I am incapable of rewatching tv shows, even if they are my favourites. Consistent posts on specific fandoms are rare. My bad. she/her

They're inseparable.
I'm currently reading "The Universal Translator" by Yens Wahlgren.
This is the first non-fiction book I've genuinely enjoyed. There have been points where I have laughed or chuckled because it's just so fun.
This is a book about made-up langauges, known as conlangs. This means it covers everything from history's very first conlangs to your favourite fandom's languages. I'm having such a great time going from page to page thinking: "Omg! I've watched that show!"
So would truly recommend for those interested in languages or just any geek. It's got everything from Star Wars to Pingu.
find local theater near you. go to local theater near you. read plays. read non-fiction books. read fiction books written over one hundred years ago. go to the movie theater. watch movies with subtitles. watch slow movies. watch challenging movies. watch movies made for less than five million dollars. watch a documentary. watch television shows that have no fandoms. watch classic television shows. watch television shows starring actors that have no social media. read criticism of your favorite media frequently. think critically about your favorite media often. consume media made for adults.
That feeling when you still have an hour to go until Ides of March in your country
stop turning jack monogamous ianto wasnt "The One and Only Love Of His Life"
I aspire to dance like this man
I really hope he gets through to the final
I need Eurovision opinions
I for one am proud to be Estonian for the first time in my life
"Dark" on Netlfix if you have it is really good, and most tv shows on there will have a German dub if you want to rewatch an old favourite.
If you search up "Kika" on Google, a link to their channel should come up. Unless you live in Germany, you can only watch it in the evening, but the show Bernd das Brot is available on there, and he's an absolute icon for Germans.
I am currently learning German and was wondering if anyone has any good German media I can consume to help!
Eurovision?
In my doctor who season 2 trailer?
More likely than you think.
In 2025 let's be real. If Ianto hadn't died would he and Jack really have made it as a couple?
Found another torchwood episode with Welsh in it for you! The Grey Mare! Its a horror twist on the Mari Lwyd tradition. One of the main characters of the episode and the Mari Lwyd both use Welsh a few times
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
Thank you so much!
Your art style is so cool.
Fuck that's amazing
Aaand I'm finally done with these, here's some painted screenshot redraws from the haunted temple episode. The video glitched a bit on the second one and I ended up incorporating some glitches and I may have got a bit carried away.
Mad respect for transcribing this
okay guys I just spent 3 hours transcribing the interview at the end of the Torchwood audio "Serenity" (because I'm nothing if not extra) and have gained even more respect for the people who do this sort of thing for a living. but since I have it figure I might as well give it its own post so that other people can find and enjoy it if they wish.
Also let me know if you would be interested in transcripts of other Torchwood audios or interviews. Because I went looking for some a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find any (which is a damn shame and a bit of a nightmare sometimes) so if other people want them as well I might see what I can do to put them together.
contains spoilers for s2e2 "Sleeper" s3 "Children of Earth" and the audio drama "Serenity"
Scott: Hello my name's Scott Handcock I'm the director of Torchwood at Big Finish and I'm joined this afternoon byyyy
John: John Barrowman
Gareth: Gareth David-Lloyd
James: and James Moran
Scott: Welcome back! John and Gareth, this is the first time you've recorded together for a fewww years now.
Gareth: No we recorded last year!
John: Yeah but we weren't together.
Gareth: No, we weren't. No we weren't together were we. No.
John: We had a transatlantic relationship.
Gareth: you, you were by the pool in Palm Springs.
John: I was. I was bi-coastal.
Gareth: and I was in a Cardiff bus stop. yeah.
John laughing
Scott: Just by Splott Meat Market!
John: Hey, I'd rather be in the Cardiff bus stop!...Not!
Scott: But, I mean how is it I mean the chemistry between you is great even when you're not in the room. But is it nice to come back and play this stuff...live, as it were?
