Alternatives to Burning Sage for Cleansing

When you think of cleansing, the first method usually thought of is burning sage. But sometimes that’s not possible.

Reasons Why Burning Sage Might Not Be Your Method of Cleansing:

Your building/parents/dorm prohibits burning anything

There’s little to no ventilation where you would be cleansing

You or someone you live with has lungs that are compromised (asthma,bronchitis,weak lungs, etc.)

You or someone you live with has a smoke allergy

You live with pets/animals and have no place to safely place them while you are burning sage. 

You are scared of starting a fire

You do not have access/can afford to buy to ethically bought/sold sage. It is always better to buy cleansing sage, especially white sage from Native Americans.

You dislike the smell

Whatever your reason, it isn’t less effective to cleanse via other means. One isn’t more powerful than the other. It’s all about your focus, energy, and intent.

Here are some other methods of cleansing:

Use sea salt to cleanse (Be mindful of bugs/animals/environment when using this method)

Use holy water (Creation methods vary)

Use a bell and chime in areas to get rid of bad energy 

Use your voice/singing 

Using a broom and visualization to “sweep” the bad energy away (This is the origination of the myth that witches fly on broomsticks)

Burning white candles
