can we just talk about this scene for a sec?
This was the first time I’ve ever noticed Tony so surprised at his own work. When he built his suits and made upgrades, he seemed so confident that he was able to pull it off, it was “as a matter of fact”.
This Tony on the other hand, looked as if he never expected himself to solve time travel (he even said it himself in the movie). This is the look of a Tony who has encountered defeat. He lost all confidence and felt useless. This scene was the moment he realised he still had it in him, and it breaks my heart to see the trauma and self-doubt infinity war caused him.
this cured my depression. my anxiety. my bills. my job. everything’s fine. i hope you have a good day

+the significance of the user/vessel relationship
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR #261 Proceed at own risk.
all this talk of gojo being treated like a weapon his whole life on twitter is wild af imo. gojo was treated more like a king/god his whole life not a weapon. grown adults feared him as a child and everyone put him on a pedestal from the day he was born. he was treated like he was special. and he was special as he was the strongest. sure this put pressure on him as "with great power comes great responsibility" but once he 'ascended' in round 2 with Toji he fully accepted it. the most famous line of the series affirms that: In all the heavens and the earth, I alone am the honored one
those are not the words of someone you can control. and weapons you can control. jujutsu society tiptoed around gojo trying to tame him so to speak out of their fear of him. but he still pretty much did what he wanted anyway. he actively tried to fight against the jujutsu world as it was and wanted to change it. not in a brutish way at all but he knew how to play politics and was damn good at it too. him wanting to change jujutsu society was also the reason he was even a teacher in the first place. if he was simply treated as a weapon he would have been a pure mission machine, not bothered with teaching. he tried to empower his students and wanted them to surpass him for that reason. he had goals and hopes for the future gojo simply had way too much ambition, self-confidence and smarts to be simply used as a weapon.
if anyone was treated like a weapon it was megumi, he had a power that could rival gojos and even gojo admitted that. but megumi took zero agency in his own life and had zero ambitions. his family treated him like a commodity and he had no real pride or interest in his own abilities other than developing them because that was what was expected. Plus he thought so little of himself/lacked value for his own life he called mahoraga at every inconvenience. mahoraga, who no one with his ability had been able to master, should have been an ultimate test of skills for him yet he treated it as a kamakazi tool. that further speaks to the lack of ambition. megumi even gave up the will to live, once his sister died. letting sukuna easily take over his body without a fight. megumi was easily, molded, used and broken as people saw fit, that is the definition of a weapon. gojo and megumi are like ying and yang in that way especially because they have the two post powerful abilities in jujutsu society that could destroy each other.
i get people are sad and a bit weirded out at the whole using gojo's body thing to win but to say he was treated as a weapon his entire life is a gross mischaracterization of who he was and what he stood for.
however yuta is carrying out gojo's will of surpassing him. think of gojo's corpse as simply a shell of his ability. the ability does not define gojo (hence why he says he does not care about his body after he dies) its not even an innate ability its inherited.
the user and vessel relationship of kenjaku/geto, sukuna/megumi and now likely yuta/gojo is that they were all able to take those shells and surpass the original users. kenjaku speaks to this at the end of the shibuya arc that he was able to push beyond what suguru was capable of. this was foreshadowing as sukuna was able to defeat and master mahoraga and now yuta is most likely going to surpass gojo.
and overall once again my critique is while i dont necessarily hate the direction of the manga. i hate that it is not well developed enough to be going in the direction it is.
