I thought they were using dead!Bobby as a distraction from impending Buddie canon but now I'm starting to think they're using impending Buddie canon as a distraction from alive!Bobby š¤
It fucking pisses me off that people keep trying to paint Eddie as abusive, even though heās proven over and over again that, no matter how angry he gets, he would never actually hurt anyone. Even at the peak of his grief ā completely furious ā he still held back his emotions. And still, people label him as abusive, while other characters have acted out and didnāt get nearly the same backlash.
No one called Bobby abusive when he shoved Buck.
No one called Buck abusive when he sprained Eddie's ankle.
So why is it different when Eddie puts a hand on his shoulder and points at him? Why are those considered less intense than a hand on the shoulder and a finger?
And no ā even though he was grieving, I donāt think Eddie was right to take it out on Buck like that. He doesnāt think so either. Thatās why later he says, āI heard some dick (he) was pissing you off.ā He knows he crossed a line with Buck.
In my opinion, the problem at that moment was that Eddie needed Buck ā he needed them to share their grief, to support each other. But Buck was so focused on trying to āfix thingsā that he didnāt realize grief isnāt something you fix ā itās something you feel. And that frustrated Eddie because all he really wanted was to be with his partner. (It honestly reminded me of when the same thing happened with Hen and Karen.)
Every single fight they had has come down to a lack of communication, a lack of expressing their feelings ā and the explosion that follows.
Were Eddie actions okay? In my opinion, no. But it doesn't mean he's abusive. Heās grieving. Just like Buck. Just like everyone else. People grieve in different ways.
Honestly, if you consider him abusive while thinking other charactersā actions were justifiable, then I have news for you ā itās kinda clear why you think that.
And I canāt deal with people using such a serious issue just because of a ship war.
(9-1-1 conspiracy theorist voice) it's too bad, i loved the crock pot theory. i do think it's weird though how people took "it's 8 hours, not 7 hours and 45 minutes" to mean it would happen in season 8. when eddie only started in season 2. i just think it's interesting that if you're going by the logic of 8 hours = 8 seasons of letting buddie cook, that would mean season 9 of the show, not the back half of season 8
a whole month of work went into this so i hope you like itš„¹
FRRRR, the fact that we got FUCKING TOMMY's reaction to Buck crying and we didn't get Eddie's to Bobby dying when Bobby was such an important person in his life is infuriating. Like was it really so hard to cut the five minutes of Tuberculosis fighting helicopters and the unnecessary reaction to his ex whom he has a very weird relationship with to fit a frame of Eddie just picking up the phone and crying?? šš
this isn't dooming bc i don't for a minute believe that BT is actually endgame but the fact that tim is so insistent on bringing back bigoted white side characters while repeatedly sidelining or mishandling main characters of color is so deeply upsetting to me. are you telling me that they couldn't fit a single minute of eddie screentime in that ep? an episode where BOBBY FUCKING DIES?? it doesn't matter that it might not permanent because all of the other members of the 118 still got to feel that grief and sadness onscreen and eddie didn't. like...why are we acting like bobby isn't eddie's family as much as he is buck's? or is eddie just not important enough that bobby dying didn't even warrant a phone call?? jesus fucking christ
crying rn cus why is the eddie in el paso arc just showing the audience how much of eddieās partner buck really is outside of work LMFAO like oh u think these two are just coworkers? LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER!!! heās supporting eddie reestablishing his relationship with chris. heās supporting eddie while heās in hell with his parents. evan āwords of affirmationā buckley is the glue holding eddie diaz together in texas rn.
if they do not show us eddie finding out about bobby. like. i actually cannot fathom that. bobby was eddie's lifeline. he was eddie's living proof that you could get a second chance and be happy. he was his biggest advocate and he was bobby's. he was a good man. he was family.
"friendships he forged" and the camera pans to EDDIE who was NOT there who we havent SEEN in like a MONTH bc he's in fuckass TEXAS
idc what the writers wrote the REAL Karen Wilson and Howard Han would NEVER forget Hens birthday
the worst thing is actually that they set up all the storylines to be so good. SO GOOD. henren adopting mara, madney dealing with pregnancy again, eddie finding joy through the fog of catholic guilt, buck trying and failing to deal with change. and we just got to see none of it be developed because tim decided on a whim to kill bobby and therefore waste four episodes dealing with that. iām not even mad im just so disappointed
