My dad's been in surgery 8 times in 2 months. In those 2 months he hasn't been able to work, my mom's work doesn't pay alot and my brother and I still go to school. We have alot debt too and needa pay rent so we dont get kicked out- along with food. I really just wanna help my family out and I can't do it alone.
something is happening in my brain
you don't understand. he dug him out of the rubble. he lifted him out and cradled him like a lost lover. he carried him to safety on his own shoulders. he fed him by hand like a baby bird. are you hearing me. you don't get it. how long did it take him to get to a hospital in mexico. how many months did recovery take. how many nights of sleep did he lose wondering if he'd make it. you aren't listening. he dug him out of the rubble. he searched relentlessly until he found him and cradled him like he was the entire world. "I already lost you once, I can't lose you again" carries all the weight of months of painstaking care and labour, hospital bills and medications and soups and liquids and bathing and grooming and physical rehabilitation. "the only person I can trust in the entire world" carries the full weight of knowing firsthand that ivo would have never made it without stone. he would have died without him. do you hear me. do you hear me!!!!
appalachia is devastated. towns i loved, towns i visited all the time, are gone. not damaged, GONE. they are leveled to the ground. there is nothing left but rubble and ruin. people are dead. appalachia is poor to begin with and relies on tourism for a lot of its income, and multiple of those tourist locations are just...gone.
my town is okay, but it's flooded and wrecked. trees are blocking all but one way out of our neighborhood. power lines are hanging limp in the roads. we've been without power for over 24 hours and will continue to be without power for likely another 24+. disabled people and poor people are GOING to die from this. gods save appalachia.
squirrel girl be upon thee !!!!
