I think Fox Mulder would love Gravity Falls but Stanford Pines would despise The X-Files

how to say "I love you" in x-files [136/?] ⤷ 2.09 — "Firewalker"
The fringe Parasitic Encephalization Theory claims our nervous system is a parasite that took over the body of the earliest vertebrate ancestor. It captures 20% of the body's resources, while staying separate from the blood and being considered unique by the immune system.
While very few defend this theory, one fact supports it: If the body dies while the skull is open, the brain and spinal cord sometimes detach and briefly flail outside, in what could perhaps be an ancient host-seeking reflex.
Speaking of Mulder and mental health, I see his paranoia about keeping Scully safe in particular as a manifestation of anxiety post Samantha (justified in his world, obviously) but it doesn't get framed as that in the original show because action heroes can't have mental health issues aside from when we want Mulder to try to kill himself and only then for like 30 seconds
this was such a first big moment for them <3 and then they proceeded to be confined with each other in a small cubicle on several occasions and once shirtless during the rest of the episode <3
My art from this year so far :)
Fox Mulder appreciation post

the x files was not meant to exist in the 2000's and it knew it
starting a theory the show is sentient and it committed suicide at the turn of the millennium which is why all the rest of the episodes were Like That bc it's soul was Dead
I cant belive I saw this show when I was 8 and this is my taste in men since 😭