John: Yeah, I think that the one thing that's really nice about playing Jack, and also I'm sure Gareth, with playing Ianto, we had these characters embedded in our bodies and our souls so much that even I would say captain jacks like putting on a good coat which ironic because he has that great coat but its easy to get back into the characters. we didn't even have to do anything today when we started we just picked up. Its almost like picking up where we left off.
Gareth: Yeah, its always a pleasure and it much easier when we're in a, in a room together. When were recording, when John's away you can sort of- you can sort of hear John saying the lines because we worked so much together but there's always this sort of um an extra electricity when we're in the same place recording live.
John: Also the scenes, like the bedroom scenes and making out scenes are much easier to do because ya know hes right here.
Gareth: yeah. and (unintelligible)
John: and we really do!
Gareth: yeah.
everyone laughs
Scott: and James, welcome back to torchwood! its uh your first episode since- Children of Earth? is it?
James: It is. Yes. um.
John: Which was brilliant James!
Gareth: eh, All thanks to me.
James: yeah.
John: e-ev, everyb-everybody, and that's the one, funny enough, Children of Earth's is- is the one that everybody says That's like, what- you know... changed their attitude for torchwood.
Scott: Yeah, James your third episode was the last one that didn't kill Ianto. so um
James laughing
Scott: there you go.
Gareth: Thanks for that James. but um, but. yeah.
James: But y- But I was in the room and I-I was, I was part of that decision and they, they didn't want to do it but I insisted. (Gareth: you were, yeah. laughter)I said we've got to get rid of him (Scott: oh you're taking the flak for that now?) I was like no hes awful. awful character. awful actor. lets just end this misery now.
Gareth: f*ck it I've got a shrine!
everyone laughs
Scott: but how has it been revisiting the torchwood world an these characters particularly?
James: its amazing its just like like putting on sort of your favorite, your favorite outfit again! um its- um- ya know um its been such a long time but I didn't even have to think or sort of remind myself. It was just like I-I know this. I know this universe. I know these people. And I just I c- I couldn't wait to get back into it! and I was just saying in the other room, its such a pleasure to do an audio of this because you can have longer streams of dialogue than you would be able to in a TV episode. Because you've gotta, you've gotta get to things much more quickly and be more economical. um So its nice to just let- have scenes where you can just let things breathe a bit. And and knowing that they're gonna be together in the room, uh together in the booth as, well, not in the same booth that- that'd be weird
Gareth:well, give it time.
James: Just knowing that they're gonna be together so that, so that they can riff off each other and it just it just let me kinda have some ridiculous strings of dialogue! Which I'm just,- I'm in the other room, I'm literally laughing at my own jokes like, like a lunatic
Scott: yes.
Gareth laughing
Scott: Yeah, John and Gareth as uh Jack and Ianto you get to play the sort of Happy Couple in this has that been a fun dynamic (Gareth: Yes!) to explore? sending yourself up a bit?
Gareth: Great fun! That's really good fun! Yeah okay, you can, you sort of see, if they did sort of end up together in a- in a perfect world would this sort of be where they'd end up? Um I doubt it. But it is a lot of fun to put them in that sit- to dump them in that situation and let it play out.
John: As we've been doing this one today I think that- uh and listening to it- I think it would be a great one if it was ever filmed. you know what I mean? (Gareth: mm) its one of those things that visually it would be fantastic also the playing that they do together because you know it uhh...
Gareth: It would be all the little looks and-
John: Well yeah, all the little looks and the stuff and the subtleties. Because actually if you take it, if you think about it, the heightened reality of what torchwood is anyway- um you know there's those little looks and subtleties that happen you know when they're being normal jack and ianto. However this way they're getting i-i-i- its- its more obvious and more in each other's face? rather than on the side or behind each other's back. Does that make any sense? (Gareth: mm) So it it'd be quite fun to do that. But I-I think its fun and the- the visual of uh some of the stuff that's happening. Like I love, at the end, when uh ya know their house is the only one that's not on fire and its "OPE there it goes!" (Gareth chuckles) And that, you know, so its, they're just and the normality. I know this sounds really strange but for the n- the the way that they're treated as normal in the neighborhood. (Gareth: mm) And they're a male couple, is- is also pretty cool, because its uh you know its it shows the the change of times and how, and- and actually then that kind of perfect world- (trails off as Scott starts talking)
Scott: and obviously this is a sequel to the TV story Sleepers
John: Correct.
