Chapter 8 - Hail Infernal World

Lalo held his breath as Nacho and Marco stood together on the lawn. Would Nacho kiss him, and turn back to Lalo and smirk? Would they laugh at him, an old, injured animal unable to defend what was his? Or would they sneer in disgust at his helplessness?

Marco laid a hand on Nacho’s shoulder. Nacho heaved a sigh and shuddered, like Atlas might if someone offered to hold the world for a little while.

Anger flared blazing hot in Lalo for moment, but just as quickly burned itself out, a fire with no fuel. Familia lo es todo. The first lesson he learned, drilled into Salamanca children from birth. How could he hate his family? Sunlight glinted off Nacho’s ring as he raised his hand and placed it over Marco’s. Lalo’s heart twisted in an indescribable way when he realized that command encompassed Nacho now, too.

Backstory: they have been homies since childhood at the Albuquerque playground Jesse’s mom would bring him to and met a African American boy the same age as him with the biggest smile that offered to play with him and since then a friendship was born.

Delane’s backstory: He is dyslexic and hasn’t gotten special help for it in school but, he had Jesse to help him but now that Jesse is with Jane he doesn’t want his friend unhappy and alone so, he didn’t want to ruin the ‘moment’ they were having when he came to Jesse’s house to report about the dealings and he decided to do it the next day. Now he has Nacho Varga since he now works for him ever since they unlikely met in Los Pollos Hermanos when he was working for Jesse’s operations. At first when they met they DESPISED eachother but, when they first started to get to know eachother they became very good friends.

( And without Delane’s knowledge Nacho likes him and yes let’s pretend the crack whores don’t exist in this AU and Nacho and Lalo used to be a thing and Lalo seeing Delane with his ex that he wants back makes him jealous and y’all are gonna hate Lalo in this AU sadly ).

Delane’s Bio: Has a bad upbringing in his family because their drug addicts and he has been abused several times by his mother Natasha and his step dad Darrel. He’s treated as if he has a disease in the family while his mother’s and step dads child his step sister Anastasia are treated with the love he never had received and never will sadly and he blames himself for having his disability but, he has his own family consisting of; Jesse Pinkman, Badger, Skinny Pete, and Nacho with some of the guys he gets along with in the cartel. Even though his parents are drug addicts themselves and he smokes weed he vows to never do anything harder than that.

Born in: Empire State, New York, but he wasn’t raised there he was later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA and lived there for the rest of his life in a shitty condo not with his ‘family’ because he crashes at his friends houses and stuff but, here and there he crashes at Nacho’s house, just like at Jesse’s house he’s welcome to come over whenever he wants.

Personality: He’s too pure of a cinnamon roll and broken for cartel work and dealings that’s for sure, but he gets around just fine. Except when he has to go to the strip clubs with the cartel and would rather be with a dog instead and it doesn’t matter what dog. He’s friendly, has a kindred spirit, has the guts of a pitbull, compassionate, very loyal, thoughtful, protective of the ones he loves, dutiful, hard working, has trust issues, cautious, wary about a lot of things, free spirited, and will knock anyone’s lights out if necessary. And a good baby sitter.

Fun facts: He may look intimidating but, he’s actually self conscious and acts as sensitive as a big English bullmastiff puppy. He has tons of tattoos on his body, he has a bandana and hat collection, he soon hopes to get a dog collection one day. He has never been stung by a bee, wasp or hornet, he acts younger than he is because the poor kid never had a childhood. He can play the trombone and saxophone. When Nacho and him first met he called Nacho ‘cholo’ or ‘cheesy chips’.
