Smack

Now I would like to give attention to a band that was quite big in the 80s but during the 90s broke up and disappeared completely.

They are called Smack and they are from Helsinki, Finland. I just finished a book about them (sadly I think it's only written in finnish rn) and I felt like I need to share this with you.

First even I didn't know who they were, but then I started to listen their first album "smack on you" and it blew my mind. Even Slash, Duff and Izzy (from guns n roses) were fans of their work.

And Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and Krist Novoselic (Nirvana as well) were their fans and Kurt even sang some of Their songs in some concerts.

Smack's lead singer Claude died in September 1996 due to some heart problems. He was only 30 y/o.

Since then Smack really didn't do any concerts and disappeared almost completely. Only some people these days remember them.

Smack did also many cover songs, some of the rolling stones, the stooges and new york dolls. They made a cover song of "Paint it black" (the rolling stones) and people thought it was even better than the original one.

It would be so cool if people would find Smack again. They were a really big thing in finland and Los Angeles. Sadly their story didn't last that long.