Gareth: Spoilers!
Scott: What are your memories of filming that epis- and, and writing that episode?
John: that, well that was one of the episodes that was really, for us it was quite a challenge because we were filming it in... Do you remember the name of the military base Gareth?
Gareth: I don't, no.
John: well it was a military base in Wales and it was, uh... we had- we used it quite a few times, but this time in particular all of us had to uh get a little dirty? And also we were doing a lot of running around and it was one of the biggest explosions that we had ever done on the TV show. And I remember it was we were running away, I think it was... were we all running away from the explosion Gareth?
Gareth: Uh I don't- I don't think I was there that day I-
John: No, I think it might've just been Eve and I
Gareth: I think I was still...hub boy
James: Lots of explosions! I w- uh they, they liked to say that I spent the whole budget for the series with that one.
Scott: Well, I remember you blew up uhhh a building on Westgate street, (Gareth: a bank) in Cardiff. (James: Yeahh!!)(Gareth: that was incredible!) and it made the news because people assumed it was a terrorist attack.
James: yeah, but that th- that was kind of- that was all a bit overblown. Uh because they did actually tell everyone that they were doing it. And it was planned months in advance so I- I don't think anyone was actually frightened or scared (Gareth: it was it was what the newspapers said) I think the newspapers, it was the newspaper wasn't it, yeah.
John: But it did bring us extra publicity so we were glad of it!
James: exactly!
Gareth: They went 'Bloody Torchwood!'
everyone laughing
James: Yeah, I put you through a lot in that. There's uh that amazing circus, you and Eve again, um in the hospital when the windows blow in and you get you get covered in shit.
John: Yeah! I remember running down the hallway and she, she said to me "what are we gonna do?" and I said "just stay under my arm and i'll make sure nothing hits you." and it just went and uh we got covered in the glass. For those of you who don't know, in explosions, the glass is not made out of glass. Its made out of either sugar, its called candy glass. But also then when they're doing the explosion and its a close up shot they're throwing rubber glass at you! (Gareth chuckles) So and it gets stuck in your hair. Yeah, that was a good, that was a really good episode! that was, uh pretty awesome.
James: Yeah and they gave everyone earplugs and I was like "I don't need earplugs! they're air cannons! They're just gonna go phoo." (John: NO.) and then they went off and it was like "OH MY GOD!!"
Gareth: BOOM!!
John: That's why you're uh a l- you know a little hard of hearing now
James: Eh?
everyone laughing
James: Ha ha ha textbook.
Gareth: There you go.
Scott: And finally, just to wrap up, if Jack and Ianto were to live happily ever after, (John: *fake snore*)(Gareth laughing) how do you think it would, what would they do?
Gareth continues laughing
John: Well I dont mean that in that way!! I'm like i- umff, Of course you're gonna ask that question! (I can't make this phrase out)
Scott: You know, If Jack and Ianto were to live happily ever after how do you think they would go about it?
John: Well listen, I think they would get a dog. what do you think Gareth?
Gareth: I-I- uh I think Ianto would responsibly say we're not having kids as long as we're working for um uh a secret organization that hunts aliens. um
John: but I think Jack would s- all of the sudden, being that his... as he gets a little more empathetic with things, he would be bringing things home, for instance-
Gareth: Alien children?
John: Alien children. Or things that they had to take care of before they could send back. And so you would have this kind of, menagerie of things in the house that they would have to keep secret. Kind of like if I were to like, ya know, refer to another show there's a- an animated show out there where they, its a couple with two kids living with an alien. you know the one I'm talking about? (Gareth: mhmm) um uh and its uh- so I think it would be, but in a more serious way they would have that kind of relationship.
