I have never made a tutorial in my entire life but here ya go, enjoy :)
Alright fellas, the materials u need are:
Fabric(u can choose any colour it doesn't matter) (also don't try this on textured fabric (silk, velvet, etc...))
Scissors
A ballpoint pen
A paintbrush
Bleach(u can also use paint but I decided to go with bleach)
Cardboard
Indigo paper
First of all, u need a design! U can print it out or trace it with a pencil from a computer screen like I did.
If your design is larger than a A4 paper don't worry u can trace on how many pieces of paper u need and then just tape them together like I did
I used an old shirt witch I don't need anymore. (Don't throw away any excess fabric because you don't know when is gonna be useful)
Then I put the cardboard inside the shirt, so the bleach(or paint) isn't gonna go throught the shirt and on the desk too
(If you are gonna paint on a shirt u are gonna wear after, make sure u center ur design, and especially don't forget to put something inside the shirt)
I will be not caring that much about centering the design because I will be cutting it afterwards but I will still be putting a cardboard inside because I will most likely use the remaining fabric in other diy projects and I don't want it to be full of bleach
I taped the paper witch my design is on to the indigo paper, and then I placed it on the fabric and started tracing the contour with a ballpoint pen
(I used a ballpoint pen because it doesn't tears throught the paper when I go over the design)
(ALSO IF U ARE DOING THIS FOR A T-SHIRT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE SURE THE DESIGN IS POSITIONED WHERE U WANT IT TO BE)
And as u can see it works amazing on black fabric so you shouldn't have any problems tracing it on lighter coloured fabrics :)
And done!!! :D
I work with bleach so I put some in a small plastic container witch I will be throwing away after I'm done.
Now, take a paintbrush and you basically start painting but be careful because you can't erase mistakes!!!!!!
The painting is gonna take a while btw :)
Now that what u painted is done, u should leave the bleach to sit on the fabric till it changes colour(around 5 min is good), then go wash it with a bit of soap and water and leave it to dry
When bleached, the colour of the fabric will affect the colour of the bleached areas. For example:
Lighter blue turns white
Purple, dark blue, gray and brown turn pink
Black turns orange/red
Green turns yellow/light green
Red turns orange
etc
If u are using fabric paint, I suggest you leave it to dry overnight and also most fabric paint brands recommend ironing the fabric after it dried
And then ur painting is done wow!!!
Now, I will also be showing ya'll how to make it a back patch!
Alright so, first of all u need to measure how big u want the patch to be. Now, go trace the outline with something visible(a pencil, chalk, eyeliner pen,a wax crayon, literally whatever that leaves a mark on the fabric)
Then, u want to start cutting an inch(or something like that) away from the outline u drew earlier(I will explain why u did thar later)
So, basically this:
It doesn't needa to be a perfect straight cut btw
After u did that, you want to pin the patch to your vest/jacket/whatever but with that inch of fabric folded underneath
And then u start sewing it! :D
I used an thick black thread but u can use whatever thread u want :)
And here's the final result!!! >:)
Boys with long hair rb if you agree
Me, age 12, seeing Joan Jett for the first time: hope this doesn't awake anything in me
Vince saying “I’m such a good, good boy” in Girls Girls Girls, reblog if you agree.
Y'know what, fuck this bullshit. I need to know y'all are actually against it.
I hope to make @staff see how that is total bullshit. Tumblr will die without writers/creators.
I want so bad to start posting here some things (like drawings or some shit i like) but omg, i am a little insecure about start to posting things hahah, but i will try😼
reblog this and tag the first vine that comes to ur mind. mine is the one of the people yelling at cabbage
There’s no third, funny option, just the first two because it’s good to just support people because they deserve support.
