Handbinding Project: My Immortal by Tara Gilesbie
This really started over a year ago, with a project started in the Renegade Bindery server: people would format different chapters of My Immortal, without knowing what anyone else was doing, and we would put them together into one file. It was agreed upon that everybody would disregard both good design and good taste.
(If you click on each image, the caption lists who designed the page in question. I couldn’t include them all here, but every page is basically a work of art. Horrible, typographically hellish art.)
After raiding a Joann’s of materials I thought belonged in Hot Topic circa 2005 (before it just became Think Geek II: We Don’t Light Our Store,) I almost immediately tested positive for covid. So I made most of this over the last four days, and with varying levels of coherent thought and common sense. The process is documented in a thread here
La etiqueta que os interesa buscar es #fanbinding. De nada.
What people think why i became a bookbinder: Oh she wants to explore her artistic horizon with those pretty leather bound books of hers. She even gives them out as gifts to her friends. It most likely helps her with anxiety or maybe she just wanted a more special costume made notebook.
Why I actually became a bookbinder: I just illegally downloaded and printed out several of my favourite fanfics and books and started binding them into books cuz I love reading them but looking at screens for too long gives me headaches.
Se acaba de filtrar el post de alguien por tener la palabra clave «Luke» y es la primera vez que al abrirlo se trataba del Lucas evangelista y no del trotacielos.
Esto es doblemente gracioso, porque ¿qué hace Jay en el último episodio?
(Spoilers)
Exacto.

it's time again for the ✨#ADHDCosmicTakeover!✨ my comic this year is about pinballing helplessly between interests and the frustrating feeling of being a "jack of all trades, master of none" (but who said i have to be a "master" of anything anyway? fuck off!)
thank you so much to dreamadoodles for organizing this year! pls check out the tag to see more comics from other contributors 🌠
just stumbled across Francisco Soria Aedo’s work and first off: really good painter, super talented. He mainly did portraits and neoclassical but I really like are his expressions, which do show up in his neoclassical work. lots of people smiling and having fun and it’s just very cute
this is one of my favorites
If I drove a bulldozer through an apple store and the cops just shoved me in a closet and pumped me full of DMT for 8 hours id literally just do it again the second they let me out
Distaffs from Lithuania
the one thing thing funnier than this caption is that the only reason they stopped doing it was that the ferret shit in the tube
Hey mentally ill people of tumblr, specifically people with anxiety disorders and depressive disorders
If you feel like your treatment isn’t getting you anywhere, I HIGHLY suggest looking into seeing if you have Celiac Disease
Celiac Disease is a physical illness, but it has a lot of varied symptoms including just straight up anxiety and depression
(from celiac.org)
Celiac disease is EXTREMELY COMMON (it effects an estimated 1/100 people) and can be treated VERY EASILY by eating a gluten free diet.
I think that a lot of people out there are suffering from undiagnosed celiac disease and might not have the medical resources to do endless testing before someone eventually figured it out (since the symptoms are so various, people are usually tested for other illnesses before celiac disease is considered) so if you are suffering from any of these symptoms and you feel like they aren’t getting better, ask your doctor to check for Celiac disease (it’s a blood test) because it’s actually really common but really hard to diagnose

what happens when two dramatic bitches like Geralt and Aragorn visit the same tavern on the same night and there’s only one corner table for them to brood at in a solitary fashion, would they take turns or share a booth while simply refusing to acknowledge each other’s existence

Mysterious ceramic jars may actually be 900-year-old Crusader hand grenades
In the new study, researchers analyzed chemical remains found within four sphero-conical containers that were uncovered at a site called Armenian Gardens in Jerusalem and date to between the 11th and 12th centuries. The team found that one container was likely used to hold oil, another two stored scented materials, such as perfume or medicine, while the final container was laced with traces of explosive materials — hinting that it was used as a handheld explosive device.
it’s so fucking hot outside all my genderfluid friends are about to turn into gender vapor
please watch this i love him
Okay, don't get me wrong here. I LOVE Jurassic Park. I love seeing their dinosaurs. But after watching Prehistoric Planet, and going back to look at this...
And then looking at this...
Notice how much healthier the second set looks? Their lips cover their teeth, they actually have fat on their bodies, their skin doesn't wrinkle like they're dehydrated. You can't see every single tendon and muscle move because you aren't supposed to. Dinosaurs are animals, not reptilian body-builders.
THIS is the kind of change I want to see in how we create realistic depictions of not only dinosaurs, but all prehistoric creatures. Paleoart has always had a huge issue with shrink-wrapping and making these animals look terrifying instead of making them look like, well, animals.
Well done, BBC.