Gareth: yeah that uh th- its quite a good idea actually! the f- um That'd be quite a good episode! (John: it would!) You know them finding like an alien baby and they have to look after it. And seeing that sort of domesticity between Jack and Ianto, that's quite good.
John: And the baby would be
Gareth: One for the uh-
John: One for the, No but listen the baby. If it was, the baby could be gender non-specific! so it would be, it w- it wouldn't be male/fe- it would be, I guess you would call it fluid! (Gareth: mhmm!) and how they would have to teach it and it would grow up and they'd have it secretly and privately grow up in their lives!
Gareth: Its getting bigger. The idea's getting bigger now dunno
John: yeah!
James: If, if they- I think if they did end up together like that, and they disbanded torchwood, I think they'd last about two weeks before they started solving crimes in their local area. (everyone laughing) They'd be so, just like, we need some, we need some action! We need some, we need some fun!
John: I just wanna see an episode with Gareth, w- or, or- uh the visual in my mind, with Gareth pregnant!
James laughing
Scott: On which note, I'll draw this little conversation to close. (John: Thank you!) uh. Thank you all for chatting with me. (John: Always a pleasure!) And thank you listeners for listening.
John: yeah, Thank you.
Gareth: Thank you. Thank you.
James: Thank you!
Scott: Byee!!
I see your doodles each time I open the torchwood tag and I thought I should finally reblog.
This looks so much like Owen. Holy shit that's cool.

I can't wait to find out the exact details behind this.
We've of course seen little clips from his past like dishes piling up and a general sense of shit not being ideal.
But it'd be great to see how it went down, whether his family has truly changed or if they are also putting on a façade like Akihiko believes. It would also help us understand why even his parents are so formal with the "Glasses Bastard"
It's pretty interesting to me that akihiko actually seems to resent his family
From all his interactions with every member of his family (apart from his brothers) he seems to be a normal, loving child but in this episode he openly vents to harumi about how much he hates them for pretending everything is normal
Makes more sense as to why he trusts Daiki so much and this episode also serves to show us how much he trusts harumi now
lego please i’m dying out here
you know in my recent spirit of spilling about my aus... does anyone wanna hear about my 911/Shameless crossover i keep thinking about and not writing?
ur pfp is immaculate
Ur blog is immaculate
I loved that one post you reblogged about how Ed and Larry are those two inseparable friends.
I still don't know who is who though 😅
I am in pain
I google sleeping postions to help
I ignore
Genuinely concerned that this man follows me everywhere I go
I watch The West Wing, develop a tiny bit of a crush
I watch B99 and am pleasantly surprised when he shows up
Then I watch Shameless (US) and I just don't understand how he is in every show I pick to watch.
Just about to start another rewatch of Noël.
How I love christmas time
Toby talking to his kids will always be one of my favourite scenes. I'm devastated we didn't get more until his arc in season 7.
Had to lie on the floor for a solid 15 minutes after finishing season 4 of West Wing
I love that no matter the scenario, mayor Lewis will be defeated.
Stardew Valley x The West Wing is legit one of the most INTRIGUING ideas I have ever heard. And I want to watch it.
Right????? I already have one Stardew AU wip sitting on my drive, but I'm not NOT tempted to start another one...
(cut for unexpectedly lengthy thoughts)
But why would the Bartlets move to Pelican Town when they already own a lovely farm in Nashua, you ask? I don't know and it doesn't matter. Maybe the MS diagnosis happens years earlier, and Jed never goes into politics (UNTIL COMPELLED TO DESTROY MAYOR LEWIS), and Abby decides to spend a year doing rural medicine. Or, oh, maybe they don't meet at Notre Dame after all, and priest!Jed takes over a backwater parish and meets struggling doctor Abby (SV: religious angst version)
Take it a different direction, and what if Josh takes a post-shooting sabbatical for his physical/mental health? He's determined to stay out of politics, he has this farm in his family, and next thing you know he's screaming at Toby about incompetent corrupt mayoral leadership and the staff descends en masse to see what Josh's gotten himself into. OR MAYBE IT'S DONNA'S HOMETOWN (what, Wisconsin can be on the ocean if I want it to be).
