandma went out of her way to say i dont mind im not a bitch wife cheat on me at sea all you like ❤️ about is free. youd think either of these scenarios might be ripe for exploration of this shows purported theme of how male-line inheritance degrades the family’s women telling them they’re inherently lesser than their male counterparts but no
Aemond Targaryen - House of the Dragon S2E1 -> a son for a son
Since I have a lot more time on my hands now until I can find another way to make money, perhaps even find a way to follow my dream of monetizing my writing, I can get back to publishing storys on here.
While I haven't been updating on here it's not because I stopped writing but mostly because I had redirected what little creative flow I had (after the trainwreck that was season 2) into writing scripts for my own version of House of the Dragon / Fire and Blood shows.
I currently do not plan to release those, at least not until S3 is out, but I have regained more motivation for writing so I'm back starting today.
I'll be releasing my teased one-shot "Broken Bonds | Maelor x f!highborn!reader x Aemond x Aegon" that I had teased A LONG time ago here tomorrow.
Don't hate me for the long wait please. Its just the first (and so far only) type of story that I have written like that. The latter half of it hits a sore spot in me and I struggle to continue writing and editing when I'm crying lol. That's why I usually just write horny storys or some drama.
But this story is one that I do want to share with others so I am now pushing myselt to stop re-editing it time and time again in an attempt to get it "perfect" and just post it. It will be the first thing to go online after I've finished editing and will be followed either by new Chapters of Mother's Madness or a new story called Redemotion (Maegor x f!noble!reader).
See you soon. Love y'all <3
I read the Ep. 4 spoilers yesterday and if they're true... let's just say go for it babygirl
i don't know what crime he's planning but whatever aemond does i'm on his side
Ewan to the question: ''And when you said she can be the mom he always wanted her to be, what does that look like?'' has answered.
''I think one that just has love for him. That's how we beat Aemond, it's with love. We gotta give him a hug''
Crying, I knew it, Aemond just wants love, he's dying to be loved, my baby. And I add of my own making, his love language is touch.
Ewan Mitchell interview for TVGUIDE
I honestly dont like how they have changed the whole "Aemond" perspective from showing him as the fierce and strategic person to someone who simply relies on whispers from his small council and would not know things otherwise. There is no way that the message regarding dragonseeds reached Kings landings,Adam got the dragon, and people sneaked from Kings landing to Dragonstone without him knowing ANYTHING!!! This sudden change of showing him as a weak leader is so unfair to his character arc.
Why is only Team Black preparing for the war? why is Team Green shown as one's waiting for war to happen to prepare for it. I simply don't understand this.
Alicent knew the truth and yet she hid it from her family. Her saying that she has served the realm really doesn't do justice when she is the reason the war is happening in the first place. She should be preparing for it if what she claims " her service to the realm" has been!
I honestly dont understand this writing and I believe this certainly messes up the arcs
!!!!!????!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!???????!?!?!?!?!

Aemond Targaryen in House Of The Dragon S2E3
I find it fascinating how the general audience seems to view Viserys as this wise and peaceful ruler, girldad and loving husband who did nothing wrong his entire life.
Yet even according to show!canon he continually impregnated Aemma in hopes for a male heir, despite her having MULTIPLE life threatening pregnancies. We have a scene of him raping underage Alicent. He ignores all his sons and daughter resulting from said rapes. But he's such a cool dad because he lies to the entire realm on behalf of his firstborn daughter's bastards! He's a dragon dreamer and he believes the big Ice and Fire prophecy, yet he has no interest in his second daughter who clearly has visions of sorts. Certified girldad. He never ensures the safety of Alicent's children after his death because he didn't even protect them when he was alive. He does nothing when his son gets maimed, in fact, he protects his grandson who did it. He has a family dinner on the brink of death and we're supposed to feel bad for him because the kids are making a scene. Up to this point he simply ignores hostilities and never tries to make peace between the two sides.
But apparently he's smart and kind and progressive for naming a woman heir (out of fear of his brother getting to sit on the iron throne).
