i feel like when people talk about eddie’s jealousy they don’t talk about this moment in 5x16 enough like damn he really said you’re missing something because you’re not family to them but i am 🫶

I think it would be funny - in a post-BT breakup, Buck still oblivious to his feelings about Eddie world - if there was an episode where Buck tries to manifest his perfect partner into existence, and every reference to this practice is immediately followed by Eddie just showing up.
For example:
"I'm waiting for the universe to send me a sign."
"A sign about what?"
"About my perfect match. If I manifest hard enough, maybe the universe will point me to where I need to go?"
"Buck, the universe doesn't just... hand out relationships or - or signs to people who want it bad enough!"
Cut to Eddie walking up the steps of the loft holding a package.
"The new signs you ordered for the loading bay just arrived Bobby."
"Perfect. Let's see what they look like."
Buck is still talking with Hen and Chimney while this is happening behind him.
"I know it won't be, like, the universe will point an arrow at someone going 'This Is the Love Of Your Life' but maybe I'll feel a certain energy in the air... or a spark?"
Eddie takes a sign from out the box.
"What do you think?"
"I think you're holding it wrong. The arrow should be pointed down, not up."
Eddie looks and sees the arrow pointing at him. "Yeah, don't need anyone thinking they can just park on my face."
Anyway the episode kinda plays like that for 44 minutes.
what pisses me off so badly is when people say eddie isn't a good friend to buck or doesn't show him half the affection buck does him. it's such a bizarre lie. eddie has buck's back in ways absolutely no one else does. eddie understands buck in ways not even buck himself does. eddie supports him, gives him comfort, shares pieces of advice, tries to make things light for buck by making silly jokes, and loves him and loves him and loves him. he's been saying "I love you" to buck in different ways since the very beginning, their first episode, even if neither of them knew that's what it would mean eventually.
it's "you can have my back any day" and "he's hanging out with his buck today" and "you saved him, that's how he remembers it" and "there's nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you" and "do you know how much christopher misses you?" and "I forgive you" and "this is my kind of therapy" and "check" and "oh, I know you did" and "you're a miracle worker" and "are you hurt?" and "it's in my will, if I die, you become christopher's legal guardian" and "because, evan" and "you act like you're expendable, but you're wrong" and "can you hear me?" and "do more!" and "so now am I allowed to ask how you are?" and "three minutes and seventeen seconds" and "welcome back to the world of the living, buck, you were missed" and "you didn't end up like you" and "this doesn't change a thing between us" and "c'mere" and "of course" and "why are you skulking around my back door?" and "what you always do, just talk to him" and "you saved him". and I could literally go on. it's just how well eddie knows him, inside out. no one will ever have with buck the connection eddie does. they can try, but they won't have it.
