Can we talk about Your School?
Recorded in 1984, never released (except a clip on Oobu Joobu)
We're gonna talk it out someday All that is nearest and dearest I want it, you want it, they want it too And me? I want to love you Come on baby ... what have you've got Tell me that I learned a lot in your school, your school... I never thought [it meant/I'd learn] so much I'm just a poor fool in love, your school... I never felt the gentle touch until ..... I met you Oohhh you better tell me all you know Concerning this situation oohhoohooh I'd like, you'd like it, they always do... Me? I still wanna love you
I can't help but interpret this as Paul desperately wishing for a really deep and public reconciliation with John.
Two lyrics it puts me in mind of:
I never give you my number I only give you my situation And in the middle of investigation I break down
You Never Give Me Your Money
and
You must have learned something in all those years
How Do You Sleep
The fact they have the same name doesn't mean he must to play him
I have nothing against the actor it's not his fault, I blame the casting director
…[John and Paul] are so totally in sync that they carry that through to a natural break, and you see John glancing to his side with this look of just fantastic joy, like they’ve just done something together that they never could have done on their own. - Joshua Wolf Shenk
It was the morning that we recorded 'Arrow Through Me'. The night before had been a particularly long one, it was the only time he ever spoke about it, nothing about his relationship, it was just more of a feeling that I had than anything, that he just missed that closeness... just a perception. My God, he misses John - that it was a huge hole in his life.
- Steve Holley [Wings' drummer from 1978 to 1981].
i mean he really couldn't have been clearer
John Lennon and Paul McCartney interviewed in Plymouth (1964)
Just what is with the tension between John and Paul at the Plaza?
Paul not making eye contact with John as he walks past
John whistling in response because he, as we all know, doesn't care
George and Ringo's smiles immediately dropping when they see John come over
John barely able to raise a smile at Ringo's joke
What is going on?!
