Sex scene or innuendo? Political message/idea they find to be anti-establishment? Characters whose genders or sexualities are declared 'deviant' by conservatism? Anti-obscenities laws are just purposefully misnamed openings for the government to steal your freedoms and oppress you & your neighbors.

"Obscenity" is just another way of saying "deviancy" - and the sort of men that want to make laws about it consider anything that discomfits or defies them to be a form of deviancy.
