Berenzia- a kingdom ruled by a powerful, stern King. For most of his rule, most anyone would report that he was a fair man to those who relied on him and merciless to those who opposed him or wished harm to his kingdom. It’s said there was once a time where he had calmed, finally found himself beyond his role, and all was well. The people loved, practically worshipped, their soft, perfect, patient, and kind Queen but the King would tell anyone that it paled in comparison to his love for her. The King and Queen were truly one half to the same whole and envied by all. As with all things, it did not last. In a classic tale of tragedy, the King lost his beloved Queen and it is said that it was an event he could never recover from. Whisperings in the street and kingdom’s borders would report that he lost his humanity the day the Queen died.

An event that coincides with your birth.

Play as the only child of Berenzia’s king- from your isolated youth to your isolated adulthood. You’re relatively safe from your father’s ire until your mid-twenties as you must fulfill your duty and get advantageously married. Build your relationships with your childhood friends, your new suitors, and a new friend. Will you do your father’s bidding or will you take destiny into your hands?

Aleksander “Alek” [M]:

Age: 25

Physical Description: 6’4”, ivory skin painted with freckles, red, loosely curled hair that reaches his nape, broad shoulders, thin waist, deceivingly strong despite appearance, crooked nose from a break, with warm, brown eyes.

Personality: Warm, affable, easy-going, energetic, extroverted, and impossible to not get along with. Makes anyone feel like they’re the only person in the room… until you walk in. [ENFP-T]

Info: Your childhood friend since diapers, you were born only two days apart. Alek is your first, and closest, friend. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. He has loved you his whole life but will never act upon it, believing you could never feel the same. He enters the battle for your hand not because he hopes you’ll see him as more than a friend, but to give you a friendly, familiar face to choose from. He’ll only ever have eyes for you. (Note: Can choose Alek for a platonic,romantic, or poly route)

Orion [M]:

Age: 24

Physical Description: 6’2”, tawny skin with small burn scars scattered on his forearms from cooking, stocky build, straight brown hair (loosely tied in a knot), with piercing green eyes.

Personality: Hardworking, sardonic, introverted, pessimistic, and pessimistic. [ISTJ-A]

Info: Orion began working in the castle at a very young age, thus being one of the only other children you had around growing up. Orion could not stand your demands or position and was, and always will be, quick to point out how the real world works. Despite his cold behavior, he does come around to like you as a person (friend or romantic) and will do anything to make things… livable for you. You often spend time taking up space in his kitchen as a sanctuary of sorts. (Note: available for romantic and poly route)

Cyrus [M]:

Age: 29

Physical Description: 5’10”, chestnut skin, thin, black hair that falls in messy waves (reaches his shoulders), with dark brown (nearly black) eyes.

Personality: Flighty, playful, cunning, charming, deceptive, extroverted, and (occasionally) manipulative. [ESTP-A]

Info: An inconsequential prince (fourth born) from a bordering, allied kingdom. Takes life as it comes and never tries to be serious about anything. He has entered for your hand to continue his easy life with hopefully less people trying to control his actions. He is a flirt above all else, capturing every heart he desires, but never offers his own.

Relationship to MC: Stranger, suitor

Irvine [M]:

Age: 28

Physical Description: 6’0”, sun-kissed skin, straight, dark blonde hair that falls to his waist, muscular build, scar across his eyebrow and lip, with one gray eye and one brown eye.

Personality: Calm, sweet, patient, ambitious, peaceful, extroverted, and warm. [ENFJ-T]

Info: The second born prince from a country threatening to wage war against your own. He is hoping for a mutually beneficial marriage between the two of your to keep peace. Despises war and will do anything with minimal bloodshed to get it. Will promise you near anything if you give him your hand. Will wear whatever mask he needs to, as well. (Note: Available for platonic route or a strictly physical route)

Blaire [F]:

Age: 23

Physical Description: 5’2”, deep umber skin tone, tightly curled (4B) black hair that reaches her jaw, thin build, with amber eyes.

Personality: Fun, mischievous, joyful, secretive, confident, conspiratorial, extroverted, playful, and a tease. [ENFJ-T]

Info: One of the latest nobles to hit the scene, her father is staying at the castle to work with the king to further himself as an advisor. Noticing you lack companionship, especially female, Blaire’s father offers her up to spend her days with you. She is your first female friend and confidant. Happy to give you opinions on your suitors- you’ve become her latest project and game.

-Currently the MC and ROs are gender set as I am still learning choicescript and don’t know logistically how complicated gender selecting will be with this being my first project. MC is currently written as female and the ROs set gender is listed by their name above. This is subject to change with time.

-Still working on if I will end the project with choicescipt or twine, but for now all demo is going to choicescript.

- I have about 6,000 words all typed out over four scenes and am hoping to have the demo up and going once I have the MC through toddler phase. So far I finished the MC being born.

In case you don't know me, I'm known in other places as Bl00dragon, though here I've taken the name of Nocifer. I'm a writer of interactive fiction, I work so far in Choicescript mostly on two works in progress which I intend to submit to Choice of Game for the Hosted Games label.

Summary

You are a demon.

..Actually, maybe it's more accurate to say that you used to be a demon.

You know you used to be a proud member of the demon realm, someone who held power above most of its residents. You know you used to be important.

