The PBS proshot of the West End production of Next to Normal has had me spiraling for the last few days.
Why tf this didn't win any Olivier awards or transfer to Broadway for a limited run is BEYOND ME. For a creative team that had taken SUCH CARE with the sensitive themes, it should've gotten way more recognition.
Thank god it's been recorded and preserved for people to watch but my god. All the little details of this production are so brilliant which makes it all the more devastating to watch these characters struggle.
No Broadway transfer? No cast recording? At least we have a proshot. These performers worked so hard and they deserve to have their work captured.
You know what? It’s missing all my crows hours
Just pretend Matthias is in the gif. I know he’s not there!
maybe if i imagine the character all my problems will be solved
I am so enthusiastically obsessed with the idea of Julie and the phantoms s2, but I need them to understand that the best (only) way to do that is to pretend that the last 4 years didn't happen. no time jump, no recastings (if they can help it), no explanation on why Carlos was 9, but now he's 14, none. just simply pretend s2 came out right away. give me one. "Wow, you grew fast since dinner." "yea I ate my veggies," and then simply move on. it would be perfectly comedic and simply nothing would be better
the fact that the title of the musical is sung by natalie and she’s the one who turns on the light, because this was never about natalie but it was always about natalie
“hi, dad.” throw me in a wood chipper next time.
They didn't let us have a Six of Crows spin off because they knew Jack Wolfe would be too powerful
update: i promise im working on it!!! its just slow going with work and school please be patient <3
have this as a teaser:
"Jealous of your desperate and pathetic pining?” George raised an eyebrow. “Absolutely not.”
“I’m not-” Lockwood’s brain stuttered. Desperate? Pining?
“Don’t even start,” George interrupted, shaking his head. “You’re impossible, Lockwood! You’ve been in love with her since the first day she walked through the bloody door, and the only one who isn’t aware is apparently the two of you.”
Lockwood felt his mouth drop open, his eyes bulge out of his head. Suddenly, forming a sentence seemed impossible. “W-What-”
“It is quite obvious,” Kipps cut him off. “You’re not subtle in the slightest.”
“Thank you, Kipps,” George sighed. “You don’t even live with them- it’s bloody disgusting. ‘Oh- Luce, do you need help with buttering and cutting your toast? What about your tea, one lump or two? Who am I kidding- I’ve had your favorite tea recipe memorized for a year!’ ‘Oh- Luce, are your hands cold? Let me warm them up with mine!’ ‘Luce, is that my sister’s necklace you’re wearing, or my mother’s?’”
“Alright.” Lockwood interrupted, trying desperately to ignore how hot his face felt. His insides were on fire- no, strike that, everything was on fire. Lockwood was surprised he hadn’t combusted yet. “What’s your point.”
For a moment, Kipps and George just stared at him in silence. George was making that face- the one he made when Lockwood was being dumb about research. “He’s hopeless,” George declared.
who would want a silly locklyle fic placed a few months after the end of the empty grave where they are invited to 2nd fittes ball except they (lockwood) still don’t really know they’re dating yet