AND THEN MAYOR LEWIS IS PUBLICALLY HUMILIATED AND LEAVES TOWN IN SHAME (extremely important).
"Not all men" no, but Hitchcock absolutely would
“Not all men” no, Jake peralta would never
“Not all men” no, Terry jeffords would never
“Not all men” no, Kevin cozner would never
“Not all men” no, Raymond holt would never
“Not all men” no, Charles Boyle would never
I need a tiktok edit that is like Jake Paralta “I think I just met my dad in 1999” and than it’s “my dad 1999” Josh Lyman edit.
Ryan wanting Josh to go to his farewell party so badly. Dude looks up to him and I wouldn’t mind a return of Ryan Pierce if they did a reboot
And then he just comes in a hands Josh his ass in his first meeting in his new job
This looks awesome; I've never been more desperate to see Chim as press sec. He really would be perfect, and he has the humour that I've always loved from CJ.
Not to mention, the shooting arc is a perfect fit since Bobby got shot too just like Bartlett.
Okay i am SO excited that people were interested in this so here it is. I need to preface this with the fact that this won't be totally 1-to-1.
9-1-1/The West Wing Fusion crossover AU thing
SO, i already said Bobby is the President. Not only does it make sense for his relationships with everyone else, but he is also very similar to Bartlett in a lot of ways: the Catholicism, the hidden illness (Jed's MS and Bobby's Alcoholism and PTSD), the strong moral compass and the way they are always everyone's go-to for advice. Also the way they deal with problems and conflict.
Athena is obviously FLOTUS. Unfortunately i suffer with Can't-Stand-Athena Disease, so i'm leaning on my love of Abbey for this one. But they're both very capable, intelligent women who can't be told what to do. Both are completely devoted to their families and are even self-destructive with that love sometimes. (Athena going after Amir (DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THAT - FUCKING ACAB) and Abby secretly treating Jed's MS and putting her lisence in question).
May and Harry should take on the roles of Zoey and Ellie respectively. May still being the older sibling, i just think they fit the personalities of the siblings better that way. Harry being distant and aloof until they have a breakthrough, May being close to the family and friendly with the other staffers. Also the Charlie/Zoey of it all.
Hen (my beloved) is Chief of Staff. This feels obvious. She's already Bobby's second in command, she's got the instict for it, and the respect of all the others. I also think she would still have a fire fighting background and she got into politics later. I just think that experience would be vital for her as COS, similar to Leo's military service. I also think a professional history like that would also commmand respect from strangers.
For Deputy Chief of Staff I'm (perhaps predictably) going with Eddie. I was toying with the idea of it being Chim but you'll see why i didn't got there when i explain his role. But yeah, Eddie's perfect for this one. Both he and Josh are dramatic about everything, they both have well-meaning hearts that sometimes results in them doing or saying stupid shit, they have deepseated issues that cause them to push people away. Also, need i say it? SHOOTING ARC! This also (again predictably i fear) allows for the EPIC ROMANCE of Josh and Donna to be mapped onto Buddie.
Which brings me of course to Buck. He's gotta be Donna. They've got the shared history of failed relationships with some not great people (but remain hopeless romantics anyway), Buck flitting from job to job and Donna not having much work experience go hand on hand too. Also they're both very capable and intelligent but hide it/don't realise that fully. I like to think that Maddie qas the one to get him his job amd Eddie was just a bit too scared to question her.
