shang qinghua understands the shock people have when they find out he and mobei jun are together, mobei jun is gorgeous and strong. caring in weird ways; he's the ideal man so yeah it's a wonder he's dating shang qinghua of all people
really they're suprised that shang qinghua is dating mobei jun. shang qinghua is an immortal peak lord, he's an excellent spy, can be charming when he needs to be, and his awkwardness is endearing and he's dating a demon lord who barely talks, is built like a fridge and has maybe two expressions being cold aloofness and anger
people aren't shocked shang qinghua pulled mobei jun, they're shocked mobei jun pulled shang qinghua
Shang Qinghua comes in late to a Peak Lord meeting and immediately gets harangued and insulted by Cucumber Bro, but like, good naturedly, and he responses in kind
But once the meeting gets started he notices that several peak lords look disheveled and kind of beat up and everyone is either giving him dirty looks or looking at him like he's a puzzle to solve
What he doesn't know:
Before he got there the other Peak Lords started talking shit about Shang Qinghua and Shen Qingqiu lost his shit at them. Blood was spilt but more than that egos were punctured
And then the moment Shang Qinghua turns up Shen Qingqiu is ruder to his face then they were behind his back
They are all so confused

shawn, everyday: *softly* holy shit
Captain Marvel Prompt, GO!
The JL are having trouble with some magic users causing troble, so they call some magic users including Captain Marvel to deal with it. They end up having a bit of troubel so Cap calls in the best person to help. His brother obviously.
The JL had no idea he worked with other people and have no clue what their relationship is, but they're welcoming. Meanwhile Freedy is having the time of his life finally getting to know the JL and getting to work with them. This is his first anything with them and first imprssions matter.
Flash forwards, they manage to find their base. Its some casino like thing that anyone is invited to. They are about to go in when they are to that the buliding has some sort of power nullifier. So while it dosent take away their powers completly, they can't deppend on them and the supers are basically regular people with a very small boost that is barely noticable.
No problem right? They can still fight just fine with out them. And its not like they are taking their wepons away. It will be fine.
Billy: *Looks at his flying brother*...
Freedy: *Staring at his legs in despair*...
B/F: Fuck-
Cue Billy and Freedy derailing the mission for 30 mins as they break into a near by Walmart looking for anything and everything that can work as a crutch for Freedy while they yell at eachother, the universe, and Walmart for not having easy accese aids for disabeld people. All of this happening by a very confused JL that just stand awkwardly at the side not really understanding whats happening.
So much for first impressions
They get it eventually and help him find a par that fit. The mission is a succses and Billy and Freddy manage to stop the magic thing. Freddy is super embarrases about how his first mission went, the JL are impressed with his inteligence and ability to hold his own, and Batman is making a new protical for any and every dissability that their members could have, be it visibal or not.
(Billy is just super proud of his brother, and is still begging for his forgivness for breaking his crutches by using them as a wepon again)
you wouldnt think it when meeting him for the first time but the lord of an ding is quite the smoker
I fucking hate the rotating tall chairs of death, I feel like I’ll die if I fall
Thinking about the design decisions that led to Amy Rose being a bruiser character.
The first appearance of Amy's hammer was in Sonic the Fighters, a fighting game. This was her first playable appearance, and her first time fighting. And there you can see the first decision. She was likely given the hammer because the designers thought it would be unfair to make the girl character fight barehanded against the largely male cast. So she was given a weapon: an appropriately cartoony hammer. This remained her main method of self defense in Sonic Adventure.
Note how in these earlier depictions, the hammer looks more like a toy than an actual weapon. It's not meant to actually be threatening, it's just something to put her on equal grounds with the other characters, since the perception at the time was that a girl character wouldn't be able to fight as well as the male characters.
As we move into more modern and less cartoony depictions of the Sonic universe however, the piko hammer got redesigned. They didn't change its size at all, but maybe someone on staff thought the toy look was too silly, because they made it look more metallic and heavy as the years went on.
But this does change things. Because taken with its new look and realistic weight... that is a freakishly big hammer, and utilizing it the way Amy does would require incredible strength. So, in the modern day, her mastery of the hammer is treated more as a sign of her inherent power, rather than a bandaid for a power differential like a smaller weapon would be. While often still referred to as a "speed" type character, she's regularly depicted as a character whose physical strength rivals Knuckles or even Shadow. As we move later in the franchise, character descriptions regularly call her "powerful."
It's interesting how this shift happened, when really nothing about Amy's depicted abilities has changed. What changed is how realistically the Sonic universe is depicted, as it moved away from slapstick comedy. In that new context, the girl with the big hammer suddenly becomes a lot more intimidating.
From is probably the best horror tv show I have seen in years (personal opinion). It's intriguing and terrifying and yes, the deaths are graphic as hell (not many shows dare to show the maimed corpse of a child on their first ep, I can tell you that), but sometimes it's the little things that can be truly horrifying. Like a traumatized, innocent man (who had survived in that place longer than anybody), digging graves one after another and when asked why since nobody had died, anwering:
"I was just trying to get a head start this time"
...
If I was one of those people there and heard that, I would run for the hills.
Billy being the guardian of the Rock of Eternity which holds many of the most evil creatures in the world like the seven deadly sins is hilarious to me. Probably not canon but in this au every few years he meets up with the other beings who watch over a bunch of dangerous sinners. They use the meetings to share any strategies or mishaps so they can help each other be more efficient but since they’ve all been around for thousands of years minimum, they’ve pretty much optimized their systems so they spend most of the time gossiping and hanging out lol.
