Pokemon SWSH - Allister Headcanons (General)

This is my first post and my first time writing for characters so please forgive me if I'm all over the place haha...Allister is such a sweetheart and I really regret not getting Shield just because he's not a Sword charater :(

Anyway, it's a given that he's really introverted.

His Gengar acts as a parental figure for him. Hear me out.

I don't know much about his family life but right now I assume that his parents weren't in the picture much. So I think Gengar would have taken that role for him.

Given that his best friends are ghosts, he never really learned to socialize with other people.

He's actually a really sweet kid, he's just introverted and doesn't know how to put his thoughts into words.

Which leads me to believe that he likes art. Specifically abstract art because it doesn't have to have a definite form. It's whatever he wants, and that is a comfort to Allister.

He would never show his drawings to anyone though. Only his Pokemon, *maybe* a close friend if you're lucky

I wanna draw but my lines don't come out straight, and I keep trying so hard to make people but they don't come out as people, more like facsimile mockeries of the human visage, how do I improve?

I have been thinking about this, fish soup is ironic, what do I mean by that? A fish lives in water right? And we take them out of water only to put there carcass in slightly warmer, tastier water

Hm, I was pondering about the recent-ish trope of Adventuring Guilds (effectively trade unions for protagonists in fantasy rpg-inspired settings, which I’m sure I’ve seen in a bunch of things but the main example that springs to mind is Goblin Slayer to my annoyance but the Hero Association in One Punch Man has a similar albeit superhero-slanted deal), and how mechanically in the setting they exist to ensure x reward is provided for x amount of work/danger involved but in a meta sense are there so the characters don’t have to go looking for heroing gigs on ye olde Craigs Lyst or something.

It’s an interesting idea, similar in a manner to the many fantasy trope-tinged guilds in the Discworld novels of the late great Terry Pratchett, although an amusing idea occurred to me with the idea of trade unions for fantasy heroes.

Like, if there are unions to ensure employment and fair pay for folks clearing out dungeons, getting gnolls out the cabbage patch, stopping gnomes from going through your bins, and so on, then, logically, there much exist fantasy hero scab workers as well.

Folks that the local king or something brings in for lower pay on more dangerous jobs. Folks who are, say, completely new to the setting, out of their depth, and are thrust into a dangerous situation by a seemingly benevolent authority figure because said authority figure is too cheap to hire someone who understands the risks involved and asks more suitable wages for the role…

Worldbuilding Idea: After an apocalyptic event that made the earth inhospitable, a civilisation is built around the worship and maintenance of a machine called "The Grand Eviscerator" which was originally used to turn biological waste to energy but was scaled up tremendously, now it is a gaping, churning machine that takes people and provides energy for the civilization to use

Aro/aces will try to explain attraction and wind up with a theoretical model with dimensions that can no longer be graphed in Cartesian coordinates.

i think one of the first times i realized i was aro(while immediately denying it) was when, a few years ago, a friend of mine kept hinting that she was poly and that she dates people other than her bf all the time. and she’s very flirty, literally with everyone, so i didn’t really think anything of it, until she started hinting at dating me.

and even though i was flattered and she’s great, like, dating her romantically would probs be amazing, i felt a little grossed about it. not by her. just the thought of dating with romantic intent. and so i played oblivious and pretended i didn’t hear any implications in what she was saying.

it surprised me at the time, bc here is someone i’m friends with, who’s funny and cute and very romantic if her bf has any say, and obviously attracted to me and was willing to date me, or at least fuck tbh, and all i could think about was how i needed to change the convo right now.
