so much of the Swiftie Discourse would be resolved if some of y’all could come to terms with the following facts:

a) taylor swift is a human being

b) it is genuinely okay to like both the music AND the person creating said music. constantly looking for evidence that the person behind the music is a bad person is just weird. either like her and the music, or just the music; actively searching for reasons that she’s not who she says she is is fucking odd

you know what’s getting incredibly old? the way some “fans” expect taylor to be their perfect entertainment robot. back in the day, we would spend several months — if not years — enjoying the content we got, rather than demanding more. we’re so ridiculously lucky to be fans of an artist who tries to surprise and delight us at every turn, who gives us so much content to pour over. she doesn’t merely exist for our own consumption, she’s a human being who exists outside of us. please recognise that.

agreed! the fact that i saw some fans getting upset about the possibility of ts12 because she’s “dragging along the re-records”. she’s not dragging anything, she’s always been the one with the plan as to when they should come out, fans are the ones dragging it

NO EXACTLY. i’m sorry that you made up a schedule in your head or decided she would be finished with them by the time she was finished with eras but she actually can see the bigger picture and knows more about her career and personal plans than we do

anti-hero is the saddest song in the world set to a fuckass synth like. what do you mean you think you're the villain of every situation you're in and everyone will eventually leave you and even your best traits are just a front to spin more people into your web and you're convinced your own family will kill you for your money and—

the in summation poem spells everything out. everyone should be required to read it, and if they're still giving her shit about matty after then they are being willfully ignorant.

it’s just tiring too like people are allowed to make mistakes. them owning their mistakes is what matters (and she fucking owned it). she could’ve swept this under the rug. nobody was talking about it in 2024 - she dug it up and excavated her own sins and she didn’t ask for forgiveness, she just asked for empathy and humanity

re: ts12 - i’m just so fucking excited to hear about her from a strong perspective. like yes, there will be emotional depth, but she’s overcome the shit she used to struggle with. her life is so full and complete in every way rn (not just travis). she’s not being bogged down and continuously thinking of her trauma because she can’t escape a melancholy partner who couldn’t pretend to care about her. she’s so herself, and has just completely grown into her power from eras and everything else, and it’ll be so fun to hear that come across in the record too.