At least, until you got kicked out for god knows what. Beyond that, you haven't got a single inkling about it all. After all, they stripped you of your memories and your traits as a powerful demon, leaving an amnesiac human-like being slumped in a sketchy alleyway somewhere without anything to wear.

It's been quite a while now (two years, if you can recall correctly) and you're feeling quite good about where you've ended up in life. You're starting to make a living at a humble café, you know some good people... The only things you really need to worry about is tending to your vice and paying rent!

But then somehow one thing after another happens, and your peaceful life suddenly turned into anything but. First a girl gets attacked because she turns out to be something similar to the holy grail. Then that leads to you awakening your dormant powers after this whole time? After that, you have no choice but to get comfy in a new job at a strip club while finding out your true identity?

..Man, maybe your therapist needs a pay rise.

Features

A wide range of customisation for your character, in terms of both physical appearance and personality, amongst other things!

Multiple love interests to choose from. Differing backstories, route scenes and possible past trauma included in the package, hooray! Some of them are susceptible to polyamory for those who can't choose, and those that don't want romance can take a hit at the friendship route because who said demons can't have friends?

Aside from LIs, you get to meet, interact and even influence a colourful cast of characters here. Maybe you want to be nice to them, or maybe you want to be the worst possible specimen towards them. Who knows, maybe you'll get something out of it.

Find out who you were before your banishment from Hell, along with why you were banished. As the truth slowly unravels itself, will you do everything to make your way back to your original post in the demon realm or will you stay and be part of something greater for yourself?

As time passes and you experience things day by day, your powers start to return to its true potential. Whatever you want to do with them is up to you, though do be mindful of the fact that consequences are a thing.

You have a certain vice that you cannot simply leave alone, lest you want to literally destroy yourself. You know this has something to do with your demonic origins but don't actually know what to do about it. Now that multiple possibilities have been opened to you, will you continue to tend to your vice or find a way to end the feeling of addiction once and for all?

Work in a strip club as a bartender! Put those barista skills to good use in the nightlife, yeah? (Note: I'm not a bartender so forgive me for any mistakes made lmao)

Talk to your therapist. You're going to need her. And maybe the therapist needs a therapist too, but she's getting paid to listen to you so she's determined.

Love Interests (incomplete list)

Ashlynn Whitlock - she/her, pansexual, magus.

"My ideal day off is a day in my house. It spares me from trouble outside of it. After all, look what happened when I went out a week ago..."

Due to her wealthy yet distant upbringing, Ashlynn grew up to be a quiet girl, anxious without much of a will or an opinion.. until she does. She also ended up being bound to you an impromptu contract that neither of you have an idea how to get out of. Instead of protesting or even reacting, she simply shrugs, emotions dulled out after years of neglect. How will your presence influence her sense of self, and would it be for the better or for worse?

She usually ties down her naturally white hair in a low tail despite not being albino or her age, though that's due to her bloodline. Her skin is extremely pale with light, faded scars littering it from the neck down and her eyes shine a vibrant amber colour. She also wears glasses and practically cannot see without it.

Alistair Whitlock - he/him, straight, magus.

"And you're telling me to.. 'work for it'? Right... Listen, who the hell do you think I am?"

The proud son of the Whitlock family, Alistair is who Ashlynn isn't—charismatic and proud to a fault. Showing off all that he possibly can, ranging from mind-blowing works to even the slightest action such as drinking a whole cup of water as quick as possible. Behind all that bravado, however, is a hell of a lot of insecurity. And maybe a bit of guilt over his sister. Will you be able to have him finally let down their guard and just be himself, or will he double down?

Like Ashlynn, he has white hair too and it's usually swept to the side. With jade green eyes and pale skin, he takes pride in his appearance. There's a faint scar on his temple, though he pretends that it doesn't exist.

Jacqueline "Jackie" De La Fontaine - she/they, lesbian, witch.

"Sometimes I cannot fathom why my patience is lasting longer than my full name."

Despite not being straight herself, Jackie is the one who sets everyone on the straight and narrow, including the club's owner himself. She thinks of herself like the sardonic older sister, though the others deem her more like a protective mother with a sarcastic streak with her cards very close to her chest. Will you be the first person (in a while) to see her hand, or will she see you as another mistake?

She dyed her hair pink due to a stupid bet but ended up keeping it because she looked good with it. She usually keeps it in a bun. With an olive skin tone and striking blue eyes, it's easy to see how she far surpasses the beauty standard. Her friends notice that she never ages, though. How strange. And lucky. But mostly strange, even for a witch.

Kazuki Fujioka - he/him, bisexual, ???

"Hey, listen... When you think about it, the word 'bed' looks a lot like an actual bed, right? Riiiight? I'm not wrong, am I?"

Kazuki may as well dye his hair blonde because he is the perfect depiction of a golden retriever. Eager to please and extremely curious, you can count on him to do his very best, no matter what. Surprisingly, though, his heart is closed off from everyone, wearing a happy grin despite whatever may be behind it. It feels like there's something mildly eerie and fundamentally wrong about him... Will you find out why, and will you embrace it or not?

He has shaggy, jet black hair and similarly black eyes. His skin is practically blessed by the melanin gods, having the perfect amount of tan to suit him best. He has multiple ear piercings too!

This WIP is still at its very early stages, with the original idea being in ChoiceScript before I scrapped the first idea and went onto Twine instead.
