Quick Frankenstein's monster sketch in Procreate.
Me and @/fearandhungerimagines have had our official crossover! (They don't know I exist)
Ares in Mythology:
Kills the guy who tried to assault his daughter and refused to apologize for it when he got put on trial (it was ruled justifiable homicide by Athena btw).
The only time he’d been captured in battle was when he was protecting his mom from being captured by giants who wanted to forcibly marry her.
Found and Freed Thanatos when he was imprisoned by Sisyphus when no other Gods could
Helps found the Amazons by helping their founder escape her abusive husband and becomes their patron God.
Genuinely loves and respects Aphrodite as her own person
One of his epithets is “feasted by women”.
Ares in Modern Media:
Meatheaded sexist asshole out of an eighties teen movie.
Conclusion: My boy is getting done dirtier than Hades in modern representation. Ares is one of the least problematic Gods in the pantheon (except for the murders, I will grant you) and ya’ll are sleeping on him.
Unpopular opinion, if you're being silent about the palestine situation knowing that you are aware of what's happening right now and you refuse to listen to anyone that tells you to talk about it then you are apart of the problem.
What fucking Scott pilgrim anime did y’all watch bro😭😭😭/ref
Nega Scollace is my love and life
I feel like this is the type of shit Jekyll’s servants had to deal with when Hyde was around.
I did some redesigns on two of my dnd ocs recently. They're from a greek myth inspired dnd campaign that was run a time ago. (yes, i know the first one is not ancient greek; hes christian inspired its lore)
i am feeling an unbridled, explosive urge to live and create. I'm filled to the brim w/ potential energy to draw and write and read and act and learn and all those artsy good things that keep me breathing. BAAAHHH ITS THE BEST FEELING EVERRRRR i can only wish that everyone who reads this will feel those electrifying sparks w/ me!! KEEP BEING YOUR BEAUTIFUL BEST SELVES <3
Hello again, friend of a friend..
Time for Aphrodite & Ares!
So, for Aphrodite, I didn't want to go with her 'golden hair' descriptions. There's nothing wrong with that, but for me, it's very stereotypical. So, I went for more of her representing the phrase 'a fiery passion' or something similar. Like her hair looks like a flame. But I remember finding a quote, don't know if it was from Homer or someone else, but in the text, they described that Aphrodite had golden hair because her hair was adorned with golden jewelry. So, I went with that. But I'll probably make Aphrodite more voluptuous in the animatic. The ancient Greeks love having something to hold onto.
As for Ares… Well, I just gave him a helmet and man boobas. And called it a day.
I don't have anything new at the table. Most of my headcanons about him are based on his personality, I guess.
To be honest, I initially considered incorporating more imagery of a serpent or a boar. The serpent is his sacred animal, and he transformed into a boar in the myth of Adonis. I even sketched out his helmet with horns or boar tusks, but it seemed a bit too cluttered. And, giving him horns made him look like a stereotypical Viking...
drew tokens for our whole group and they're very cute hehe
