Waking up with Natalia Andreeva
My sister and I had this long standing tradition of getting together and watching a movie on the first Saturday of each month. We alternated who got to pick the movie and it never failed that she would pick a sappy drama while I would pick an action flick or horror movie. For the past year, her thirty-one-year-old boyfriend has been joining us and he brought comedies to the table, most often of the raunchy variety.
I got to choose the movies since she had to cancel for three months straight on me. It was only supposed to be me and her, so when I got there and saw him? Well, it irritated me, to say the least. He was a complete dick.
I rolled my eyes when he opened the door and he smirked, “Happy belated birthday, Rachel,” he said.
I pushed past him and saw my sister putting her earrings in her ear, an apologetic look on her face, “You have to go to work?” I asked.
She nodded, “I won’t be long I hope. I have a few calls out to try and get someone else in but for now, I have to fill in for Andy, he busted up his leg on his motorcycle. Start the movies and we will celebrate when I get home, I promise.”
I tossed the movies to Dick, which was not his name, but it was what I called him. He looked them over and shook his head before he looked at my sister, “Your little sister is fucking morbid,” he said to his girlfriend.
She smiled and nodded, “You have to be macabre to some degree in order to survive in our family,” she said.
Carrie looked at me and wagged her finger accusingly, “Behave, no tricks, no fights. You’re both adults so I expect you to act like it.”
I stuck my tongue out at her and smiled then looked at him, “Tell him not to piss me off then,” I replied.
Carrie looked at Dick and he held his hands up, “I’ll try but she gets pissed off at the slightest fucking thing sometimes.”
My sister looked back at me and I crinkled my nose and twisted my smirk into more of a sneer, “I’ll try,” I said.
