From the moment they met, Bingley's love for Jane was constant and unwavering. Bingley, for all his endearing golden retriever-esque cheer and exuberance, is humble to the point of insecurity. So he's all too ready to believe it when Darcy, the person whose opinion and judgment he values most in this world, informs Bingley that Jane doesn't seem genuinely interested in him. Bingley never once doubts how deeply he cares for Jane - he just lets himself believe that Jane doesn't love him in return.

I saw something (not here - it was on an inferior website lol!) about how Bingley is the type to stray and just mindlessly fall for every pretty girl who crosses his path, but there's actually less than zero evidence of that. He loves Jane and ONLY Jane - but since he and Jane don't possess enough of the novel's titular 'pride' while Darcy and Elizabeth initially have too much of it, Bingley just didn't allow himself to believe that someone as lovely and sweet as Jane reciprocated those feelings. Even during those months apart, rather than latching onto another infatuation, Bingley continued to pine over Jane and his feelings remained strong and true. I'm the unofficial captain of the Charles Bingley Defense Squad in case anyone else wants to join ;)

ive been sending my apprentice on dangerous quest because i fucking hate him and want him to die, ive told the guy to retrieve rare rock salts out of active volcanos and to take the neck bones from venomous frost giants, yknow impossible stuff, and he completes every task unharmed without fail, its really pissing me off, i think im just gonna bludgeon him when he walks through the door

We don't need 'cures' as there is nothing to cure. There is nothing wrong with us, only wrong with how we are treated by society and many ableist physicians in general... We may need accomodation, proper societal integration and support, and most of all; We need respect! This is only acheived through proper education.

It is traumatizing how we are collectively abused by ableists without compassion nor any sign of interest in learning about autism and neurodivergency in general. This world is traumatizing! It's sad so many on the spectrum have co-morbid PTSD... primarily because they often tend to become the center of all attack and abuse by neurotypical ableists for so many years, or even for their entire life-time.

The ignorance and collective desinterest in autism in the health sector is often really ableist and harmful as well.

Making autism diagnosis even more unaccesible is so concerning, and again it's one of the many steps mankind takes back towards middle ages...

Autism is not over-diagnosed. Autism is under-educated.

Tumblr Hack Week, September 2022 Edition

It was Hack Week (more than just a day!) once again at Tumblr! A couple of times per year we slow down our normal work and spend a week working on whatever we want and see how far we can get with our hacks. The main star of the last Hack Week was the “Summon crab!” button, and we loved it so much that we rolled it out not just for April Fools this year, but we made it our first gift-able widget in TumblrMart!

Here are some of the projects that got made for this most recent Hack Week in September. Some of these things you may also end up seeing on the site…

Tumbeast Digital Pet

Ben worked on adding our friendly server room Tumbeasts to Tumblr as a cute little digital pet. You can feed them and play with them, and they poop and get unhappy and need tending, of course. Who wouldn’t want one of these to take care of every day on Tumblr, forever and ever?

Tumblr Blaze on TumblrMart

@adalpari added Tumblr Blaze as a gift-able item in TumblrMart, which would allow folks to buy Blaze "credits" for other people. Perfect for those times you see an amazing post on Tumblr that definitely deserves to be spread around, and you don’t mind throwing some money at letting that person have a chance to spread it via Blaze!

User Account Switcher

@yi5h hacked together an account switcher for the web, so that folks can log in to more than one Tumblr account and easily switch back and forth between them. Super handy if you have one account for your roleplaying character, and another for your Star Trek fandom discussions. Very useful!

Tumblr Collections

On web as well, João made a version of an idea that’s floated around many times, the idea of being able to organize posts on Tumblr into "collections" that can be named and shared. I think everyone would very much enjoy having a collection called "waves" that’s just soothing GIFs of ocean waves.

They learn valuable lessons, overcome obstacles, and develop into a better version of themselves. This arc is often associated with themes of redemption, self-discovery, and the triumph of the human spirit. Characters like Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol or Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games exemplify positive change arcs.

Negative Change Arc: Contrasting the positive change arc, the negative change arc delves into the descent or downfall of a character. It explores the moral decline, corruption, or internal conflicts that lead the character astray. This arc can be dark and intense, showcasing the destructive power of choices or external influences.