Now Maddie. This might be an unpopular decision because on the surface they are nothing alike, but I'm putting Maddie in Toby's spot. Not only does she suit Director of Communications perfectly – Maddie is the fucking QUEEN of coomunication (season 5 notwithstanding lol) but she and Toby share a lot of their values. Sure, Toby's a miserable, pessimistic asshole about it, but they both believe in a very black and white definition right and wrong. They are both loyal to a fault (even Toby's treason was an act of loyalty you can fight me on this but you will LOSE) and do everything they can to protect the people they love. Also i just love them both so much i want to fuse them into one because it makes me feel like a mad scientist in a lab trying to create the perfect character out of goo and slime and glitter.
Anyway! For Maddie's second, I'm really not sure. I was thinking maybe Linda or Josh but neither fit particularly well to me. Idk, let me know what you guys think.
Okay. Chim. Think how perfect he'd be as Press Sec. Please. That man is BORN to be on camera. He's charismatic and friendly and relatable, he comes across as approachable but fr who would cross him if he put his foot down? No one! Also. I IMPLORE you to please imagine him doing the Jackal. It was so hard to figure out who i'd trust to take up the mantel of CJ "baddest bitch around" Cregg because i love her so much but when i started to consider Chimney it felt obvious 😅 i also just think he'd love to have the opportunity to evicerate an asshole on live television, and he DESERVES that opportunity too. And if you were wondering: Yes I DO ship CJ and Toby. Hence Madney being their counterparts.
Now for my boy Charlie!!! It of course HAS to be Ravi!! Those boys are the sweetest loveliest boys on the planet! They pair up so well! I also have a headcanon that, similar to Charlie, Ravi has younger siblings he's always had to take care of because their mum died and their dad worked too much. So. Yeah. Also lowkey May x Ravi nation where are you please accept me into your ranks.
Anyway, i hope this is acceotable to everyone who was interested. I might write something in this AU one day but if you have ever interacted with me before you should know not to hold your breath lmao
Tagging @pangrams-n-palindromes from my other post so they see this, I hope that's okay!
okay actually. about the possibility of the new Ninjago movie being live action. you guys know I'm ride or die for animation, but considering it's for Universal, I'm okay with it being live action. they have a couple of banger animation studios under their wing (namely Laika and Dreamworks), but they also have Illumination.
If they were to make an animated Ninjago movie (which can't be a LEGO-movie because the rights to make LEGO movies goes back to Warner Bros in 2025), having it animated by Laika is a hard no, Dreamworks is unlikely (but not unthinkable, especially considering how the Hageman brothers have worked for Dreamworks before), but we'd most likely either get a Ninjago movie animated by illumination OR they could do what they did with their last animated film and just have it be a collaboration between some smaller production companies that hire some animators for just this one project (which is a gamble.)
I just. Unless they get Dreamworks to animate it, I'd prefer live action. I don't want to see Illumination Ninjago.
Besides, the Hageman brothers have been treating Ninjago like live action since day 1. They were originally just tasked with creating a handful of short films to go with LEGO's new fantasy concept. The team was told to just come up with something that looked cool, and to create a few tracks for a sound library they could mix and match to the visuals. Absolutely no one involved followed those instructions. Instead they wrote a motion picture (neatly divided into acts that could be cut into shorts), with a solid plot, worldbuilding, character arcs, and scored the whole thing scene by scene like you would a traditional movie. (not even Avatar the Last Airbender had that. they used a sound library for the majority of their episodes.) The animation, however, was nothing special. They couldn't do what other animated series could, with funky angles and fluid motions, so instead they had to rely on the writing to keep viewers engaged. Because of this, the visuals of early seasons Ninjago feel more live action than cartoony (or anime-esque, which is how I'd describe the more recent seasons).
So really, I won't mind a live action Ninjago movie. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with :D
MORRO RETURN AND HAGEMANS WORKING ON A NEW NINJAGO MOVIE ??? IN THE SAME FUCKING DAY
I'm not too fond of the idea of a live action Ninjago (I hope that's not what happens) but I AM excited at the possibility of another Ninjago movie ??? HELLO???
